Completely Unrelated / KOTOR II (PC)
« on: 2006-05-19 17:49:48 »
I was just wondering if anyone else knew there was a project going on on this....
Been keeping an eye on it for a while... Seems like forever, really. They still aren't done with it.
Looks like huge improvements...if they ever finish it.

General Discussion / Who made the Chocobo patch?
« on: 2004-06-02 18:28:14 »
I started wondering about this, so I might as well ask.

I think the handle was jedwin?

But who was it really....I mean, what happened to this guy. I never see him on the forum. After solving that crash he should be a household name, don't you think?....well for those that own FF7PC and WinXP, anyway.

And I think I recall that the name jedwin was just an alias.....

Did you guys know that this game has finally been translated.... (I didn't)

http://radicaldreamers.sourceforge.net/

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm going to.

You shouldn't need a patcher...seem that they provided one as an Executable...direction are in the readme (the readme file is kinda fun to read), you have to rename the game file to rad-j.smc.

Well I just completed one of the endings....looks like it has 7. All I can say is, Impressive! Now I know, where Crono Cross came from, the stories are very simular...kinda a rough draft for Cross, but with a few subtleties.

Do you mind if other sites carry your programs?

Not that it really matters or anything but I was doing some surfing and stumbled onto this spanish site, and it has Griever as one the downloads.

General Discussion / Question about FF9 saving on PS2
« on: 2003-01-21 04:25:56 »
Is it just me, or does FF9 not want to save on a PS2?

Is there a work around for this?

or do I have a bad memory chip....FF10 saves fine on it.

When I posted this FFX was ahead by 2 votes. (guess it was 1 before I did mine)

General Discussion / Planet of the Apes (2001)
« on: 2001-12-04 01:47:00 »
I just saw this movie....and I was wondering, what do you think the ending means....

I figured out a pretty outragous theory..... and heard a simplified version, from a friend of mine.

This is known.....Leo (His name was Leo, right?) get thrown in time. Future probably. His home/mothership gets lost in time looking for him. About 10,000 years  (I think?) in the past, of where Leo gets thrown. The Lab Apes killed off some, of the people, of the Research Ship and evolved during that time to where Leo is now. (It had to be some of the people...because the Human Race is still alive. And The planet had to be barren or they wouldn't have needed the Lab Apes to survive....This is concluded through that video, playback, that was in the ruins, of the mothership)

The ending can go two ways.
That 'General' of the Apes learned how to travel in time and goes to the distant, distant Past. A past far further than Leo went.....back when human were first evolving and changed  the History of the Human Race. (in-breeding?).

The other ending is this. Leo was thrown into the more distant, future. Where the General Ape is remembered as the Being that discovered Human technology or a great leader...or something. (I don't know where the Humans are in all this, wiped out, probably....or in zoos?).

Your probably thinking...
Well, why does that city he crash-landed in, looks exactly like Washington DC; and the Memoral, looks like the Lincoln Memoral. My answer is: 'Because, that what they were built on.' (City ruins)

I think that the Apes found the Human's old cities, culture, Data (in the forbiden zone, or beyond it). And followed them as a blueprint. I believe that they built their version of Washington DC, on top of the ruins of Washington DC. Kinda like if we rebuilt the Pyrimids and Spinx to our image....with all those years of corrosion and a biological attack (couldn't be nuclear, not if the building are still standing) they just gave our old cities a facelift, of sorts.

The reason for the Ford cars? Well....those were the cars that they found in a data chip, or something. Same for the guns, and the uniforms.

:naughty:

If there is a sequel....They will probably use the Simple version.

General Discussion / Some news on FF movie, DVD release.

The best time to buy DVD movies is during the first week of release (Well for us in the States it is anyway, from 'Best Buy'). The reason? Because, 'Best Buy' competes with Online prices during that first week.

General Discussion / FF9 Pal patch....UK
« on: 2001-08-02 06:13:00 »
I think there is a patch...I'd look for it if I knew where to look. News at the ePSXe forum is that there is a patch for the PAL version. I asked one of the guys to link it here...but I guess he didn't.

Anyway, happy hunting.

I guess this is it?
  http://www.megagames.com/psx/psx_patches_f.shtml" TARGET=_blank>http://www.megagames.com/psx/psx_patches_f.shtml

Patch Instructions:
First make a CD-Image using CDRWIN (using the RAW-Option):
Start CDRWIN.
In the CDRWIN - CDROM  Recording Tools window click Extract Disc/Tracks/Sectors to Image File.
Enter the Image Filename:
- for example: C:TEMPIMAGE.BIN
Leave all other settings Default - make sure the RAW option is selected!
When ready click START to create the CD-Image file on harddisk.
This will create the CD-Image file (C:TEMPIMAGE.BIN) and the CD-Image Cuesheet (C:TEMPIMAGE.CUE).
Extract the Patch Archive to the path containing the CD-Image file.
Open a DOS-Box/MS-DOS Prompt and change directory to the path containing the CD-Image file (and patch).
Patch the CD-Image file (IMAGE.BIN) by executing either:
For the PPF Releases:  Use the PPF Patch Engine
For the P4U Releases:  Use the PAL4U Patcher
For the older Paradox (PDX) Releases execute:
For most Respect (RSP) Releases execute:  RSPatch
Burn the CD-Image onto a CD-R:
In the CDRWIN - CDROM  Recording Tools window click Record.
Click Load Cuesheet and select the CD-Image Cuesheet (C:TEMPIMAGE.CUE).
Click Start Recording.
When ready: Play the "Patched" Game!

NOTE: For now only CDRWIN can be used to patch PSX games. A free Demo version which writes at 1x speed is available at  Goldenhawk.com.

General Discussion / I Have to share!
« on: 2001-07-24 06:51:00 »
I found this in a interview thingy....I like what I see....uhh...read.

Q: What are your strategies for the packaged and online software market in Asia?

A: (Hiramatsu) The PlayStation software market in Asia is concentrated on pirate software, and we've been fighting a tough battle against piracy along with Sony Computer Entertainment. We have been releasing software through SCE, but the sales levels have been rather small. The PlayStation 2 has not gone on sale outside of Japan yet, either.
We have also released Final Fantasy VII and VIII for the PC, each of which has sold in the tens of thousands in Taiwan and Korea. That is a much stronger market to participate in, so we are still cautiously proceeding with packaged software.
(executive director Hideaki Morishita) "Online games are far more impervious to piracy, since server access fees can be collected even if the client software is copied... As we discussed during the three-company agreement, we are looking at the Asian and American online market as a whole, so we would like to actively explore the Asian market in the future."

I don't know what it really means....but I think it means that PC versions are going to be a high option for Square.

And I really don't think that 'Kindom Hearts' is going to cut it in the States.....Donald Duck meets FF? I doubt many people will buy it.

General Discussion / New sound plug in for ePSXe
« on: 2001-06-17 00:34:00 »
Pete has made a new plug in...
It sound pretty good for Crono. But FF9 is a mixed blessing. The sound is better than the Core sound, but worse than Null's. The movies Play real good, though. So it's more of a balance between the core and Null's.

From my experence Null's sounds real bad in Crono. The core sound is the best sounding one for my computer with that game. But Pete's plugin doesn't hang on those certain notes, and plays the movies about the same as the core, but the footfalls sound terrible. Anyway....guess it's a keeper, but it still needs to be improved.

Figured, someone here might want their hands on this...this leaked version?

It looks too advanced to do...at least for me...but if you don't mind downloading a 150meg program. I guess you can fix your DirectX8.0a into b.

I guess this would be considered an Alpha DirectX patch.

Anyway at least you'll no what is broken on DirectX8.0a, by the link above.
