Where can i download cetra from or something like it?
Also does this patch make the backgrounds look better, cuz unless i render at 640x480 1/4 screen they look horrible, they are all pixelated.
-
I doubt 32-bit will help the backgrounds (they are only 16 bit images) but it DOES help the movies.
And um... I think you can make the backgrounds look a little better if you mess with the antialiasing options (but you can't do this from FF7, you have to do it from your card's config or some other program... maybe rivatuner would do it?)

Plz someone post a working link for this patch (cetra) as ficedulas website is down and so is alhexx's. Or send it to [email protected] if you have it thx!

Ficedula's site is fine (http://www.ficedula.cjb.net) here

His site is SLOW....
are there any mirrors?
-
You could've downloaded his entire site by now if you hadn't asked here for mirrors instead

My problem is, when I start the game the credits show just fine but when I'm in the game at the beginning when the guys jump off the train. I can hear everything just fine but the screen is black.

If you're using a Radeon, you might want to download the FF7 1.02 patch and enable the NVidia fixes. (Yes, I know it's not an NVidia card...)
-
32 bit DOES help the backgrounds and the groud shading on the 3d players is much more defined, the reason it helps the backdrops is cos theyve been ported from the psx which was in 24-bit so veiwing it in 16 bit it loses abit of definition
-
Suspect the PSX was running in 16-bit mode too, y'know. It certainly good, and all things considered that's probably what they went for.
-
I think FF7 PSX runs in 24-bit for the movies and 16-bit for everything else? Maybe.
-
well see for your self
maybe theres 8bit palleted backgrounds (!) in ff7pc. and 16bit in psx
who knows
compare the two colour depths., 16v32 ull see a difference , i did

Fice's site seems to have been down for a solid week. I check everyday. I've finally come out of lurking and I'd like to try out his stuff again...(seeing as I finally fixed my box)
-
Yeah - the site's hosted off my server except the lease on my house is over, so I'm no longer living in a house with broadband ... hence no server.
I *hope* to get a mirror back up with most of the things (some downloads at least) active in the next week or two. I should've done it earlier - except the server I use as a backup is being upgraded this week with a new hard disk, so until that's done...

^^ Thanks for telling about it, it can wait...
