As sick as it is.. I think what you said is VERY true.. I would wager a pretty penny that without the FF name XI would have been played by a few people because of the pretty graphics, but probably left for dead soon after.

Honestly, the idea of gaming in a group is cool, but I don't think it should be a must.. I think XI would have been a lot better of a game if they had taken it down a few notches on the group reliance thing..

Wow, I'm amazed. Person gets banned, then acts as a fan to his own obsolete patch.

In the thread provided.. Almighty_gir is the author .. or atleast he did the Sephiroth design.. He's not but or goth ... right?

One important thing I forgot to mention.. If you decide to give tactics a spin get the psx version.. Do NOT get the version for the GBA .. Tactics advance I think they call it.. I really hated that.. For some reason it just really sucked for me.. I never got past starting out basically..

I heard WoW > FFXI

From what I heard FFXI is a real bitch to play solo.. You HAVE to have a decent group to do anything.. And it's really hard to start out..

WoW .. I played it a little.. On a free server just to test it out.. I could basically do squat.. Granted I had no instruction guide or anything of the sort, but I didn't find it to be very fun..

Looked pretty though..

If you enjoy chess I'd say you'd enjoy Final Fantasy Tactics.. I really did.. I also loved Final Fantasy 8, but I pretty much despised 9.. (The opinions on 8 and 9 are an odd thing with all FF fans..)

But.. Really now, if you lost your job to FFX .. Maybe you shouldn't play rpgs anymore..

Oh.. Also.. If you like puzzle type games.. I was playing Breath of Fire 4 for the PC.. That's pretty neat, and it has puzzles that you have to figure out on your own that I found to be a little more complex and time consuming than the newer FFs..

I heard about PEC, and i downloaded it, but i dont have FF8 Roms, only the PC version, so i know without roms an emulator would do nothing.  

Yeah.. You are very right.. It won't do anything at all.. But that's the only way I know of to make the GSC's work on a PC playing FF8 .. Granted it's not the PC version though.. LoL

Honestly, your only other option is to go the route that Sprio was sending you in.. You'd have to do value searches, and hope that you came up with something..

Putting enemies into your party with this method however, I think would be a long shot.. I wouldn't have a clue as to what values you'd even search for to control the party members, nor do I believe anyone else would either, but I could be wrong.

The only thing I used to play with the PC version of FF8 were Qhimm's programs.. Maybe a few others I messed with, but Qhimm's programs were the best, and that's why I'm still here to this day.

If you do find something, let us know.. I'm also sure that if anyone knows of any way to do this, they'd tell you here.

If you use a PS emulator to run the PSX version of FF8 you can use a program called PEC (I think) and that allows you to input GSC without trouble.. It's a program that adds into the plugins of your emulator.. I used it with Epsxe..

It has been said before that a LOT of the creations in videogames were drug related.. Look at mario..

Eats a shroom.. Gets bigger.. Flower = throwing fireballs.. You stomp little goombas and fight a dinosaur.. (someone was loaded) ~_^

Drugs also made music what it is.. (A lot of it anyway)

So.. Honestly.. I wouldn't doubt that someone was on something when they thought of the story line for anything...

Not that I think it's a bad thing mind you.. I think it's fine..

Heh Caddberry, no offence meant there, just a passing comment ;/ What I was trying to say is that people should just try and leave their "comfort zones" and appreciate the movie in the language it was intentionally made for, which is Japanese Sure, reading subs can be a bit of a lus, but you get used to it, especially if you've watched anime or foreign languages before...And it usually doesn't get in the way of the picture anymore (if you're watching in widescreen obviously)

Anyways, I have nothing against teh_english or those who speak it, I speak it as well

I didnt honestly take offence to what you wrote, but the way it came across I thought someone might. That's why I said what I did. I understand your point of view, but I know a lot of people on another anime forum that are die hard Dub fans.. Ok.. There is one.. But he still exists.. LoL Actually, I don't think he visits the forums anymore..

I just didnt want someone to get angry over what you said and start flaming.

There is too much tension on the net world lately.. When you use the word Patriot and idiot in the same sentence usually someone bites..

First off.. The reason why most dubbed (english) anime sucks is because of how they have to lengthen lines and such to fit the timing.. It really kills it .. Some are better than others, but nearly ALL dubs suffer from this..

Heh, why not just keep it with Japanese dubbing and watch it with subs? That way everyone's happy Unless of course, you're some sort of really English-patriotic idiot ;/

I don't think that patriotism has ANYTHING to do with liking anime that is dubbed in your own language. I hate watching English dubbed anime, but there are many people that are just too lazy to read, or don't care to read subtitles. Implying that just because they like anime that is dubbed into English does not make them an English-patriotic idiot..

System restore deals only with system files.. It doesnt restore for example word files that you have altered.. Atleast.. Not that I know of..

If you overwrote a file there is no way to get it back that I know of either.. Its one thing to delete a file, but overwriting it with another one means certain death.. I've never heard of a way to restore a file that has been trashed like that.

In short.. I think you're out of luck.

I'm sorry. I can't help it that we inhabit the same forum. I told you that I wouldn't say anything to you directly. Having anything to do with you means the same thing to me. I told you I'd have nothing to do with you. Just because you create a thread doesn't make it yours. I can have a discussion in any thread with other people while ignoring you.. It's quite simple.. I'd been doing a good job of it.

Criticism I can take, but I'd rather you not say anything about me publicly. If you have a problem with how I handle things file a complaint with someone else, and they can let me know.

Oh, it's just public criticism. Sure, I can see the logic of not being allowed to criticise people who hold a public position in public. They are not responsible to that public they serve, or anything...

No.. Just you.. I'd rather you left me alone, just as I'd leave you alone. I'll take public criticism from others. I'd have just liked it if you would have turned in an anonymous request to another mod.. That way we could have kept ignoring the existence of each other, and I'd still like it if you'd do so.

Can I use that same argument whenever I want? Because it is really handy - "I don't want to have anything to do with you, so please don't argue my point of view".

So... you did not want it? That seems highly unlikely, considering that you offered to do it.

If you would bother to read that topic again, you would notice how I already demonstrated that what you meant was "Please give me a title, please please".

I like Qhimm a lot.. I offered to do what I could to help him. I also don't feel like reading the thread again.

If anyone thinks they can make a difference, let me know and I'll make you a moderator. I'm tired of cleaning up this mess, if you people are interested in this place as anything else than a random crap dump then maybe you should start actually working for it.

Personally I think that if a person replies to such post, saying that he wants to moderate he means that he really wants to make a difference. And frankly, that's not happening here.

I wanted to help Qhimm by doing what I could. As far as moderating is concerned there aren't that many problems on this board.

If by moderating you mean tearing into new people when they ask for help then yeah.. That doesn't happen with me.

So look.. I'd really like to go back to the two of us just ignoring each other completely. I was doing it so well.. and so were you.. We had a thing going.. It was like magic..

A remake would be nice, I would like a graphical update to FFVII and FFVIII. Although, we should have the erase option too, as in, erase X-2 and (kill me) FFIX. What a waste of talent...

I'd like to know what was so wrong with ff9? It's my personal second favourite O.o

Lots of people say that.. but just the same number say it sucked. I think it was the abrupt change from 7 and 8 into how 9 was.. just my opinion though..

I hated 9.. I could relate to cloud, and I could also relate to Squall.. But I just couldn't relate nor care about the monkey boy..

I still played it.. I even beat it.. But.. After I played it through .. Ignoring most of the side quests.. I never touched it again. 9 just felt like a kiddie game.. And I didnt like that at all.. The characters looked like they were targeted at a young audience, and so did the scenery .. It just felt wrong to me..

I can't seem to get the txt subs to work properly.. It seems that the person just opened the original sub file and edited only the text, but I havent had any luck trying to get it to play.. Has anyone else?

Just a question here.. How close is your hardcore patch to completion? Is it done and I just missed something?

After seeing advent children I was thinking of revisiting FF7 .. Toying with the idea.. I think it would be a lot of work to install all the needed patches and tweak everything..

If your patch isnt finished.. Do you know when it will be?
