Releases / Re: ff7 blue limit for ac mod
« on: 2010-05-12 22:54:33 »
Good for you.. :) But I think the forums has a rule about double posting. :-\

I'm trying to do that for my own. Never thought someone had already done this. BTW the PRP Patch only changes the worldmap models and the field models so basically the minigames stay untouched by the patch.

Troubleshooting / Re: Install mods
« on: 2010-05-12 22:46:09 »
All I know is you have to run the game at a higher resolution to make the textures show.
Steps:
1.Go to your ff7 main directory and open ff7_opengl.cfg by dragging it to a blank notepad.
2.You will see this file
# ff7_opengl config file

# use shaders, if available and supported
# turn shaders off to use the OpenGL 1.1 backend
use_shaders = yes

# plugins
# a movie plugin is required, the music plugin is optional, but required to make FF7Music work
movie_plugin = plugins/ffmpeg_movies.fgp
music_plugin = plugins/ff7music.fgp

# vertex and fragment shaders
vert_source = shaders/main.vert
frag_source = shaders/main.frag

# YUV fast path shader
yuv_source = shaders/yuv.frag

# post-processing shader, used to apply fullscreen effects
post_source = shaders/bloom2.post
enable_postprocessing = yes

# display frames per second counter in upper right corner
show_fps = no

# display some real-time debug information
show_stats = no

# set the window size (and fullscreen resolution) of FF7
# 0 means use original resolution (whatever ff7.exe provides)
# preserve_aspect adds black borders as needed to preserve a 4:3 aspect ratio
window_size_x = 1360
window_size_y = 768
preserve_aspect = yes
fullscreen = yes

# prevent glitches due to rounding errors by rendering in the nearest (larger, if supported)
# multiple of the original resolution and up/down-scaling
prevent_rounding_errors = yes

# check your driver settings if this option doesn't seem to work
enable_vsync = yes

# limit snowboard, coaster and highway minigames to refresh rate / 2, i.e. 30fps for a 60hz display mode
# vsync must be enabled and working for this to have any effect
minigame_framelimiter = on

# same thing, but for the battle swirl
battleswirl_framelimiter = off

# replace FF7's default framelimiter timer source
use_new_timer = yes

# use a more stable (but less accurate) timer to control FF7's framelimiter
# this option has no effect unless the use_new_timer option is on
use_stable_timer = yes

# allow FF7 to use linear filtering for its textures
# some things look slightly better with this option on, but alot of textures just lose their detail
linear_filter = on

# make all dialog boxes transparent, same effect as the transparent dialog boxes YAMP patch
transparent_dialogs = on

# expand battle viewport to cover entire screen and make the battle menu transparent
new_battle_interface = on

# enable alpha blending for textures without an existing blending effect
fancy_transparency = on

# store external textures in a compressed cache for increased performance
# compression is not lossless, some artifacts may appear when this option is in use
# texture cache does NOT update automatically if the source image changes, however, deleting anything from the cache
# will cause that file to be recreated from the source
compress_textures = yes

# read files directly instead of using LGP archives
# this option requires you to have all your LGP archives unpacked in direct/, with one folder for each archive
# for example; if FF7 is looking for aaab.rsd in char.lgp, this option will make it open direct/char/aaab.rsd instead
# this option should be used for testing only, performance will take a hit
direct_mode = off
3.Change the red text color with your resolution
4.Be careful of what you change there and make backup of the file in case something goes wrong.
5.Good Luck :)

Completely Unrelated / Re: My AMV's on Youtube.
« on: 2010-05-12 20:39:07 »
Oh yeah.. But what video is actually a flashback in the game?? And if you're planning to do that it will be really hard cause you'll have to have the fps right.

Why don't you help Grimmy?? He's editing videos in the game and maybe you can help him? You did say you're good at editing videos right?? :)

Hmm.. Maybe the AMV you did for FF7 can be used to as the opening screen movie in the game but it wouldn't really look right because its mostly of Zack's story but if you mod the game using Zack it looks good. :)

Completely Unrelated / GTA game
« on: 2010-05-12 19:44:46 »
I'd really like to see Barret in a GTA game. Maybe I'll try to make a character in Def Jam that looks like Barret except the gunarm of course. :-X

You can also edit the files in the shaders folder?? Didn't know that. Really glad someone asked about this stuff. :)

It really sucks to buy a game when other people just download it overnight then they have the game.

General Discussion / Re: Sephiroth's Last Name??
« on: 2010-05-12 19:08:49 »
I have read a question like yours in the other forums and they're implying that Hojo is the last name because when a doctor or proffesor is called we start by Proffesor "last name". Example is Proffesor Einstein not Proffesor Albert. :-\

General Discussion / Re: Sephiroth's Last Name??
« on: 2010-05-12 13:56:04 »
So he named himself Sephiroth but no last name?? But I really like Sephiroth name alone. Sephiroth Valentino don't sound good. Maybe that's why SE did'nt gave Sephiroth a last name because the name sounds best with no last name. :-X

General Discussion / Sephiroth's Last Name??
« on: 2010-05-12 10:53:44 »
Cloud Strife, Tifa Lockhart, Aerith Gainsborough, Barret Wallace, Zack Fair, Yuffie Kisaragi, Vincent Valentine, Cid Highwind. How about Sephiroth?? I googled it and found out that its Sephiroth Valentino in everything2.com but I don't believe it because Hojo is his father so I'm guessing Sephiroth have the last name of Hojo. Or maybe Sephiroth Crescent because of Lucrecia?? Hmm..

Troubleshooting / Re: Help guyz
« on: 2010-05-05 18:07:47 »
thankz! ive done it...

another question, which .lgp file i have to extract?
extract it to a folder like battle contents for battle.lpg then for the field extract char.lgp to another folder then overwrite the files. After that just create a new .lpg and replace the old ones with the ones you created. Remember to keep backups. :)

I'd like the FMV's in the remake done like the movie Advent Children. I wish there was a remake :-\. I actually played this game continously in 2 days without sleeping. If there was a remake I'd never sleep again!! hehe

Your right. :) what I was thinking is that he do not have the will to fight like the original ff7 because he did not have the main enemy Sephiroth driving him crazy. haha

Releases / Millenia's custom models
« on: 2010-05-04 00:00:30 »
I opened battle.lgp with LGP tools and replaced the files WITHOUT extracting and repacking them.

I did try renaming the rtae file from the AC Cloud model's files to rtcz and then replacing using the method above and still no effect.

How do I clear the cache? I went looking around but didn't figure it out.

If you have aali's custom driver you will have it in the main folder. I have it here "C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\cache". Just delete the files inside it and restart the game again and try if it works. :)

Just a little update....

Hey I was just wondering a few things:
1. What's the latest release of Phoenix Rejuvenation Project?

2. Should I just wait for the next release? (Is it soon?)

3. I've installed 1.02 patch, OpenGL Patch, YAMP and High Quality In Battle Cloud. Are any of them incompatible?

4. Does this just include field NPCs or in Battle ones too? (i.e. should I try and get the High Quality In Battle Tifa/Barrett etc.)

5. Where do I download the latest copy and how do I install it?
1.The projects been stopped. What a shame. :-[ what you can download on the 1st page is the latest I believe.
2.As what I've read and said I think it stopped.
3.Yeah that looks good OpenGL is the driver. YAMP touches only the .exe file and the high quality battle cloud affects the battle.lgp. they are compatible. Just a suggestion though, why don't you use Apz Cloud's battle model? I think it's the best model for cloud. :)
4.Only the NPCs.
5.You will need the game installed on the default folder. "C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII." You install it by just running the installer and follow the steps and you should see two new icons in the desktop.
Now there are two ways to use PRP. One is by clicking the new blue desktop icon but they are incompatible with opengl I think. Or Two which is what I'm using. Go to "C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\data" and you should see a new folder which is ffprp. Now make backups of your char.lgp and battle.lgp just in case. now rename 00.lgp as char.lgp and 01.lgp as battle.lgp. I'm not sure because i did this method a long time ago and I forgot if 00.lgp is the char.lgp or the battle.lgp but just in case also make a backup of it. after that replace your battle.lgp and field.lgp with the new ones and run the game using the .exe file or FF7Music if your using it.
Good Luck. :)

Troubleshooting / Re: Help With Slayernext's Crystal Sword

Hey there. :) just wanted to help. I have the same problem as you are but I fixed it. :) Open the file rtcq and double click the image and when you see group choose Group 0 then click group properties. If you have the latest kimera click additive and then click apply changes. That method worked for me. :D
