7th Heaven / Re: New Threat + The Reunion?
« on: 2017-04-14 02:25:12 »
Basically, since they alter the same files, the only way Reunion would ever be fully compatible with NT is somebody manually altering NT to have Reunion's text and changes (which would have to be okayed by both DLPB and Sega Chief). With DLPB's mod loader thing you could have them both on your PC at the same time but not usable together.

Game wise, FF4 PSP is superior imo, but the DS translation is easily the best one.
I actually think 5 is the best, as it has an excellent job system, and it's a shame the planned 3D DS remakes for it and 6 never happened.

Troubleshooting / Re: Screen missing top border?
« on: 2017-02-04 23:42:02 »
Reunion is separate from 7thHeaven. The one found there is an old, outdated version. The borders are fixed in the newest release of Reunion (though I'd wait a couple days for R06 to release, if it isn't out in a week then I'd download the current version), which isn't compatible at all with 7thHeaven.
If you like the customizability of 7thHeaven just hope a newer version with border fixes is released for it.

You know, I think earlier in this thread I stated my distaste for remixes (or agreed with DLPB on that).
However, there is one really good remix, and that is the Smash 4 Version of Victory Fanfare. It manages to capture every aspect of the original and truly update it without having to add stupid shit like trap or dubstep.

Really the most difficult part with looping is figuring out where the loop point should be, and adjusting it depending on how the loop sounds.
Sample accuracy can be really nice, but as long as the loop doesn't have a noticeable skip, it should be fine for you.
Really, the first couple times can be rather difficult, but as time goes on it gets easier.

7
So:
1. Get Audacity (or literally anything that can open music and save it as something else)
2. Set loop (look up a guide for this, I don't remember how to do it off the top of my head)
3. Save as OGG
4. Rename the OGG file to whatever track you want it to replace (check the tracks if you're not sure)

8
I kinda disagree with you in terms of graphics, but yeah, the remixes for FFVII Music tend to be not nearly as good as the original.
I do think "Those Who Fight Further" by the Black Mages, with some touch ups to be closer to the original in terms of emphasis on instruments, could be a legitimately good replacement for the boss theme (which I adore) but aside from that I'd never use them in-game.

honestly wouldn't surprise me if it was less legit child pornography and more loli hentai
either way it's screwed up though

Gameplay / Re: Looking for FF8 Steam HD true 60fps mod??
« on: 2016-12-14 20:59:50 »
The project was started in 2010
And I believe it's been cancelled.
It never got to 1.0, and that's for Final Fantasy VII, which even here has a much larger modding community and base.
For instance, there have been multiple mod loaders and installers for FFVII, and pretty much nothing for FFVIII.
Check out Tonberry if you have the Steam version though. It doesn't affect framerate positively, but it looks real nice.

Now, in Final Fantasy, I don't think that there's a game that does magic extremely REALLY well. Eventually, in general, there's no point in using magic when damage is so easy with standard attacks.
I think the MegaTen series does a good job of using magic though. The combat system really rewards the use of magic and weaknesses, especially in Persona 4, where even later in game, the only time magic gets "useless" is when it is blocked or weakened by individual strengths.

7th Heaven / Re: Menu Overhaul Help!
« on: 2016-12-01 19:29:37 »
Oh yeah, I remember making a thing about that.
The only way to really fix that right now is to use your normal copy of FFVII (As in, without 7thHeaven there at all) to get a normal MO .exe using R03e, place it somewhere else, uninstall, reinstall FFVII and 7thHeaven, and replace the _mo.exe with your own.
It's convoluted, and hopefully it'll be replaced soon, but until that happens it's the only way to fix it.

7th Heaven / Re: Menu Overhaul Help!
« on: 2016-11-30 22:33:40 »
You had this thread before, and really, if you properly uninstalled Bootleg (uninstalling FFVII, deleting the bootleg folders, and cleaning registry keys), there shouldn't be a problem.
I know that the Menu Overhaul used in 7thHeaven is R03e, and considering that the MO used in the video is MO03, I'm guessing that it's mainly just R03c using MO04d.
If having that MO is that important to you, then you could uninstall 7thHeaven and use Bootlegger, but it's really outdated, and you won't be able to get support for anything...
Really the best case scenario for MO in 7thHeaven is for the old version of Reunion with the radically different MO to be an option, and for the newest Reunion (currently R05c) to be an alternative, with the different options for it, but that's really best case scenario.

It usually doesn't appear unless the camera itself is facing the enemy (i.e. using magic), but I do like using the Target function, and it feels weird when there are multiple for a single character.

17
I don't know if it'll be actual 60 FPS (as in not just duplicated frames) but as long as it fixes the "Target" symbol not accurately keeping with the actual target I'm fine.
tho honestly 60 FPS on the PC version in general is fine  ;)

It's working.
If you were to put the hashmap for Project Eden in the disabled folder, you'd notice that the backgrounds become insanely pixellated, so unless someone makes new renders for every background (which is extremely unlikely), we just have to upscale the backgrounds, which make them look like that.

Yeah, if her value is 50 or above then that scene has different dialogue and a more humorous aftermath in the Highwind. The chance to raise her affection is most likely there as a last-minute chance to get that version if you didn't raise it that high to get her date scene.

Releases / Re: [FF7PC-98/Steam] New Threat Mod (v1.4)
« on: 2016-10-04 20:24:57 »
I'm guessing somebody reported this for the lack of v1.5 (or something else new for this), so it warranted a post here.
Unless you'd get notified for that, in which case I've got no clue.

21
Probably because this thread is essentially dead.
7thHeaven is the main form of modding FFVII currently (especially with it finally becoming open-source), and anything that works independently of it has its own thread.
Unless there's no "big mod loader" for the game (so pretty much any other game on here), dead links are usually because of dead mods.

7th Heaven / Re: Menu Overhaul: physical attack issue
« on: 2016-09-28 01:11:07 »
No, sorry, but if you have a copy of the 98 version you can use Tom's installer and apply the 1.02 patch, and then install the old Reunion, with Menu Overhaul, and then rename it to ff7_mo.exe.
I wish I could do more to help, but I've pretty much abandoned 7thHeaven until it gets cleaned up and I have a computer that can actually use postprocessing, so I didn't think of keeping a copy of that exe.
I might be able to get the executable for you, but it'll definitely take a bit.

« on: 2016-09-27 19:47:27 »
I don't know if it's specifically NT, but I know for a fact that something was wrong with the MO exe, since I had that exact same problem when I first started using 7H.

7th Heaven / Re: Menu Overhaul: physical attack issue
« on: 2016-09-26 23:26:45 »
Yeah, this is an issue with the Menu Overhaul exe.
Essentially, it's actually the MO exe with the NT patch, so any changes made to the exe by NT are in the MO, and it can only be fixed by making an installation of the Reunion with MO, copying that exe, and then removing Reunion and manually putting in that copied MO exe, at least until the game patcher is fixed to include the correct exe.

25
Huh. I guess it's a regional thing in America too, considering that I always say "check on" to refer both to checking the status and fixing or changing if need be, and so does everyone else I know.
But, either way, the R05 one is pretty good. I'm looking forward to it so I can use it one the PSX version (and hopefully the PC version once I have something other than this craptop)
