Also, could you elaborate a little bit more on this: "At one point, the converter outputs the found path and asks if he's right.
At this point you can enter the path manually.
Easy does it, if you copy the new path from the Windows Explorer as text and adding back in the converter window."
What are you saying I need to do here?
The converter uses the folder where the Steam version of FF7 was installed.
If you copy this folder to an other location and wishes to there will be manipulated, you have to specify the path to the copied folder.

Ahhh, I gotcha now. Yes, I did that this go around...

I'm actually just about to try this all over again (I just completed all the mod DL's again)

Fingers crossed everybody!!

EDIT: Nevermind, just got it to work....randomly

UGHHH...I have all of my Mods downloaded...except for one! The Sweeper.rar Every-time I click on the link from MegaUploads; https://mega.co.nz/#F!KkpwxKwY!RXZASwZN6yRNBvxTKCMH-A, it just says "Temporary Error, Retrying" and then doesn't do anything!!!

Anyone have a link for the Sweeper.rar THAT IS NOT the one with multiple different files?

Hello I am new to mods, i recently installed mods for FF7 and believe it or not this is my first time playing FF7. I am 5 hours into the game and the game has crashed two times on me so far, I will be posting my APP log. If someone could find out what the problem is with my mod that would be great! The mods I chose to install were the default, I also use the OST remastered music.

Could you please edit your post with the APP.LOG in code tags. It's a lot of scrolling otherwise. Thanks  :)

Your problem is in the 3rd line. You're using Intel Integrated Graphics to play the game. If you have a dedicated GPU, then enabling it to use during gameplay is shown how to do in the FAQ section on page 1. If you don't have a dedicated GPU, then it states at the beginning of the tutorial that Integrated Graphics won't work, or at least poses many instability problems depending on how old of a CPU it is.

I hope that helps you better understand the crashing  8)

Sorry about posting such a long message. I will go and look into the integrated graphics situation. If I can hopefully fix the problem a bit that be great. Thank you for your help! (Maybe i'll end up playing FF7 on my bootcamp mac 27" screen which would hopefullynot crash.)

You can transfer your save folder to any installation on any computer. Just copy/paste the save folder somewhere before uninstalling the game.

Default controls are on the numpad. If you don't have one, then you need to check the box for Laptop Keyboard in the Game tab.

I'm having an issue where when I start the game the screen size is all wrong. It's all zoomed in and placed up and to the right for some reason. I've tried to mess around with the screen resolution and selecting and unselecting the 'Preserve Aspect' option in the FF7 BootLoader OpenGL Configuration, but its always the same; the wrong size and placed up and to the right. Even in a smaller windowed mode.  Also, the safe settings locked up my computer completely and messed up my desktop.

My screen is 1920 x 1080.

But, when I hover my mouse cursor over the taskbar the little preview window shows the game centered and sized up correctly. Maybe it's from having two screens? Maybe my screen resolution settings are somehow wrong or messing it up? Maybe it's the toggle fullscreen option I selected at some point? I have no idea.

Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong here? Any fixes for this problem?

I'm having a problem opening the game. Every time I try to open it using the bootloader, I only see a black screen with a lot of grey particles moving around, and there's no sound. Here's some information that might help...

Bit of an update regarding my issue with screen size from yesterday. It seems that the screen size and positioning can be fixed if I hit the windows key and click the 'show desktop' button, then restore the FF7 game window. I'm glad that I have a way of fixing this, but I'd rather not have to do this every time I boot up the game, so I'd still very much appreciate a solution to the problem altogether.

But yeah, so far I LOVE this mod. My favourite game remade the way I want it to be, prettying up the graphics and not messing with the story or how/what the characters say.
When I first played this game in 1997 I loved it, but I didn't know of anime back then. So Advent Children, Crisis Core, etc. kinda ruin Final Fantasy 7 for me. I'd much prefer to imagine how the characters act and speak for myself, rather than how they would in an anime- which comes across as bizarre and alien to me.

I love and enjoy this game like I would a book, with how I can narrate and interpret the character's small gestures as I see appropriate. And I think a full and official remake would completely ruin that and utterly break my heart.

Any voice acting or awkward and untranslatable facial and bodily expressions would transform the game into a betrayal of how I interpret and enjoy the game.

If Cloud were to smile like he did in Advent Children, or laugh like Titus. If Barrett were to get an offensively bad Mr.T voice. If Aeris were to become a ditzy and fragile flower girly-girl face-palmfest like in Crisis Core, or if Yuffie began to act like a kawaii Japanese schoolgirl rather than the sardonic/sarcastic almost-4th wall breaking rebel jokester of a character as I've come to know her as.. I would die.

So yeah, this is perfect, thank-you so much for doing this.

First time this has been reported, so I don't know what to do. If you figure out a way to resolve other than the "show desktop" button every time it launches, let us know. That is really not a fix, so much as a temporary bypass since it still occurs each time you launch the game. Try fiddling with Windows desktop resolutions. Also test whether the screen does this on a clean, unmodded installation.

The bold lines mean it is not reading your Nvidia graphics card when it's running. Check the FAQ section on how to fix that.

The "missing parts" for the movies is supposed to happen. Those movies have multiple sets, so it will choose one of them to install, and the ignore the other. When it ignores it, it says the "missing parts" message rather than that it's ignoring them. I didn't code that, so sorry for the miscommunication.

I have a new problem, no music.
This is the error message I get:

Access violation at address 00000000. Read of address 00000000.

I did copy some music files earlier, but I didn't mess with the original files. Maybe I need to reinstall them or something?

EDIT:
Okay, I fixed it. I just dumped all the files back in the FFVII folder. But I might have more updates, like the screen resolution thing. So instead of constantly posting and adding to the length of this thread I'll just update this post from now on.

You can find an updated version of that Red XIII model on my release thread. I haven't heard about any installation issues with it.

you have to edit "ff7_opengl.cfg" with Notepad and set the resolution to a value that is supported by your PC.

FF7 is controlled with the numeric keypad. If you have not, you must install the LaptopKeyPatch.

this is what I see in that file

## USER OPTIONS ##
## If you just want to play the game, these are the only options you'll want to change.

# set the window size (or fullscreen resolution) of FF7
# 0 means use original resolution (whatever ff7.exe provides)
# preserve_aspect adds black borders as needed to preserve a 4:3 aspect ratio
window_size_x = 1280
window_size_y = 960
#internal_size_x = 3840
#internal_size_y = 2160
preserve_aspect = yes
fullscreen = yes

#window_pos_x = -1
#window_pos_y = -1
#widescreen_hack = yes

what would I change without messing anything up
