Oh ok..damn
hmm the reason why im so obsessed with this is because i think its very weird for as well isnt emulation illegal (correct me if im wrong) and i know for sure ROMS are but i guess squaresoft can make rom images..cuz they own the copyrights to chrono trigger. but they still made an emulator and they dont own the copyrights to nintendo.
Quote

no emulation is not illegal if you have the hardware and the games you emulate (its a kind of gray zone) but i dont think that it is an emulator that emulates more games. i think the engine uses the rom as resource file and does not realy emulates it.

Quote

and also i just think its stupid that squaresoft can put a friggen snes rom on a disc along with some "bonus features" and sell it for however much it costs. here in aus chrono trigger wasnt released..unless its in that uh double package thing. cuz all of a sudden EB got all these ff remakes: ff6, ff5 i think anthology, ff1 and also ff2 so yeah. but i didnt see chrono trigger there.

thats the same with dvds they put some "bonus features" to the disc that no one needs the trailer of a movie or something like that

the background in scan 1 remembers me to ff8 edeas house ;)

ff8:ac seems to work now after a reboot. i tried to change the menu files from the first menu (new game, load, credits) i extracted the tex converted them to bmb edited converted back to tex and replaced them but they dont show up in the game the menu is still the same.

1. Do any of you think that emulation can be paused to allow FMVs to play then to resume after the FMV is over?

yup why not? i dont think that they used a normal emulator they written it sellf so it is possible they written such routines.

2. Can SNES roms contain multiple languages? Or would it be possible to read a file containing all the speech/text data externally and overlaying the japanese font (just incase they cant support multiple languages)

yep there are many multi language roms out there and as i said in 1. you the could have created such an engine.

Quote
and now what im going to do..which i really dont think will work..is replace the rom with another rom..hopefully it does work...but i really really doubt it will

good luck i dont think you will get it to work. i tried once to edit a psx iso didnt work cause i couldnt reconstruct the file sys

w00t the Tools work well. a small request for Omega can you make a batch modus to convert multiple tex into bmp at once?

hm just one problem i cant replace files it says the file (for example) menu.fs is in use by an other app

edit: screenshot

the german sentence means: the process can not access to the file because its in use by another application

great work! is there such a patch for ff8?

i think so to because you need a psx version of the game and a bios and much plugins its realy complicated to configure it right

43
nah i cant hear that "But the licence agreement ...." its always the same and if you read it completly you can doubt that you are even allowed to install the game so dont care bout that crap

the best ps emulator out there[/quote]

45
GREAT work!!! i hope you make it complete so i can play ff7 in high res!
a option for other resolutions would be great to. but i think it would be realy complicated to make it

46
hm its not realy easy to create a program that will do thins. first you have to decompress then you must seek the files and replace thats much work and not realy a task to learn programming

47
hm i think its just garbage they left in because they were to lazy to remove it. in many games you can find such things like never used placeholder textures old sound files etc
