If you have no instructions error or not loading DLLs, you did not follow the instructions. Especially the part where it tells you to edit settings.ini to match. There's a WorkingFolder= line that currently breaks DLL loading. Delete the text after the = or remove the line entirely to make your ini match like the OP.

Works fine here following all instructions and without Hard.dll (Currently using FF8 Requiem instead). Obviously, if you were already at 9999 before you loaded the mod, you would stay at that at least until a level up or stat change since it appears to just adjust the variable and cap to allow larger values and doesn't call any kind of recalculation at save load.

Releases / Re: [FF7PC-98/Steam] New Threat Mod (v1.4)

That being said, NT isn't perfect and I hate to drive people away. I'll have another look at the Nattak fight.

After reading through your reply (thanks for taking the time btw), I decided to go back and take a look at the fight a bit more objectively.. after trying for 3 days at the point I wrote that..I was not too amiable. Looking at videos online of the fight and tips..suggestions etc. No one else seemed to be getting the heal spam I was getting (I even tried copying every move from the video line by line before I wrote that). After all this...I did a fresh install using your patcher and steam version.. fights are much slower now..not getting spammed... just made it back to that boss again and it was no problem... I'm wondering if 7H borked my exe or something because everything was getting twice as many turns as videos showed.

Anyway thanks for getting me to retry it again inadvertently or not and thank you (and the folks on your contributor list) for the mod. Not sure if it came across in my last post but I dd quite enjoy the mod except for the boss fights.. so I'm glad it's working now =D

Gotta say I was enjoying this mod..right up until I started doing boss battles. It's generally just a spam fest from them while trying to keep up...them getting 2-6 moves before you get one. Gi was the worst.. spamming Demi3 and complete healing every 2 rounds. Finally pushed me to uninstall FF7 altogether.

I can see what you're going for but not my style of mod for sure. I prefer Brave New World style..more strategy less twitch. Still..thanks for the new experience.

Here's a list of everything I had trouble with in 7th Heaven on Steam 2013 version and what I did to fix each. Just for people that may run into similar issues.

1. Multiple errors during FF7_GameConverter_7H.exe -
Moved game to shorter directory depth (ie from F:\files\games\storage\etc\etc\Final Fantasy VII to F:\Games\FF7) also needs to be run as admin

2. Registration error during 7th Heaven first time launch on registering subscriptions -
Deleted data in %APPDATA%\7thWorkshop\ folder then granted Admin privileges to 7thheaven.exe (right-click run as admin) eventually just Right-click->properties->compatibility->Run as admin perma change as there are other times it needs it.

3. Subscriptions not downloading -
Copy-paste on the main page's url listed for subscriptions doesn't work right in some browsers and is wrapped to another line.. the full thing is:
iros://Url/http$pastebin.com/raw.php?i=dDBkYkDu
also be sure to change the double music line to music and direct like directions. Almost skipped this because it had two entries.

4. Graphics run off screen or are cut off no matter what resolution is chosen -
Find your ff7.exe and right-click->properties->compatibility->Disable display scaling on High DPI. For some reason, the client takes your resolution (regardless of settings) and multiplies it by your scaling in some weird fashion screwing up all the graphics.

5. Downloads never finish or error out
This was the second most annoying issue aside from DPI. Easiest thing I found to fix it is to simple start a download and if the kb/s or bar doesn't change after a few seconds then right-click->Cancel on it (in the download window). This will cause it to immediately cycle and try again. I had to do this at least once per file after a few files. Never download more than one thing as it can cause an out of memory error when the thing fails a download and repeat-cycles due to it adding the error in the status box in the main window constantly without clearing out old messages..eventually crashing at max limit. There's also a manual download option if you get stuck.. you open up http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=dDBkYkDu and find the google drive url id to the file you want and plug it into the end of this url https://drive.google.com/file/d/ then download the file to 7th Heaven and replace the broken download that's already in there (in FF7 Folder it'll be prefixed with a GUID).

6. Crash right after cloud jumps off the train..no text windows
The menu overhaul in The Reunion - Beacause mod does not work at all..even when I did get it working..words were cut off and everything was screwy

7. Crash after New Game and before anything comes up
New Threat from Difficulty Mod does not play well with neither Cheats/Tweaks mod nor The Reunion mod. About the most you can get is the limit remover and run always on.

8. Crash before the game loads
Originally went back and forth on this and figured out that the Chibi movie reworks do not play well on my system. Switched the movie reworks to anything else then it worked fine. Also had a crash with voice overs from sound effects mod.

9. Heads and arms detached
New animations without new models = funky side effects. Don't do one without the other.

10. Crash at flashback well scene with Tifa and Cloud
I eventually had to remove all script mods and not use OpenGL update in order to passed this part. No idea why.

I'll add more if I run into any..though I'm about done with the game now so I don't think I will.
