Hello.
I use ozmy field texture pack and have some textures message bug, i can't find any way to disable these errors message like i did in 0.7 version of the driver years ago.
Is there any hidden option to disable all texture message bug or any tool to list all buggy textures and delete them ?

Thanks

How do I know that aali's driver is working properly ??

These is the steps i've done..

* Downloaded the aali's driver .zip file
* extracted the .zip file and copy&paste its content  to the installation folder of ff7 (e.g. c:\program files (x86)\Finatal Fantasy VII\))
* Run the .reg file (ff7_opengl.reg)
* Edited the ff7_opengl.cfg file and change the mod path to textures
* downloaded an avatar mod and put it to mods\textures\menu
* started the game & nothing changed..

What am I doing wrong?? pls! anyone can help??

the 'texture' folder is obsolete.
you need to make au mod folder (for exemple \mods\yourmodfolder\menu\) and put your menu png files in it, take care not to have double folder , \mods\yourmodfolder\menu\ is ok but \mods\yourmodfolder\menu\menu\ is ko
then you need to edit ff7_opengl.cfg and set 'mod_path = yourmodfolder'
that's all, it's not good post your question in the mod's post

Aali I have looked into the field script (with Makoureactor) and it seems that the informations of the pallets for the lightlayers are handled there. Is it possible to override the 16bit pallets with 32bit pallets for the commands.

To  be more precisly it would be clever to  ad the upscale factor (2x, 4x, etc) to  the new lightlayers and multiply this to  the commands.

Please help, I can't get FMV's to play, they were working the first time i used this driver but broke after installing anxious heart, I fail to see how that would break it. I also moved the vids to hdd and changed the registry to point there and the videos still won't play, all I get is ERROR: can not open movie file.

OK, It's decided to work now!?

I've figured it out, changing the movie directory breaks it even if I change it back, the only way is to reinstall and leave the movie directory alone in regedit.

Try this. A simple program that tells the game where the movies are. And it's really easy to use new updated movies with this.

Hi guys,

I've been lurking around the forum for the past 5 hours and try to make just one mod to work. Then I figure maybe I need this first to start doing anything. However, I still couldn't get it to work. Mine is steam version. I converted to the old version but whenever I clicked that app (the old icon), it asks for the discs so I don't touch it again. I still could get the steam version to work (using steam app launcher). Anyway, here's what I did:

1. I downloaded the newest version of Aali's driver
2. I uncompressed it to the game folder (replaced the old folders)
3. Ran the ff7config.exe and ran the sound tab (test and such)
4. Ran the reg file
5. Opened the clg file and changed the mod path to "mod_path = mod" (since my folder is [game_dir]/mods/mod/battle or world etc)
6. Copied the mod (specifically the image files from the amazing EQ2Alyza at http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=14469.0) and pasted on the correct folders.
7. Started the game from app launcher. Nothing happened.

Here's my open gl config file http://pastebin.com/W43Qvswb

I'm so tired at this point but I feel like I'm close to actually enjoying the game again...So I need to at least make this work to start looking at other mods again.

Thank you for all the hard work guys! Hopefully this is not another stupid question...

What did you use to convert the Steam version? It has to be converted to work.

The disc problem is because you don't have a HDD, Flash Drive, or Virtual Drive labeled FF7DISC1. You can rename any drive to FF7DISC1, or you can mount this blank ISO to a Virtual Drive using Daemon Tools Lite. You must have a drive labeled FF7DISC1 before you use a game converter, and keep it labeled that afterwards when launching the game.

Which version of my textures are you using? To get them working in [game_dir]\mods\mod\battle|world, you need to have the PNG versions. The LGP versions are for manually importing them into battle.lgp and world_us.lgp, and the IRO version is for use with 7th Heaven.

I finally decided to follow step by step instructions of this mod http://forums.qhimm.com/?topic=13212.0
But then it crashed after the new game screen

This has changed from Aali questions to Bootleg questions, so we should move there. This problem has been posted before: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=13212.msg230886#msg230886

The files with .a extensions are animation files, and your char.lgp is missing them. Bootleg somehow didn't install them correctly, so you should check the logs to try and find what happened.

It doesn't work with the steam version. The new directx9 renderer should be enough (together with GeDoSaTo - http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=15988.0)

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but is the 7.11b version still supported? I can't get a working link for that version and I think it might work better for me with Darkbyte's speed hack as the 8.1b version has been giving me strange technical issues with the speed hack.

Edit: I'm a moron, apparently blind, and my google fu is good enough to kick myself in the face. I apologize, I swear I combed over this thread 3 times before  finding it, what else can I say.

Is there any way to get this working the the JP international version?

I recently purchased the download version and can't seem to get this to work by itself. I can use bootloader that comes with bootleg, and it will run an English version (JP versions comes with a number of different languages), so I'm guessing it's not a technical limitation. However, I'd really like to get this running with the JP version.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just about all the mods on this site are for the English version only. You could try renaming all the files for your language to the English file names, but I doubt that's going to actually work.

I recall someone working on a program that did just that.

Thanks for the reply. I figured that was the case.
I tried changing the names, but that didn't work unfortunately.

I'm guessing I just need to find a way, to bypass Square Enix's launcher and launch the exe directly.

I'll poke around on the Japanese boards and if I find a solution I'll post it somewhere on these boards.

Hello.
As aali doesn't seem to update the driver anymore, i've done a fast modification to the 0.8.1.b version of the driver.
The driver works great but have a percistant message about palette glitch even on field without visible bugs.
I found a way to avoid most of the message with hexediting the driver (can't found how to delete the ":")
I think it's a good way to play with fields like omzy's or so with lights filtered

here's a sample:

download here : http://zktr.free.fr/ff/FF7.SYW.OpenGl.Patch.R1.7z (there's only the modded file, you still need the aali full package)

i've not deleted the "red" message but only the "yellow" because red are often realy important ones
