What part sir? I'll appreciate if you'll be more specific so I can do something about it, That's why I'm posting my work in progress here so I can gather opinions and suggestions as I work on it, I'm still a noob so I appreciated comments and suggestions..

If it's about the head that's to be expected.. since it's not finished yet,
LoL a face without eyes and mouth is really wierd.

I started doing a whole new texture for that head and I'll still need to clean up that one.. so If there are helpful comments I'd be greatful :) :) :)

Ok then, as for your question I've been wondering about that too, I read somewhere before that it's a bit more difficult to make a mod for ff8 I guess that explains the rarity in ff8 mods here.. like this gui overhaul and launcher

I think you're having problems with the texture because..
With those complex shapes and a lot of body parts that model actually uses just one tex file, and plain one.
you can try either..
1. adding more textures though it'll mean having to assign some parts to  a different tex id, (which is a hassle needs patience)
2. Redo the UV's (Also a lot of work)

Nice work btw, this diffinitely look better now..though you might want to add more details,
I might work on a different variant of ruby weapon for nightmare vii but that still far off, and it will look completely different :) :) :)

Good luck on this, lots of patience and try to familiarize with the tools we have here, it'll be useful..

I gave rayved a pm bout the cid model, seems he will texture the model himself.. so it's a no go..
I'll just wait for your cid head model then omega..

for the mean time here's my progress on retexturing  and conversion to battle model of weemus cid field model, the lower body will have to be remade and will come later..



and here it is with the head omega made, i'm still not finished texturing it..

I would also like to test this, but can't get bootleg to work right.. I just manually install all mods I'm using, maybe I'll just let the elites do the testing.. I don't think I can be of much help on that part anyway, LoL :) :)

I'll give rayved a PM about it, though I'm considering taking a break this week.. I've been working on a lot of model revisions lately.. maybe a short break to get some motivation. Also I need to check on what we discussed on the pm..



here's the revision 2 of the black diamond.. the first one kinda failed in terms of color scheme.. If this one's ok I will probably add the details.

glad you like it, now that i check on it again, with the black outfit, he looks a bit similar to the crisis core cloud here







Right now I'm trying to assemble a cid battle model by using parts frm weemus field model and other available models



as you can see it's still a mess since I'm using parts from other models so I need to fix the tex id's and redo all textures..which also remind me I need to ask for permission on those who made those parts, :-P :-P
I'm waiting for a cid head model which currntly under construction by other members, I might use it if they'll allow it..this still far from completion and I would appreciate comments and suggestion to make this one awesome..

EDIT: on second thought I think I'll try creating the lower body my self, I kinda feel bad using other models all the time, I needed to learn 3d mdeling to improve my model revisions so this might be a good time start..


btw if you have or know some unfinished models, preferably textured ones, I'd like to try working on them, :) :)

Wow....I was wondering if you would be attempting to tackle some WEAPONs. Looks good. Different.

It's suppose to be different, I did mention it'll be a new enemy, well it seems some people don't like the colors so I'll be revising it a bit..

When i get access to a computer again ill fix my cait sith weaoon models and he can texture them if hed like

I'd like a shot on those weapons, LoL seems like I got lots to do now, I just receive the aerith model mike is working on, ZL325 asked me if I'm interested in texturing it.. If the outcome is better than the current aerith rev I'll replace it..

I'm also doing model rev for new bosses in the nightmare mod like that black diamond.. Lots to do but I'm loving it LoL ;D ;D ;D

Challenge it in Nightmare VII soon
it will be included in the release for CD 2

Excuse the exaggerated intro.. LoL I just had this sudden impulse to do it.  :) :) :)
Anyway this is a revision of the Diamond weapon by Grimmy, this model will be used as a new enemy on one of the secret encounter for the nightmare VII mod but he will be included in the CD2 release. well too much for the spoiler, honestly I just wanted to show off a bit..

I guess the reason why you don't get this noob friendly tutorial, is because ripping models is really not noob friendly, LoL I myself am not confident in my skills to do a successful rip.. I suggest going over the available tutorials, try learning the softwares mentioned first before going to the actual ripping process..

Sorry if I can't provide more info into this, I'm not much of a modeler.. well just wait and hope for some generous people here that might give you a detailed process, but my best bet is going over again the tutorials you just mentioned.

yeah I've been waiting for a long time now.. there are the colosseum games that are in 3d but it would be good to have something close to the classic but in 3d and MMO
