any and all info would be greatly appreciated >.<

System Specs: Windows XP Home Edition, 2002, SP3
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz
2.99 GHz, 512 MB of RAM.

Which graphics renderer are you using and what are your other settings like?
I use the D3D renderer, everything Passes except 8-bit-palleted textures but the game runs fine.

I have no idea why the game crashes for you, so it may be some other issue altogether :-(

Direct 3D Hardware Acceleration, since thats what FF7 uses, my only other option is the Software Renderer.

EDIT:

FF7 uses the Software Renderer, so i set it to that, now Eidos gets displayed then freezes ._. at least it got "partially" fixed. >.<

You should be using D3D, but I wonder why it doesnt work for you?
Your system specs are decent enough, so maybe something is wrong with the software side of things.

Which graphics-card do you have (ATi or nvidia)?
And are you using the latest DirectX runtimes?
