So apparently my email stopped getting emails when someone posted on this thread. That's annoying. lol

Any news on a ballpark ETA for .040? I seriously can't play with REDXIII and Aeris broken like this. But I'm also stubborn and won't revert to the default models. Woe is me. ;)

I agree, i really hope the next version will be completely free of bugs like this.

Well, from what I've heard, once the ULGP tool is fixed, this problem will be fixed. And I think PitBrat is just waiting for it to be fixed before he releases .040.

Don't take my word for it though. ;)

Last night I discovered how to fix my cait sith weapons. Some polys are backwards and that was causing the issue where you see through them at certain angles. ill fix this asap and set up the file as i did before. If its too late to get into bootleg ill create an installer for them to make it easy and quick for people.

You're just in time for Bootleg.  I just started testing today.  I'll definitely add the Vait Sith weapons.

I'm still looking for volunteers to test the beta!

I suggest you make a beta thread and release it there as beta so any new users will download and test it and post their issues there.

I agree with this idea.

I'm down to do some beta testing, when my work schedule allows. =)

Too bad I don't think I can finish the cid model in time for it to be included.. got worse of luck today, can't access my external HDD where I have all my modding stuff.

I never got 0.39 to work properly on my netbook before must be because of the intel chipset it uses, I got a new laptop but since most of the mods i'm using are not included 0.39 I didn't bother to install it, I'll gladly help testing 0.40 so a beta release might be good.

Most likely. All of that kind of goes in hand with a new release.

I am so excited for the next release of Bootleg. I just got WHDI working. I transfer 1080p video and audio to my TV in the living room from my office, whenever I want to play games with the controller. This game is going to be awesome in the living room  :) Just like good old times on the PSX.

Thanks again Pitbrat and all the authors that have contributed to this compilation of mods.

Everything is ready and working with Bootleg .040.
Except I have one slight issue.
When installing the character models, there is a separate selection for each main character's field model.
One of the options is NO CHANGE.
But, there is another area where the user can select the BASE MODELS: PRP or Rebuilded or Chibi or NO CHANGE.
When the user selects a BASE MODELS option other than NO CHANGE, all of the main character models associated with that option are installed too.
Therefore if the user selects NO CHANGE for Cloud's field model and selects PRP for the BASE MODELS, the PRP field model for Cloud will install.

I could release .040 like it is, or I can take more time to make the field model selection less confusing.

My vote is spend more time to fix it. Otherwise, I am going to predict a lot of repeated questions about it.

This, by far. I think do it right, or not at all. And remove any possible things that could result in more work. ;)

I've had a quick read through this whole thread and saw the same problem that I'm having - after installing the Remix, the Bootleg Installer just closes itself. I've got no idea why! A few other people seemingly had this issue but I couldn't find answers to it.

Any idea's?

Thank you for keeping up with this pitbrat, i play FF7 every couple years and this has made it easy to use all the graphical upgrades everyones worked on. Cant wait to use whiteraven's edited models^^, If you need a tester lemme know

For the .40 i was wondering if there was a way to make it so if you changed individual NO CHANGE options the BASE option would become grayed out and unselectable/unchangeable.

Hello Everyone,

I think this is my first post here...known about the Qhimm forums forever, just cant remember if I've ever posted lol. Anyways, I've finally gotten through this entire thread looking for a specific answer but haven't found it.

I've got the 2012 release of the game, used the Kranmer mod to convert it, and installed the entire bootleg 0039. I initially had some issues getting the game to start, and after trying numerous options that I found here, I just did a full reinstall.

Now, I can get the game to start, but as soon as I press ANY button, the game crashes.  The error message is:

Oops! Something very bad happened.
Wrote crash.dump to FF7 install dir.
Please provide a copy of it along with APP.LOG when reporting this error.
Write emergency save to save/crash.ff7?

Is anyone still following this thread?  8)

Still not having any luck. I've uninstalled/reinstalled probably half a dozen times now. Each time I run the BFE I get a few alerts through Security Essentials, and a few notepad files popup with errors, not sure if either of those are relevant. I understand the security alerts are safe and should be ignored.

Also, I tried using the old PC version of FF7 as well. Installed it, ran BFE, and I'm getting the exact same error and result. The game will open, but if I press any button it crashes and gives the "Oops.." message.  Both versions of the game (Original and 2012 release) run fine until I install the mods, so it's got to be something in there that is causing a conflict. I've got a Windows machine, 7 Pro x64, NVIDIA card and Intel CPU, if any of that makes a difference.

If anyone is reading this thread still any input would be greatly appreciated!

Shaun

Kman, it's really close to the next release. I think most are burnt on problem solving 0039. Here's to a perfect 0040 release  :)
