Hey friends long time no see!

I have the same issue as Darxide, and my game driver is at 2048.

I have two GTX1080s in STI, which could possibly cause problems (STI is the worst) BUT I don't think its a lack of power problem.

I have the APP and Crashdump files here maybe they could help us figure it out.

The last thing that happens in the App file is it tries to access a system32 dll before it throws an unhandled exception, which sounds to me like load order issue

The only thing I have done to defer away from this load order and recommended settings are a couple of model changes AND I have used XInput plus to make the dpad work.

I also am struggling to add attachments... So here is a google drive folder

I really like the sound of drop down music selection (get it?)

whoever said about previewing the music, I shouldn't think that would be that hard, excepting that you may have to use a built in music player. I imagine something like winamp would fit nicely as it doesn't have to be anything fancy.

Just code a play button that will call whichever file is highlighted by the drop down. I might even be able to figure this out if you want the help Alyza? (I come across coding a bit in my new job, it would probably be VBA code as that is what I know, but that should be alright for a subapp?)

I've never heard before of enemies always attacking only one character, so not sure what a solution could be for that. I do advise in getting rid of Red Werewolf and CHaOS for now. The next update is going to remove their categories from the Catalog, and I will put their models and features into some of the other categories after some thorough testing. If you want to help with that, I may be able to set you up with a test Catalog for it.

Did this, fresh reinstall, ran registry clean up and ccleaner. Then installed all mods except red and CHaOS. Now enemies attack Tifa until I use cure magic, then they attack barret and they alternate target every time I use cure. I then installed CHaOS again and this made everyon attack Tifa, no change on cure.

I have just uninstalled all mods and now it goes back to alternating target. Do the mods leave any trace when the are deactivated? I shall run another fresh install anyway to see if I get the same error on the steam vanilla and then again after I convert the game.

Oh man, I have derped so hard.

there is no problem, Tifa just has crap stats. After I levelled a bit and balanced the team, everything is fine. Derpy derpy derp

Yes, but my point was that it doesn't matter. When I played FF7 the first time round I didn't know about language barriers and translations. I enjoyed the game for a) what it was and b) how I interpreted it.

Mainly because the style left a lot to interpretation, as far as I am concerned.

My really big point is that I now feel like I am defending my opinion or my interpretation, surely you can see a problem with that.

I found some solace in that post, I remain excited.

Also this isn't a debate forum last time I checked, we are all entitled to our own opinions. For example, I did interpret a sex scene between Cloud and Tifa.

What I'm trying to say is that the walls of text attacking each others opinions and ideas are boring and in some cases slightly insulting. Doesn't make for a place where discussion can be cultured.

Well, I for one have learnt a lot, mainly from you Mayo and I certainly do not consider the project a waste of time just because square are doing it instead.

I have to admit I agree though there isn't much point carrying on, at least until we see how square do it, maybe after square's release there may still be a place for this mod.

I will enjoy playing through your sector 5 when it is added to 7th heaven and I would have liked to have seen your Nibelheim. I may still try to complete my scene, but only for two reasons. Firstly the experience of completing a scene and secondly so that I can say I added something to this community before square took up the challenge.

Thanks for your great contributions and your mentoring, its been invaluable. To be clear I am also not leaving qhimm. I will find other ways to be useful.

In that respect, what I'm rather hoping for is that the devs of the remake of FF7 won't be constrained by some kind of "20th anniversary deadline". I believe we would agree that they'd take their time to polish this one (it's not like waiting for 1 or 2 more years will matter.
This is the clincher for me. I think the entire fanbase would agree that they shouldn't rush it.

I'll be remaining reasonably optimistic, but that's just me. If the remake doesn't turn out well, I'll still have plenty of other games to play.
And a Nibelheim to get back to work on ;)

ok, so I think I have a problem with my registry keys... or maybe my load order.

This is route I have taken.

Initially I did a fresh reinstall, redownloaded FF7 (using steam version on windows 8) cleaned the registry keys, however I did not run ccleaner... not sure why now I think about it my logic was flawed.

Error 1) Couldn't get HD battle models, switched load order so that battle - characters was above CHaOS, worked fine.

Error 2 ) Yuffie killed me, went vanilla on the gameplay mod, worked fine

Missing Palettes, not really an error but I played with my load order before asking about it.

Error 3) Latest Error, as time goes on everyone attacks Tifa. No matter where she is in the party. At first it was just melee attacks that focused on her, but now its magic as well. Not had many ranged enemy encounters.

I think I need to do a fresh reboot again, but if anyone can see an obvious error, please let me know

Very true. Despite my criticisms I remain optimistic. I am one of the loud community that begged for a remake and I have got it. What moral standing can I have against it?

This does not make me stop wishing that they would open up preorder tomorrow for £10, take the 20mil and give it half to sakaguchi and half to Uematsu to join the team old bad blood forgotten.

BUT, square does listen and I am excited for it. Shame though my contributions never made it to the game :'(

I am very interested in two things.

How much interpretation we will be allowed in a full HD 3D Voice over remake. I mean things like blacking out and hearing voices. In text you think they are your own voice at first, later you are unsure, it could be Sephiroth, etc. How will this be portrayed, will these sorts of scenes be lost. I am concerned that a lot of games these days are heavily tutorial focused and often lead you along.

How will the remake cope with the new feel of the game. This point came out of a conversation with my brother yesterday. A lot of the plot and scenes from the 97 game were pretty close to the bone and though the devs were trying to make it quite serious (I think) it often came out cute. For example Barret being angry, waving his arms in the air. Or the already discussed cloud in a dress scene.

To be honest I hope they go for serious and realistic. This will make it cringy at times. Cloud convincing people that he is a whore... I really hope it makes my skin crawl.
Will they, in the modern day culture, dare to make the terrorists the heroes and soldiers the enemy?

Personally? I would support Square a little more (especially with remake announcement) and by FF7 on steam.

Then I would use 7th heaven. Its kept more up to date, unless BL2.0 is closer than I think.

SO just to be clear, is there a problem with my setup which causes these popups? or is it something that will basically always happen?

Hey guys, I am getting a glitch error message I am familiar with, I just want to check I am not going to break the game by implementing.

So I am getting error message feedback, something like glitch: error missing field mdsv/blah blah

Im not overly concerned, I am happy with the way the game looks and happy to carry on playing.

I just want to know if adding the following lines to OpenGL.cfg will work when using 7th heaven?

# Disable Error Notifications
disable_popup = on

(I know this is sort of a workaround, so the exact error message I am getting is:

I have also had a couple of others, but not near savepoints, this occurs the first time I approach the Avalanche base/7th heaven bar area

I have tried moving my load order around, I have had to put the battle character models before ChaoS to change the character models. I can list my load order if this is the problem. I have disabled the gameplay and story mod as yuffie kept killing me in the first battle instead of the intro NPCs :P)

I did not play crisis core, I also did not know about this trailer.

I was bored 1.30 in and cringing 30secs in. If this happens... fern.

On the story mode/battle scene realism thing, I think the telltale scene was the kalm flashback. The only unrealistic part of the flashback, sephiroths power, was done in a controllable battle scene. Coincidence?

So I am getting ready to do another play through.

What do we reckon is the best set up as it stands? I usually just install through bootleg, but I might use 7th heaven this time.

who else is doing a playthrough? do we reckon its worth waiting for a few months, round off a few projects and get and make an "as far as we got before remake release" playthrough?

Well, I am going to be very excited about this. Put everything on hold and pray that it is a good thing. How much money would you pay to play your favourite game for the first time again?

Afterwards, I'll either be straight back on helping with the mods of the original. Or I will STFU, have faith in square forever and die happy

I know you have mentioned the shape of the geological formations, but also consider the size. They may not be, but to my eyes they all look a similar size.

also are they supposed to be fir tree shaped? I remember them being more weird shaped

That definitely helps! I rememebr that subdivision of a square method from one of my first tutorials lol, i just didn't think of applying it to complex shapes like windows or parts that cross edge boundaries lol I'll play some more, maybe not tonight though I'm knackered. Lot's of overtime at real work at the moment :P First day I have got home in time for a week!

Well it is mainly the features like the windows and wheel arches, At the moment to create these I am Makig my Shape as a solid and then creating other shapes to subtract from that solid.

The problem with this is it isn't very accurate, for example until I have nearly finished the whole thing I cant really tell how the windscreen columns or the curvature of the bonnet will look. As in I think it looks fine until I leave it a little while and then come back to it.

I'll grab a copy of Solidworks from work (if I can) this week and have a play, but by all means I am willing to take advice!

I have stopped texturing for a bit to remodel some aspects of the truck that the lighting highlighted to my atention.

As a side I am also looking at options to use solidworks models in blender. Probably not the best way forward, but with blender I am doing a certain amount of fudging; I know I could knock up the exterior of a truck like this in a few hours on solidworks and it would be about a thousand times more realistic :P

Just want to give it a go and see how it turns out
