well, really your going to want to use Aali's texture injection to get the best results from doing this.  Simply replacing the originals with new ones of the same size isn't going to get you anywhere.  You need to hex edit the texture your putting back into the LGP so that it calls upon your new texture PNG located in your /textures directory.  Easy aint it ;)

Wrong. Replacing the tex works. I inserted a 2048x2048 texture using this method. And i did try aali's texture injection and it didnt work

it doesnt ask to overwrite. and you should never work on the files in the folder directly. Use a work folder and then copy whatever you need into the battle folder

EDIT: hmm still cant get it to work i open my image which i named opac with img2txt made sure color 0 as trasparent box is checked hit convert saved as opac still doesn't seem like it did anything then put it do my battle folder and compiled it bak and it had the original texture not mine. Maybe a video of how you did would really help if not a problem   :-)

when you get a blank white texture, you might be running out of texture memory.

did you mess up the texture id?  if the texture isnt being fetched in the first place, then you'll get it all white

i didn't mess with the texture id i just thing when i use img2txt it does convert to txt properly so when i move it bak in the battle and compress it and play i dont think it can read it cause its not converted to the proper txt form

Is this a new MOD by the way?... It seems to be a brighter version?

Not really. At least for the moment. It is just a proof of concept.

I made that texture, and filters dont make things look nice. I used a texture filter to add the brick shapes, and then did a lot of brush work to add crap everywhere

Hmm well got some good news bad news kinda  :-P

I got a texture finally in the battle field but not by the way you tried to teach me. Just couldn't get it that way i used basically the same thing you told me except i used highwinds app to help me out. Now for the bad news, It only lets me put in 8 bit textures nothing higher   :-( But it still looks good hope not too over the top though. Still wish i could put 24 bit in like you can.

Sorry for the double post but here is my texture put into the game but i had to reduce it all the way to 8 bit just to be able to put it in. Nothing bigger would go in just had an error but any way her it is

maybe the conversion to 8 bit messed it up, But it looks like it went through a major sharpen filter. it looks radioactive

See that is what I'm not understanding y i can only use a 8 bit instead of a 24 bit like sl1982. I dont know maybe its my program i am using that when i save, it some how messes with something so i cant put in a 24 instead off lowering it to a 8

image2tex by borde will let you use 24 bit textures, look in the programming feedback section

This. I told you to use this before. But make sure you are using aali's driver or no 24bit textures will be shown
