Title: flevel.lgp
Post by: royalmurder on 2011-11-25 03:56:34
 :'(
I downloaded PitBrat's Bootleg Configurator, and it worked fine, except for Gjoerulv's Hardcore Mod not being able to find flevel.lgp (the configurator carried on and finished all the other mods)

Now when I try to launch the game, it just flashes black and then closes, without showing anything at all....
how can I fix this? The only problem I can discern is that I have no flevel.lgp installed, but I don't see how that could have happened... :-\

You must specify the correct installation destination path when installing the Hardcore Mod.
The destination is the 'data' folder inside the game folder.
Bootleg prompts you with the correct destination path to use when installing the game.
Even with the original flevel.lgp and the Hardcore Mod, FF7 should still run.
Did Bootleg complete successfully and display the readme?
PM me a copy of your Bootleg.log file.

I did get that done, using the browse thing as well to avoid typos.
I'll get that log file sent to you now.

where is the flevel.lgp usually stored? I'll check to see if there's one even there...

You need to do a FULL install of FF7. Some files (mainly flevel.lgp) are known to NOT be copied to the hard drive when not doing a full install.

If there if no field folder, you did not do a full install.

I suppose it may be possible I didn't do that... but I'm fairly certain I did.
And, it still didn't work when I copied the flevel.lgp over from my friend's version, so I don't know what's going on there :-/

But, I re-installed it and it works fine now... just have no music  :(

EDIT:
I figured that problem out too... not reading the end of the installers doesn't help much... :)
