What I did was... Download them, move them to my FF7 folder, replaced my exe and config with titeguy3's and then created the exe as a shortcut and that's it! Also, if you used Dzuigo's patches, you will have to re-install them again seeing as how titeguy3 doesn't have those implemented on there.

Harruzame, you can just download them as an icon and use a program called Icon Changer (google etc.) to embed it into the exe if you don't want to repatch your exe.

Alternatively, you can just download the icon rather than the exe and place them in your ff7 directory and then on the desktop shortcuts > right click > properties > change icon > browse ff7directory > select the icon > ??? > Profit

I prefer the first method just so it's not just the shortcut.
I also use ff7music so I have to select my exe for the shortcut icon.

Is it just me or none of the icons look better than the original one on most of the sizes like the super-common 32x32?

The original isn't even 32x32. it's 16x16

Yeah, that was pretty sad the original one was that small. Guess a reconstruction try is in demand too. :D

the FF7.EXE from 1.02 uses a 32x32 8bit colour icon (well acording to Res tuner) or if you use 7zip and open the EXE and extract the icon windows will show it as 32x32
