Does FF7Music work under XP???

When I apply the patch the game displays this error:
runtime error 217 at 0001A780
and then something about application
0xc0000142

plz help

I've got the midi working on XP just fine, it maybe they you haven't got the latest drivers for your sound-card, or you're using the wrong settings on FF7 config.

Try using, if you have got them:

-Midi Driver-
Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth

-Midi Data-
General Midi

If that doesn't work, try using 'Windows Update' (located usually on the Start-bar) And scan for any driver updates, or any compatibility updates.

Sorry I can't help you that much, but I don't really know what Sound-card you've got, or anything really.

Ughh the exact same thing happens to me....im running at windows xp, soundblaster audigy,gf2 gts...also when i open the centra tool i get:run-time error 217 at 0001A780 but other than that everything seems to work...

well I don't want to listen to midis
I would like to hear mp3's in Final Fantasy VII

Wouldn't we all rather that they used MP3s instead of Midis? The only problem with that is, is that it would be too big to put on 4 discs, and they didn't have MP3s in 1996 so they couldn't of anyway.
