Hey guys, I took a break from making the battle scenes, and I've been working on something the past couple of days that's gotten fairly far along, and I'm quite proud of it (this is something I've been wanting to do for a while but only now am I confident enough to do it). Just wanted to let you guys know that I'm still working on the scenes, the second pack is pretty far along.
I have to go to bed but for now, I'll post a piece of the model let you anyone who's on guess what it is and what model it's from.

I'd put that at either a forarm or lower leg, I'll say the arm is the ticket... aeris? tifa?

The right arm of Cloud would be possible, too, but lower part of this model would look strange for forearm.
So, because of this and this suspicious orange dot, I go with Template and say Airbuster.

The orange dot is the objects origin in blender - the point about which it'll rotate and whatnot.

That's what I thought. A human arm wouldn't have its object origin there, but the arms of Airbuster have.

I never actually use the object origins for anything, they just start where i started making the object :P.

The face (and the hair especially) was modeled after the Dissidia model, although the one I made came out looking a bit older I think.
I've kept the shape of the parts close to the originals to try and hopefully prevent any oddities while ingame.

Sweet Tifa.
Not that I know anything about it, but there's something off with her cleavage. It looks too narrow up top and too wide on the bottom.

This is incredible work. It has the quality of the Dissida model, but doesn't have the robotic look in the face. PitBrat maybe right about the chest, it may need a bit more rounding, or maybe just slight adjustments to the texture. I cant wait to see this completed.

Update:
Changed the tank top texture shading a bit and added the legs.
Also the texture for the legs have very similar blending at the knee, so hopefully this will cause it to look more like she is bending them ingame and less like they are individual pieces.

so beautiful tifa but can you change her cupid's bow a bit more natural plus the neck and yeah her chin should be a bit higher and maybe her shoulders can be modified a bit. Well if you change these I would be extremely satisfied especially when it looks close to the dissidia tifa and finally more sexy tifa!

He's got this. Give him some time! :P Anyway, I wouldn't want it to look exactly like the Dissidia model. It's a Bloodshot original. I guess since it's Tifa one of the most important parts to get right is the bust... and it seems like she's gotten older here. Is it easy to raise her boobs a little? Maybe just make her waist lower? I just thought her belly button and her bust were a bit too close together.
This artist seems to think Tifa would have her belt above her belly button... but that doesn't seem right either. Still, she's got those long abs/torso you see with gym-rat girls.

Tifa's also a massive hyperbole in female anatomy. I think the face and head look pretty good. Looking again Template may have a point about the location of her bust and hips. Raising her chest up may make it so her waist and belly button seem accurate, but right now they do seem close. So are you doing the Dissida pony tail or going for the old school dolphin tail? Do you think you see matching teenage and dress models in the future when this is completed?

Tifa's anatomy isnt quite as rediculous as you may think, she's just a clever dresser. The belly button should be under the belt/skirt. Her top cuts just shortly after her bust ends, showing her upper abs. The skirt goes from above the belly button, to just (srsly just) below her buttocks, giving the illusion of super long legs and a short upper body. this kind of hides her hips a bit, and can make modeling the hip/waist area kind of awkward.

I was thinking the head was just in general too big for fitting with the dissidia style, so I'll either scale down the head or try making the eyes bigger, more like the artwork.
I'm leaning towards scaling though.

well you have the mesh scaled to ff7... so while you may inspire your texturing from dissidia, (which is fine, square has some lovely texture artists) features will need to stay the right size ; aka not dissidia. so big eyes, big head, etc.

lol crap, I'd have to agree above all she's known for her chest. Her hair is probably second though. Her eyes and face look great now, I agree she looks better with the more anime look about her. The only thing my eye catches now that seems off is her belly button. In the pictures from the original games art it shows her similarly with her belly button showing, but to achieve that she has a much smaller waist and longer legs. Your model has a more natural looking anatomy, which will look better in the game. Here it still looks like her belly button is too close to her chest. With how high she wears her skirt, technically it would be covered.

Since blocky models of the old FF were not so descriptive, what I personally recognized most about Tifa at first place is 1st her clothing style, 2nd her strong personality and 3rd her double ponytail.

I've looked up some pictures and models from tifa to compare and try to point something out to help but i didn't found anything that i could shout out loud (of course I've found a lot of porn in the process, and some pretty weird stuff like fat guys dressed as tifa... it hurts when i remember that).

I think those are some pretty good points. I think among all the reference material available the third picture of Tifa here is probably the best. It's based off of the original art work, but it's a bit more modern. She's not wearing her skirt so high like they did in the 90's, and her shirt shows a bit more midriff.

The belly button looks wrong placed, the model struckture of Tifa in FF7 dosen't allow to show a belly button, because the skirt is placed to high.

We've already pointed out the discrepancy and believe showing the belly button is more accurate to the artists' original intentions.

The belly button is wrong. As I said it's impossible to show one with the original FF7 body size. Even if it's in the original art, for a more realistic look the belly button must be much lower. I don't think it's a 'must have' that she has one, anyway. The hip and the upper legs could be a bit wider, but the perspective could lie to me.

I guess you're right about the belly button but if you look at the original artwork, wich the 3d model was based on, you can see her belly button, so he could drop it to above her belt maybe, or below; not showing it or showing half of it, idk... Tifa's thighs and hip aren't quite large if you think of it, her boobs definitely are, but her lower limbs are quite normal with great curves. So i don't know if it's worth changing it.

Skirt needs some works on the creases still, and the bottom lip is still pretty giant. I'd also pass the whole texture over to add more depth with shadows/highlights, it still reads pretty flat. The skin especially.

Will do, though I've been wary of doing the skin shading more since I want the joints to match up ingame like they currently do and not look like separate parts.
I'll play around with it though.

I get you.
the joints need only really match when extended in certain ways. Make clever use of bits of mesh normally hidden to be colored correctly when the show, as well as keeping in mind joints shouldnt always blend, such as the creasing at the elbow when you lift your forearm in a bicep curl.

I still think her face looks a little too long, or too big, probably too long. I agree with what LeonheartGR said on the first page, about reducing that distance a little bit on her cheekbone area. The face just looks odd right now, not Tifa-like I guess.
But the model overall looks great in game! That screen shot you posted looks great, the joints look awesome. A big problem I see with other Tifa models is that her joints look very unnatural, especially her knees. But her joints look so good on yours!

The third and last one from the left, the dissidia one, is more likely to be chosen...
I've also took some measures with the intention to help, not criticize, most measures were pretty similar but others had a small difference.

One difference I found was the eye to eye distance, because the eyes size was increased but it took away some face simetry, leaving the eye to ear distance a little small, or maybe her eyeballs are too much lateral they could be more medial. But this isn't such a big deal.
[I'm not sure what the hell I did at those units but i think they're in inches not meters, sorry I was a little sleepy when I did it]
Generally I think her jaw/ cheeks near the chin area could be a little rounder a little larger (Tifa has sort of a round face after all) and her head is a bit long, I guess that could be fixed rising her nose, mouth and chin a bit.
(I think the head that I took those measures was a little turned to the left, therefore not showing her ear maybe, or not idk).
Still she's already a great model if you wanted to release like that, I definitely wouldn't complain :D, I'm just trying to help some way I can :X instead of just saying, oh great model can't wait when she's gonna be ready and things like that...
[I did using zoom, maybe that's why the unit/ measures are so crazy, but the proportion is right.]

Yeah, that's what I was going for, I think that would make her jaw/cheeks rounder.

You guys probably don't realize kimera has a very different FOV from other programs which changes how it looks quite a bit from how it looks in modelling programs/in-game
For comparison, here's the Dissidia Tifa at a very similar angle

Notice how different it looks from the example pic posted, thanks to the higher Field of View - the face shape appears to be much more gaunt, the eyes appear farther apart, etc.
I have changed it to be a bit shorter though.

I want to play with the skin and clothes textures a bit more, but she's almost ready. Hopefully by tomorrow, but I'll have to see how it goes.

I think you can add extra detail on the upper right of her head as seen from the artworks.
