As omega said.. loading the BMP is a necessary step for you to assign tex id's..

Anyway as you may have noticed.. the model in game does not have the same shading detail as those rendered in a 3d software.. so you might want to adjust your textures a little to improve the shadings.. or maybe you can just add light effects using kimera.. or better use both methods.. It could yield better results.. ;) :D ;D

Hi people. Haven't been on for quite a while. Here's an update on my Cid model. I'm currently texturing it now.

New update. Here are the rough colors. I'll be adding details like sewing, folds and stuff in the texture.

I am especially fond of the face. I am not sure I like the plain colouring of the lenses though...

Great job there!

I'm gonna fix this for sure some day, just not right now. I'm also gonna remodel his hair with planes with transparency.

Here's an update

If you want to keep the spikiness but still have that fading off to alpha, you can keep the mesh, and when texturing alpha the hair mask at the end -> thats how they did it in AdventChildren (albeit with ultra highrez textures and meshes).

This way, you could maintain the stylish anime hair, as well as get some quality hair textures in.

The only thing i'd add is a plan covering the base of 'cone' with more unalpha'd hair, to simulate the scalp, on the change the camera pans perpendicular to the spike and could see into his head.

That's what I meant to say. Didn't know they did that for advent children though. I thought they used a fur and hair system. It's lot more simple and realistic, gets affected by the wind and stuff.

It's been a few months since the last post, I know, but I would like to know if this model is still being completed. It is the best Cid I have seen.

Can't resist. Kaldarasha isn't finished with this yet but it's amazing I think--another upcoming model from his Unshaded project.

The face in the "shaded" version looks so realistic! :)

He's finished, but the goggles aren't transparent in battle (didn't get it to work :?). I release him, if I'm finished with Yuffie and Vincent. But for the moment you guys could bother Template. :P He has my permission to share him.

Ten million dollars for his head.
Poor old Cid is used to waiting.
He looks good so he's worth the attention.

Really looking forward to this; Cid looks kinda weird next to all my other hi-rez models.

Update:

I found a new motivation for this project. Making it into a playable character in Super Smash Bros Brawl. I'll be working intensely on it now.
