The old external texture feature would probably work here, just put those magic numbers in the TIM files, hopefully they will show up on the other side.

Can someone explain this method? :P
If im right, he's refering to the EXT method of injection before he had added the fancy mod folder. Its a matter of hex editing a few bytes in the header of your images. Download the TA overhaul and extract some of the .tex files and open them in any hex editor. You should see "EXT XXXXX" in the header, with the XXXs referring to the name of the new external texture, which i cannot recall where it needs to be placed :P

But FFVII doesn't use mesh deformation, and converting to bone... it will not look like this=(

(Image of squall)

Nice work, though that Squall does look a little feminine.

Just registered to say this is fantastic. Those models look completely revitalized.

It's hard to believe it's from the same game. Looking forward to see this project continue, and hopefully make it ingame some time.

Ifrit looks good, but Squall is amazing.
Looking back on how ugly the original was, you've really done a great job to make it look this good without even changing the geometry.

Great work FeliX. I have been wanting to find a way to re texture the world map and all the 2D background images and battle screens basically everything but the 3D models as you are obviously working on that. I have no experience doing this stuff but I do have Adobe CS5 Master Collection if that would help doing the 2D stuff or would I need something completely different. Let me know what kind of programs I would need to extract the images of the 2D stuff and what I would need to edit them besides photoshop. Can't wait to see more of your 3D models

To extract any textures from FFVIII you need Noesis (noesisv283) and you can edit with photoshop cs5 the textures on a 3d model directly (open the .obj file with photoshop, open a texture slot inside a photoshop and drag and drop the original texture there so you can edit it). But the project is pending cause the way now we tryed to inject textures didn't work right, so I pray for that Aali can make the modpath workin with this textures
