EQ, thank you, and yes I can see how that would be the case. I'll stand by until 0040 is released, see if I have any luck with it. Thank you,

Shaun

Keep in mind that Intel video cards are not compatible with Bootleg.

I correct the base models conflict.
There are a lot of model choices in .040.
Cloud has 22 field models and 10 battle models!

I still need to fix all the presets.

Remix is still required for a few options.
I never found a working link to the OCRemix tracks.

Also, does anyone know what movies the Remix uses?
I believe most of them are Grimmy's.

Not much changed in the list . . .
But it took me 4 hours to fix the base models.

PIT,

I have an Intel CPU, not an Intel video card. I'm using an NVIDIA card.

I realize that the newer bootleg is on it's way, but just in case this is an issue post 0040 release, and others are having the same issue, just wanna keep this out there.

If anyone is following, I've narrowed the issue down to the Menu Overhaul mod. I started with a fresh install on the 1998 FF7, installed the 1.02 patch, Aali's driver, FF7 Music, FMV Restoration, FacePalmer textures (testing playability after each mod install). All was fine up to this point. Next was the Menu Overhaul. I don't recall exactly which options I chose, but this caused the same crash and error I had been receiving.  After running the Menu Overhaul app again and choosing to Uninstall, I ran the game just fine. Reinstalled it, and it crashed.

So there is something that does not work with Menu Overhaul project and my particular system (which sucks because I'm playing at 1080p and the smoothness of the fonts and everything are gorgeous. Again, I have Windows 7 Pro x64, and NVIDIA graphics card and an Intel CPU, both version of FF7 PC (1998 and 2012) are crashing in the exact same way, with the exact same error.

DTard,
The world and minigame models are installed based on the field and battle model selection.

e1sunz,
Thanks oodles!  That's one more piece of the Remix that I can lump.
EDIT:
Could you fix part 5?  Part 5 is not the final part of the archive.  Winrar generates an error when it reaches part 5.  It's a standalone archive.

Does anyone know the source of the Remix videos?  Quite a few of Grimmy's videos are included.  I'd like to make sure there's an alternate download for all of the videos before I completely remove Remix from the mods list.

So now the mods list will only require the Remix (by turning it red) if the user selects the original APZ Cloud model or the Remix videos.
Is it absurd to create another archive containing only the videos from the Remix?
I first need to know whose videos they are so that I can ask permission.

Hi there everyone :)

First and foremost, I just stumbled across this project and I honestly think it is amazing. Thank you all for the hard work that you have put into it.

I've skimmed about 15 pages (a bit of the first few and a bit of the last few pages) and I was wondering if with the update to Bootleg 0.40 if we would need to re-download the torrent pack (20GB) in the first post? Also does Bootleg work with the original PC game only or also with the new remake released in August (I think it was August)?

I'm at Uni right now so I'm trying my best not to play this until finals are over lol, but I want to get all the files ready while I'm at the Uni with unlimited bandwidth :D

Just to also confirm all that I need for the mod to work is:
-The original PC game patched to 1.02 (not sure if the remake is supported too)
-Bootleg mod (exe)
-The mod pack (torrent)

Thanks all,

Cheers

The upcoming Bootleg .040 has nearly the same mod requirements as the last version.
The mod pack torrent contains almost everything you need for a complete install.
There are a few changes and additions.

The big ones include:

Omzy's FF7 Field Pack.zip                       Omzy            FacePalmer Version 2.0 with Updates     Qhimm FILE

Nightmare Files 1.rar                           Tenko Kuugen    Nightmare Overhaul Game Files           Qhimm FILE

Nightmare flevel slim.rar                       Tenko Kuugen    Nightmare Overhaul Flevel               Qhimm FILE

Nightmare OST.part1.rar                         Tenko Kuugen    Nightmare Overhaul Soundtrack           Qhimm FILE

Nightmare OST.part2.rar                         Tenko Kuugen    Nightmare Overhaul Soundtrack           Qhimm FILE

Nightmare OST.part3.rar                         Tenko Kuugen    Nightmare Overhaul Soundtrack           Qhimm FILE

@PitBrat, no, I was just wondering if for the release of Bootleg .40 if you were going to have a thread for the beta testers to apply or test out the changes, or if you were going to just release the while thing and fix it as it goes?

Erm is your game the 1998 version or the 2012 re-release version? You could try just installing Anxious Heart on top here:
http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=12787.0
Or maybe try reinstalling and select something else apart from PSF MIDI

So Omzy's Field Pack is basically the V3 of Facepalmer, right?  Also, will it be added to a torrent any time soon?  My internet connection is fast but isn't very stable and always cuts out before finishing even with high speeds.

Hey guys, I have tried troubleshooting with VGR and PitBrat in the BratChat, havn't really gotten anywhere.  I have a 64 bit system, however when bootleg tries to run it reports a 32 bit system found ( i found this strange ).  On top of that I have reinstalled many times in all different locations (even everything to an external drive) and I STILL get the "Access Denied" error.  The only case that I have not gotten this error is when I put BFE+Bootleg+All the mods in the same folder as the install in which case it goes up to Patching Kernel... (the first time I did it with everything in the same folder it went up to Preparing MAGIC.LGP...).  Regardless of these cases, I should be able to get past the access denied by running it simply with BFE+Bootleg+mods in a different folder.  (it may be possible that one of the many times I installed/uninstalled I left behind some files, this seems unlikely though)

I have antivirus turned off (MSE)
UAC is disabled (slider all the way down)
I am the admin on my comp (actually the only profile on it)
Everything is in a non-system folder (currently F:\Games, game and bootleg separate of course)

My Laptop is only a few months old, and I noticed that other people all posted about this, as far as I saw it was still open though. (JowHoof, ic6n, and a few others)

If there is any advice that anyone can offer it would be much appreciated.

Torrent, then when that began to take awhile (bottom 50%) I went to individually dling them.  I then replaced the files in the torrent so it would be complete so I could seed (also to check I had everything).

hey,
sorry if this has been previously addressed, but i noticed that the remix installer is sort of redundantly listed (the full .exe., a 4-part archive, and a 13-part archive); do i need to download all of this? or can i just pick one of the above?

The Remix, or any other duplicate archives, only need one of them. Either the standalone, the 4-parts one OR the 13-parts one.

Here's the most recent torrent: http://www.mediafire.com/?diwh9cq1kk81kdd

I haven't seeded at all for a few weeks, so I'll do it all weekend for you.

Are you saying re-dl everything just for good measure?  Thanks!  So I should just wait for this torrent to complete just to be sure I have all the right files?

Also this one is only 15 gigs where the other was 19... Does it contain everything I will need?

It was still worth the shot. Now we can rule out the mods and strictly focus on it being your computer setup.

Are any internet browsers open while you are attempting to install?

I have never done this before, but maybe you can try booting to Safe Mode and installing.
