btw how can i change 1 option? do i gotta run bootleg all over as it re-does my whole configuration?

i got 'always run' on, and i dont want that.'

and again i must say i am AMAZED - at how it does everything and how awesome it is.

edit: everything is working okay except my cloud doesn't display his sword during combat...its invisible,
and barret only has an outline of a skin, going to try another model for him....but is there anyway to change these things manually? because im having to have to run bootleg as it configures the whole game over and over

edit2: okay got the cloud weapons to work by using the installer weapon pack...gona try running bootleg again with another barret model. a few enemies been missing textures, like the shinra soldiers faces - will see that next with higher res mod


Also btw I'm using windows 7 64bit
Will all this be much smoother if I use xp 32bit?

update: OKay guys i got everythign working perfect, how ever no music, i hear sound FX and stuff, but no music! any way to remove the ff7 ficedula mod or what can i do? i dont mind just using default music.

ok im all set, hehe was missing a  # in my opengl.cfg  - that # caused me like 8 hours of tension last 2 days :(

Hi,
 fisrt post here but I've been reading for some weeks now :)
I'm currently playing ff7 new->old->bootleg039 and I'm stuck in rocket city just after the launch. After the dialogue, just after Cid tells about the capsule. The game seems to freeze (all the keys seems to do nothing and the characters doesn't move). I can access the menu using the load anywhere shortcut, so I can save and reload and I can see the dialogue again and again. I've tried to load from a previous save (just before entering rocket town) with the same result :(

Hey, like to thank all the folks that provide the people with all these great mods.

Anyway, Ive installed Bootleg 39 and im having a small problem.



As you can see, during a battle, the character models are missing textures.

Half of Aeris missing. No weapon for Cloud.

I have these checked mark:

HQ aeries
Hi res classic Cloud battle model
Cloud sword Millenia
Team Ava HR
strayoffs Condor
Battle scenes as LGP

Any ideas?

I have the exact same thing happening in mine. Only I tried turning off HQ Aeris and running Bootleg again, and still got the same result. Is there no way to fix this? What about Cloud's weapons? :(

tarter, try running bootleg again, and on the "models" tab, under "base models" click no change....

i fought that issue for hours, but when i ran it with "no change" and chose the models i wanted for cloud, barret and etc....it worked.

A little question : I always had with my bootleg modded FF7 just ONE black band at the bottom of my display monitor( 27' ), but no black band at the top.. It's appear in the always in the game EXCEPT in battle, where I haven't any black band like this. Here is a screenshot taken in the game showing this :
PS : I play in 1920*1050 screen resolution in Bootloader, and 3840*2160 at Internal resolution, here are screens of my bootloader config :

This is normal. FF7 does this even without mods, and so far nobody's made a mod to prevent it.

Thank you Pit for your work in this mod compilation installer.  I know I wouldn't have bothered without it.  Thanks to everyone else who's in here answering the slew of questions in Pits absence as well, it helped me at the very least narrow down potential problems.

The first question was about an error when using Yuffie (game crash) that I found out to be due to the model being broken.  Easy fix, reinstalling without it.

The second question is with regards to the 2D environments (The FacePalmer, et al mods).  I have the "bootlegged" option checked, per the "Tifa's Bootleg" recommendation (<~~~Thanks for that by the way), and I must say my backgrounds look like absolute dog sh*t comparatively speaking to the samples posted.  In all honesty they look like the vanilla textures.  My mods folder does have a space in it's name due to how the torrent was named that I picked up all the mods from, but seeing as how everything else works I'm thinking that space issue was probably fixed somewhere along the lines.  I confess to not reading all 73 pages of posts.

I'm running @ 1920x1080 on a GTX 690 (yea overkill, I know) with the Advanced HDR option settings enabled on the loader.  I tried @ 1280x720 and they looked just as bad, in case that's brought up as a solution.

I have no idea how to translate the above stuff, but I assume someone knowledgeable could at least discern if bootleg thinks it installed those backgrounds properly.  I have every mod in the torrent posted, and they all pop up nice and green on the mod listing page.

Any who, any input on which setting will produce the least terribly pixelated environment for my almost 15 year old nostalgia would be greatly appreciated.

I need to update those preview images. Sorry about that. The space issue was fixed in an earlier release, so you're okay there. You've also installed and are running the mods from non-system folders, which is also good. So let's work on the actual textures....

When running Bootleg, I recommend installing the FacePalmer field textures, and leave "Remove Glitched" unchecked. We don't have to do Bootleg all over though. They can be installed manually.

1) Go > HERE < and download Omzy's (aka FacePalmer) updated field textures. These came out after Bootleg 0039, so you won't get them downloading from the Mod Listing or the Torrent. Once you've downloaded them, extract them into a folder named "field"

2) You should have these 4 fixes to FacePalmer textures inside the Torrent. They are labeled like this:

Keep in mind that these are only the field textures. The battle textures have yet to be completed (couple dead projects  :( ) and the world map still has a few missing textures.

The internal resolution is fine at the default setting you mentioned. When I increase it, the quality increase is barely noticeable while the performance hits are noticeable.

tarter, try running bootleg again, and on the "models" tab, under "base models" click no change....

i fought that issue for hours, but when i ran it with "no change" and chose the models i wanted for cloud, barret and etc....it worked.
From experience if you want to have both certain field model and battle model you need to make sure the battle texture is set to the max possible or else... you'll end up with missing texture.
Download PCreator and then in the options check Battle Model. Now open up the model file(assuming you've extracted battle.lpg) for the conflicting battle model for example cloud would be siaa and rtaa (found on https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AniNoDVsrYhVdG0zZERUT0tsOF91eHE2WHo4ZWRseWc&gid=3). Change the number of texture to 10.
Then repackage your damn LGP
Voila. You are now allowed both high res field and battle model...
Lots of work but.... it's worth it.

Hey everyone
 I am having a big problem on my game now. I'm hoping you guys can help me out. 

It seems that after I installed the newest Nvidia Drivers (306.10) I have broken my FF7.
  Here's what it's doing. When you start it up, it plays the movie just fine, but when it switches to the screen to pick new or cont. I am sitting at a black screen. 
  I tried clicking the button just to see if it would go on and play, ended up picking new hehe
The movie played just fine, but once it came time for it to switch from movie (with train) to background to run around, it goes to a black screen. Doesn't crash at all BTW.

 I've tried using the FF7Config to reset everything, didn't help. I even changed setting in the BootLoader. I've talso tried a few different resolutions. No luck.
 
  I'm at a lose as to why the drivers broke it.
 Does anyone maybe have some idea on what happened, or what's going on with it?

 So I went ahead and reinstalled with Bootleg and I'll have you know it fixed it!  BUT was it broken to begin with?  hehehehe  Short Answer?  Nope!
  Long story? , I found out that my drivers had nothing to do with the problem, it was my EVGA precision X causing the black screen after the movies. There's this setting in the option to show onscreen numbers  it's called "On-Screen Display rendering mode" Mine was set on Vector 3d. After switching it to 2d, game working just fine again.  So I didn't have to reinstall after all... Oh well. Maybe this will help someone out there if they ever come across this.

 I have a gtx 560.
Checked around, I didn't come across anything in my options that changed. So far Nvidia didn't add any folders or settings for FF7.   The game just up and went black  :(
 Thanks for the help though.
 
 If all else fails, I guess trying to reinstall Bootleg might get it working again.  It's just so weird. It's like the game doesn't want to show the game other than movies.

First, I would like to thank all the people involved in these awesome mods, it's really nice being able to play FF7 with updated everything.

I have one installation problem though: I applied the mods with the Bootleg (after downloading everything from the 19 Gig torrent) but during battles, only Cloud original battle models appears (Barret modded battle model does appear). I have selected the full preset before the install in the bootleg and everything went well. I did a clean install twice but still no Cloud modded battle model. Everything else seems to be working fine except for this, could anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

There's a bug in the ulgp tool used in Bootleg.
Hopefully a fixed version of the tool will be available soon.

I have a workaround but it adds 10 minutes to the Bootleg install time.

Thanks for your reply. Is it possible to do something manually without relying on the bootleg? I noticed that even the enemy models appearing are the originals (ex: first two soldiers fought by the train).

Many of the battle models remain as the originals.
There are only a few updated battle models for the main player characters.

I keep trying to postpone implementing the workaround.
I just know as soon as I put the hours in to fix it, the new ulgp tool will appear on the scene!

I keep trying to postpone implementing the workaround.
I just know as soon as I put the hours in to fix it, the new ulgp tool will appear on the scene!
