Completely Unrelated / Question???
« on: 2009-09-27 13:51:16 »
Why are there like ten people online but no one posting at all? Are you all fans waiting for some new awesome model or mod to add to your collection or something. This forum seems half dead to me sometimes, if it wouldn't be for timusimusu, apz cloud, pyrozen, me, the one who is behind the 2D overhaul sl-something and all the other creators I think this forum would be stone dead.

And that is like 5 creators, what are you 10 members and 30 guests that are online doing now?  :-o Just curious, cuz I left the computer like 4 hours ago and went back to see what is happening. And I see 10 members online but no new posts...no fun... :|

For all the modelers on this forum, blender 2.5 is ready to be used. Still there is a lot of things you can't do. But you can model/texture your models. And that is good enough... :-D

Here you can download the beta:

The most complete art in my opinion. What are your favourite animated movies and why?

-Story
-Animation
-Music

My favourites have to be either The Prince of Egypt or Bambi. Prince of Egypt because of the great songs and story. Bambi because of the story and the theme, also because it was one of my favourites as a kid. :-P

Hello I'm looking for someone who could make a blueprint for a game character. I have setup a good 3rd person template in the blender game engine. With camera collisions and jumping/running. Everything you need to make a platformer. Like Croc, Spyro Crash Bandicoot etc. But I haven't got a character yet, and I'm not terrible at drawing myself. But I haven't got a scanner!

So I wonder if someone here can draw this character and help me out. I found this image of a cool jester character. It's a old game from -96, if someone could draw a front and side view of a character that looks similar to the clown in the image that would be cool. Then I would model and (Maybe) texture it, this is a good oppurtunity for all the character designers out there. That are dreaming about how their ultimate Final Fantasy character would look like.

You can pm me or reply if you are interested.

Below, front and side view.

EDIT: Yeah and if you want to get a feeling for the character I have in mind. Listen to this track:

Hello, this forum is 90% about Final Fantasy VII, 10% about FInal Fantasy VIII and 0% about in my opinion the best game of them all, Final Fantasy IX. I like Final Fantasy VI better, but what is the point in modding that. Just wondering why there are no programs for IX, and why no one is interested in making anything for it.

« on: 2009-08-07 17:16:45 »
I made a Alleway jack model and thought that I maybe could get it into Final Fantasy VII as a secret character somehow. This is the battle model for him. The field model would have to be edited in kimera. He is lacking textures, but that will be fixed. Some info for you who haven't played IX.
Quote
In FF9, Alleyway Jack is a four-armed treasure hunter and card player extraordinaire, also known as Alleyway Jack. Events in the game later reveal him to be Gilgamesh, and he's searching for the Excalibur
What skeleton should this guy use? He has four arms!

Introduction

This is a game idea I have come up with. Something like a adventure platformer game featuring a lynx (thanks drfeelgud88), the game will be made in Blender 3D. And so far it's only me working on it, I post this here to get feedback and ideas. It's always good to see things from another angle. Below you can read some of the magic lynx. (Taken from Wikipedia).

Information - Magic Lynx

The Lynx is an elusive, ghost-like animal that sees without being seen. Often called "the keeper of secrets of the forest", its magical appearance stems from the mystery that such a creature's secrecy can also be its strength. The Lynx teaches us that even the smallest can succeed in life, and that the world can unfold itself to those who stop and listen.

The lynx is not a guardian of secrets so much as the one who knows them, especially when it comes to those secrets that are either obscured by time and space or are completely lost to the world. The lynx is therefore associated with divination and clairvoyance. Those who seek the lynx may find difficulty in getting it to cooperate. Just because the lynx knows secrets does not mean it wishes to share them. Only by respecting the lynx's behavior and listening carefully may one begin to receive an answer.

This power and ability to remain unseen attracted ancient warriors to adopt the lynx and, thus, they believed, its nature. Cunning, solitary hunters, lynx have large eyes and a keen sense of hearing which enables them to hunt at night.

Those who have been touched by the lynx's presence may be given a boon and bane. A lynx may guide the listener to a secret, whether it be a lost object or a hidden truth that is somehow relevant at the present time. On the other hand, the lynx may be an omen to warn those who have somehow betrayed the confidentiality of oneself or others.

The lynx was chosen as the emblem of the Accademia dei Lincei ("Academy of the Lynxes"), one of the world's oldest scientific societies. Its piercing vision was invoked symbolically as characteristic of those dedicated to science.

Gameplay

A classic Ps1 styled platformer game in third person. The gameplay is quite simple, you run around on levels that goes from point A to B and collects pickups. Not sure what kind of objects yet. While you are trying to avoid enemies, if they see you, you have to fight them. The graphic design should be in between realistic and cartoon style. See the Lo model below. Basically a game like Yo Frankie, but more realistic.

Scripting and Reverse Engineering / Missing rwda?
« on: 2009-06-27 14:40:53 »
Hello it seems like every time I extract a model from the battle.lgp I got all the red XIII files except the rwda file. I don't know why this is. I start with lgp tools. Save the files to a folder. Then I open it up the rwaa in kimera, then I save it to another folder. Then I open it up in biturn, but in the preview the model is all messed up and that is because I'm missing the rwda file. It's not in there when i save the model from Kimera.
Am I missing something? :? It is among the extracted lgp files, but it dissapears when I save from kimera...so I'm not sure what is the problem   lol I'm such a noob at modding..

EDIT: If there is no solution to this problem, could someone upload the red XIII battle model? with textures?

Red XIII WIP

This work is largely inspired by Timu Simusus Barret model. To continue his style and idea. This is still work in progress, so it's not done. There is still a lot more I have to do on the hair, and his fire tail. Right now I'm having a problem with his hair. If someone could help me out in any way I would appreciate it.

I know this model isn't perfect, so please comment on what needs to be improved!

Red XII information

Red XIII, whose real name is Nanaki, is large, powerful, leonine and coated with fire red fur. His species possesses great longevity, which surprises the party when they learn that his 48 years only amounts to adolescence by his species' standards. Though his real name is Nanaki, he is given the name Red XIII by Hojo, and continues to be called this when the party rescues him from Hojo's laboratory.

Red XIII joins Cloud's group while they are rescuing Aerith Gainsborough from the Shinra building, where Hojo is attempting to breed Aerith with Nanaki in order to preserve what he believes to be two endangered species of animal. Red XIII believes that his father, Seto, had been a coward who abandoned Cosmo Canyon during a war with the now-extinct Gi Tribe, leaving the tribes to fight on their own. As such, he was deeply ashamed of being Seto's son.

When the group later visits Cosmo Canyon, they meet the village elder, Bugenhagen, whom Red XIII refers to as his "grandfather." Here, Red XIII learns the truth about his father, who sacrificed himself to save the village. Finally knowing the truth of his proud heritage, Red XIII, with some encouragement from Bugenhagen, gains the courage to rejoin Cloud's party for the rest of their journey, during which he proves himself to be a valuable asset and friend. He is shown to be alive 500 years after the series along with his two children looking down at the overgrown ruins of Midgar.

Archive / World map?
« on: 2009-06-18 04:36:51 »
Hey, I just wonder if this is possible. Almost everything else has or is being done at the moment. Editing the field backgrounds, getting better music, hi res models. If you can edit the battle models and the field models editing the world map should be possible too right? The world map could look much much better. To be honest, it looks like crap!

If someone could get it out of the game somehow, we could make some changes. For example, give the mountains much better shape. Editing all the towns to look better. Fixing grass textures, mountain textures etc...fixing the sky box texture. This wouldn't take a long time to change...we could at least make it look as good as in Final Fantasy VIII.

The question is how easy is it to get it out and then re insert it.

16
Yeah what mod program/extractor would you use. I managed to export the model and import it into blender. But no animations and no bones came with it. So this is the question, could someone give me or show me a tutorial on how to take a character from FF7 and get all the bones mesh textures into blender. Thanks a lot... :-D Bet this question has been asked a few times...hehe

Hey this is a FF model I have made
I know it's not perfect, but it's the best I can do at the moment following only one front view reference. Anyway I wonder if someone could help me animate him. I have already rigged him so it's only the animation work left. But I'm a bad animator, have never done it before and when I did it it wasn't good...so I wonder if someone could make these animations for him.

*Stand animation
*Walk animation
*Attack animation

If someone wants to do this, add me to msn. [email protected]

Thanks a lot, and keep FF playing!!

« on: 2009-01-04 06:33:33 »
Ok I have just got Final Fantasy VII to work on my vista computer! Now I got a couple of questions:

1. How do I extract and convert character models from the game to a common format. OBJ etc...
2. What are the coolest mods, that turns Final Fantasy VII into a new experience. Some huge stuff like:
*All models looks better, even NPC.
*New dialouge.
*Better graphics and resolution.
*Play as sephiroth or something...:p

I have seen the sticky thread, but alot of it seems to be incomplete or in beta stage. So some awesome mods, that are complete!! :D
Everything is a little confusing :p What mods work together with each other? And what mods are complete, thanks alot.

Is it possible to convert the FFVII models to any of these formats?

Archive / Mod Program!?
« on: 2008-12-29 21:54:57 »
Hello I'm new, and I wonder if it would not be able to make a mod program for Final Fantasy 7. It would work like this, you install Final Fantasy 7. Then you open the FF7 mod program. You enter the path of the installation folder. And then it opens up the game, the program would be divided into.
*Levels
*Models
*Textures
*Scripts
*Rigs (Armatures)
Then you can import and replace models and use the script editor to edit the dialouge and the stats and all text and info! And you would use another program to model...a very complicated program. But such a program would be awesome. Making FF7 open source!! Then anyone could make their own FF game lol...
