Have fun!!
Instructions: To make work the textures, you should make:
    - Decompile your battle.LGP.
    - Paste on the created folder the files you just download.
    - Open Pcreator, load the .3ds file in the rar and select in 'Options'>Battle Model.
    - Then go to 'File' and select 'Open battle HRC'...
    - Open RTAA for Cloud
    - Open RUAA for Tifa
    - Open RVAA for Aeris
                 ...
      and set the numer of textures to 10. Then close Pcreator.
    - Compile again the battle.LGP with LGPTools.
    - put in FFVII/data/battle floder.
    - Play with the new Swords!.

Sorry shoulda commented on your work at the same time,  :lol: I like the Yuffie alteration, the Tifa one  :| and the Cloud one is novel if nothing else the droopy hair is quite funny as my friends and I have always joked about his hair losing it's rigidity maybe at Costa del Sol and definitely around the time he ends up in a wheelchair

You can try adding new eye textures after, experiment a few. You might fine some better ones, then again u could always try drawing anime eyes, it's pretty easy, you can do so within seconds in any drawing program, paint yeah thats great,easy and simple, but i recomend photoshop , because we want our graphics to look smooth in game haha :P

What you're asking is very simple, first you choose the colour you want from the colour pallet or create your own from red, green, and blue. then, you choose the paint option and click the area you want to recolour with your chosen colour.

you have to convert the file using biturn. It will change it from rtac to rtac.bmp or.jpg or whatever format you choose.

HI!! how are?
well I finally can change the texture piles of cloud and Yuffie, (eyes),all correct in Kimera ( the models were load with the new eyes), but in the game, the models don't load the new eyes, why??

I convert the Cloud eyes (RTAC) in bmp with biturn, modify with paint, save as a 256 color bmp, and then i load the bmp and convert it into a .TEX file againcalled RTAC.TEX, then i erase the extension and the file only named "RTAC", but in game there are a load error or something like that.How can i do that correctly?? Thanks

Hmm. First thing I can think of is possibly you haven't ticked the RIVA TNT thing in the config screen, other than that I've noticed custom textures have to be a certain size, so 32x128, 64x256, 128x512, etc,etc... so redo the texture and resize it to 32x128 and se if that fixes it.

Ok well I have the RIVA 128 ticked, another thing is if you have modified the pieces at all through Pcreator, not saying you have but just a thought. You will need to set a texture number for the piece, if all else fails sendem over and I'll take a look for you.

I have found your problem. It seems Biturn is no good for converting the bitmaps into texture files I used Pcreator to convert the bitmaps and it worked first time. In case you don't know how boot up Pcreator and load any .3ds file you have it doesn't matter. Then select the piece via the drop down menu like this (http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s280/squeeblish/helpslayer1.jpg) next open the bitmap you want to convert through here (http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s280/squeeblish/helpslayer2.jpg) then make sure you have Texture File(s) like this (http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s280/squeeblish/helpslayer3.jpg) then save, and the .TEX file will be in the same folder as the original bitmap. Then just swap the file in and it should work :-).

Well it appears you have edited the black somehow, my suggestion run the bitmap through photoshop or paint and bucket fill the black and make sure it's index 0. Wich should be done by when you go define custom colors, just make sure everything is 0 and that should work. I can do it all for you but i figured it's better me helping you so you know how to do it next time something like this happens.

The textures must be paletted. It doesn't matter what color it is, it depends on which color pallette slot it's being held in.

Do you mean like 8-bit 16-bit coz ive tried with other textures and only 8-bit textures show up ingame and if the color is set to index 0 it becomes transparent ill even upload the textures i did if you want to have a look at what works.

Seems to to me that you have the famous 8th bytes (the transparency byte) problem.  Use any hexadecimal editor and open your .tex files then change the value of the 8th(starting from 0 not 1) byte from 00 into 01.  Do not change any other values or it might mess your tex up.

By the way,  Tifa's texture is misplaced we can see Cloud's belt's texture in the eyes.

Stormmedia was right about the hexeditor and transparency, but before,squeeble was right about convert the bmp into tex, modify correctly and convert the bmp into tex again. XD
Anyway, thanks to both!

One ask (again): How can I convert a KH-KH2 model into a viewable formay trough 3dsmax, for example?, I managed to load Cloud model from KH2 (MDLX) with ModelViewerWX trough 3dripped, and appears a text saying:"Ready to campure". What should I do now? Thnx!

The 3DRipperDX can also rip directly in .OBJ format, but i find the .3DR is more accurate. (with the .3DR plugin in 3DSMax9. )

Hi again! How are you?
Well, i'm making a Cloud KHII replacement, but the KHII Cloud model has a three parts head (Face-Hair-eyes) I can texture the face (with the process that I learn to change the eyes and help of squeeble, halkun, stormmedia, etc...) but when I try to texture the hair, I can't and still white.... what I'm doing wrong? Or what i don't do before? What must I do to texture a Cloud's bone two times Like head (rtao) to have two tex files (Face and Hair)?

Yeah, I know that the color are horrible, but it's a 256 color bitmap (Convert with paint)

Well theres a few ways you can do it, the easiest but uses more texture slots would be in Pcreator. So you load each piece individually so you would open the head, then from the drop down menu go add group and add the eyes, then add his hair. After you have all the pieces in you can add each of the bitmaps to each piece, so you would have the head selected then add the head texture to that and you will more than likely need to flip the uv's. From there just add the rest of the textures then, after you've done that you need to set the texture ID of each piece. So rtac is texture ID 0 so rtad would be texture ID 1. So go through each peice one by one and set the texture ID's e.g tex ID 1 for the head 2 for the eyes and 3 for the hair. Then you just save and open in kimera. If your doing it that way I would reccomend saving both battle anf field files so you dont have to do it again.

Now the other way to do it witch is the way I did all mine so it saves room for other textures such as weapons. You get all of clouds necessary textures and stick them all together making one big texture file. If you do this try and keep it as square as possible to make moving the UV's around easier e.g a 512x512 file or 1024x1024 if you need extra space. Now after you do this you will need to shift the uvs so they fit th textures and you get the results you want. So open up max and open your file with cloud in it and select clouds head,make sure you apply the new texture to the pieces you want. Don't worry about how screwed up it looks at the moment that will be fixed soon. Now make sure you don't have anything selected such as a polygon or a line modifier active or it wont go to the unwrap properly. Now go to the modifier dropdown and go to the bottom of the list and select unwrap UVW, then press the + next to the name and select by face. Next click on the edit button and you should see the heads UV's near the top right there should be another dropdown list, click on it and select your texture. You should now see how everything works, so select all of clouds head in the edit window and start scaling and moving the files to fit the textures, (also don't worry about the low res as it will be full res when you render or when your playing in game). Now do this for the other pieces if your doing just the head it shouldn't take more than 10-15 mins. Then convert them back to poly by right clicking and it should be on the bottom right of the right click menu, then attach the eyes head and hair together and export them. Now you only have to fill up one texture spot. I highly reccomend doing this because when andrew marsh releases his weapons they will take up all other texture spots so this would conflict greatly with whatever your doing.

Um? well I'm assuming that happens when you convert it into an 8-bit bitmap so it scrambles all the colours up. Could depend on what program you use to convert your textures into 8-bit, I tend to use Irfranview just because it's so quick and easy, have a play around with diferent programs and see what comes up. Also try adding some precalculated lihting to the model it will probably cover up a fair bit, especially around the neck considering it would normally be darker around there.

Finally!. The error was in PCREATOR, taht I textured the files, but not all in the same "EDIT->TEXTURE ID Numer".
Well The step that I followed:
1. In 3dsmax 9, I load cloud model.3dr (KH1)

2. Then I select the face, click on modifiers -> unwrap UVW and in the list of right, i select face and click on Edit...

3. Then I resize de Uv of the face to the same sice of the face in the bitmap... Then I save the UVW file. Then the same eith "hair1" and "hair2". Then I export (export selected) the face, Hair1 and Hair2 to 3DS preservating max texture coordinates.

4. Close 3dsmax and I open Pcreator. Load Cloud face, and in load hair1 and hair2 through drop down menu (add group...). I Tick in options "texture files". Then in the drop down menu I select Face, load the bitmap and the UV file. Save the file as a .p (field) and .* (battle) format.

5. I reemplace the saved file by the original Cloud's Head (rtao) and .tex file (rtac). Open Kimera 0.81 and load Cloud Battle model (rtaa), resize and adjust save, create a new LPG file with LPGTools, replace the original LPG and play the Game...

Thoes holes are flipped normals, to fix those in max you need to for example, select the hair then right click convert to editable poly. When you do a render you can also see the holes, to make life easier press 8 as in the number and it should bring up the environment panel, or in the toolbar rendering>environment. Then on the button under environment map press it, then when the material editor pops up use a planet map. Now when you render the holes will be more apparent.

Now to fix these select your hair and make sure you have it as an editable poly, and use polygon select (the red square) now select the poly's you want flipped and on the sidebar under edit polygons you should see a bunch of commands like bevel and extrude, there should also be a flip command. You will notice if a polygon is inverted or not, because when you select a poly it should normally be a bright red where as when its inverted it will be slightly duller red. Also for future reference you dont need to save UVW's and open them in Pcreator, when you export it and say preserve max coordinates that does the job for you.

Oh and nice job putting my words to pictures, coz I sure cbf :lol: (I think thats everything if not I'll update in my next post.)

Kimera .83 isn't deleting triangles it's showing you flipped normals, instead of rendering both sides witch the game doesn't do it renders the side witch the poly is facing so you have to go into 3ds max in flip these polys individually. I think I made a post on this somewhere earlier in one of my threads. As for the textures just try exporting it to game and if it still looks like that there you've done something wrong, if it doesn't it's just kimera being buggy. Happened to me before where the texs where screwed up in kimera but weren't in game so test that and post back.

I'd recommend deleting her cape and any of the dangly bits hanging off her shorts as these wont look right in game because they have no motion and just look out of place, you will get a hole in her bum but just cap it and move the uv's around a bit so it's just black on the back you won't really notice, this is what I did for mine anyway check a few of my screenshots.... Um it seems all my screenies have disapeared out of my thread either that or there just deciding not to load, but I still had them up on photobucket so heres what I mean.

I can see you've had a go with aeris as well she was by far the hardest one to get right, the top half is easy but making all the skirt parts fit together was hard coz you have to sort of bend the back of the skirt outwards so when she walks out you can't see through her dress for no apparent reason, also i reccomend making her leg go all the way up to her but so she has thighs. This will tell you if everythings fiting coz you shouldn't be able to see her ass basically :-P.

Yes, you're right, the hardest was Aeris. First, hes skirt, adjust them, fix the "see trough", and the transparency of Hair (I use the KH2 Head for Aeris). But finally, she "plus or less" work. Now I only need to make a more closed hand for them. How can I do? With MAX 9??

Well theres two ways of doing it the quick manual way or the long proper way witch is probably pointless but I'll point it out anyway lol.
Okay so the first way is just exporting one of the characters original hands using biturn then resizing it in max to roughly the same size of the KH hand or whatever your using. Then line them up at the wrist and manually select the polys starting with the knuckles all the way to the tip of the fingers, then using the rotate tool and using your original hand as reference rotate the angle to match. Then proceed to select the next set of polys from what would be the middle digits of the finger to the tip and rotate again. Then finally select the last set of polys from the end digits to the tip of the finger and rotate once more. Next you'll do the thumb by the same process im sure you get it by now lol.

Ok now onto rigging witch would be pointless unless your rigging the whole character but im not gonna go into to much detail anyway.
What I would do is cheat and use the biped helper set the hand segment to have 5 fingers and set the digits to 3, then drag your biped out and try and match the hand of your biped to the hand that your rigging. I'm not going to go into detail coz it's quite complicated, but you would then apply a physique modifier I think to the mesh and link it to the biped. Wich you would then spend the next half hour to an hour adjusting envelopes so when you move one finger it doesn't move the other. Then finally when you've done the you can just select the bone joint you want and rotate it like a real finger.

So you basically see witch would be the easier route here.

Well I see what your shadow problem is it's quite hard to explain, but basically you just need to go back into max an weld all the vertices together.
This means basically redoing everything except for cutting them up again, but possiblly because there already cut apart when you go to weld them it could destroy the entire model and theres no other way to fix that unless you either do that or turn of the lighting.

And no my game didn't crash more often.

NO definitely not boolean max booleans are evil and you should stay away from them :lol:. Your object has to be editable poly you then use select by vertices (the little dots), and select every vert on your object then press weld witch is on the right hand side somewhere, little hard to say exactly coz it will be in a different spot unless your using the same resolution as me. But it should be under edit geometry or something to that affect, if you cant find it post up again and I'll actually open max up and have a look :lol:

Just takes a bit of resizing, it doesn't hve to specifically fit the skeletoon just try and fit inline with it.
For starters try making the head smaller and that would make a difference then maybe just scale the forearm up a bit then and make the legs and feet smaller and you shouldn't have to add to the skeleton at all.

Hmmm just my opinion but I'd get rid of mesh smoothing and just use normals smoothing, because having them all rounded makes there clothes loose shape and increases polys by a ridiculous amount.

Increasing polys means more work for the proccessor even though it's a really old engine and the only thin that needs any work to do anything is the models, but people on lower end systems will even have a reduced framerate, plus mesh smoothing just doesn't look very good.
To do the normals smoothing just select the objects you want smoothed in max, go to the modifier dropdown list and select smooth, then tick the autosmooth box and increase the number on the smoothing thing to what you need, I tend to just max it out it looks fine then reimport your models and they'll be smoother but they'll still look like the originals.

i'm going to take the KH2's models in FF7 like some of you too, however i've got few troubles with 3Dripper
under XP, whenever i ran 3Dripper to analyze yaz0r's viewer, it always quit after i pressed Launch, not only the viewer but also any DX9-application. It seemed better when i ran under Vista, i could go to the viewer but it crashed immediately after pressing F12, can anyone help me  :cry:

I don't know anything about your 3dripper problem, but I know Tidus and Wakka don´t appear in KH2, And Auron appears in Hercules world, so search in Hercules files... "N_HE***_RTN.mdlx"

We could make a list of all models of both games (KH-KH2) with the names of these models...

Yeah I did that the other day,can't remember exactly how I fixed it, but I think it was a letter on the left hand side of the keyboard. Just try mashing the keyboard and see what happens, then work your way backwards through trail and error and see witch key does what, or you could do that first :-P.

kh2 are very weird. Select all verts and click weld. You don't see any diference, but the model will be welded instead you can't see XD.

The FF7 map for Jedi Academy is impressive.  They must be fans.  How about someone ask them if they would like to participate on a project?  They won't take part in model ripping, and to me that's fine.  I enjoy community made projects far more than "ripping parties."  For example, our very own NPC RP. :)

myself for one, (Made Rufus and the Turks) am working on a highly detailed Midgar and FF7 Player Models for the Upcomming game 'Crysis', Hunter (Yuffie and Tifa) is off working on his own projects, Elcypse (Vincent) is making a few more JK models then assisting my project, Szico (Mape the JK Midgar Map) is good with Map editors but can't model and The person who made the Cloud model just can't be contacted (we've tried many times before)

ah, you bring up another issue......about using our works.......well, i myself won't permit my models to be used in games that aren't officaly mod supported by the makers, or anything using the Source engine (I have my reasons for the second one). Basicly since there is alot of debat about the legitimacy of modding FF7 i chose to not get involved with it to be on the safe side (Eclypse also has the same view as me on this)

Hi I'm new here... and can I say, WOW! How did you get the KH models? Wouldn't it be great if you can put the models from KH2 into the game?

BTW, though I don't actually approve the use of realistic models for your mod, but don't you think that the game looks weird? Changing the battle models is a great idea, but changing the super deformed characters to the realistic models makes the game looks so unlike FF7 that we've come to love.. Rather, I think, changing the super deformed into a different, more advent children-look but still super deformed (the models can be modeled after the FF7 gasaphon figures) so that the game still look and feel like the original one. Besides, since I'm an animator myself, I know that it's much easier to model and put them back into the game what with the engine not supporting skinning and all. But that's just my thoughts and ideas... No offense whatsoever is intended here.. So PEACE guys!

As for making the game look weird, I find that it looks much better aslong as done correctly i.e making them fit the backrounds properly, so there the same size as the SD models but the proportions are more correct. Also note that the reason they went with the SD style models for the field is because the power of the playstation was very limited, so it really doesn't make any sense to have proper proportioned models in battle then when you leave they magically morph there bodies to SD  :lol:. Only thing I don't really think will work with slayers KH models is because when you have multiples of the same type of person onscreen it would look weird, or if say you had selphie in midgar then when you go to Junon shes there as well it just wouldn't work all to well.

Although I also prefer SD models it's obvious it isn't a very popular idea. Anyway, there is a good reason to keep models SD: animations. The animations were made to fit on SD models and they become problematic when used with proportioned model.

By skinning, I meant bone objects that can affect geometry so that it slides at the joints as opposed to just cut the geometry to pieces and link them to the bones. Yeah I'd always considered that skinning but every mod team I'm with refers to skinning as the application of a texture to a model, thus being it's skin. So I gave in and just accepted that as the norm  :lol:. Why don't they just call it texturing or something...

I tried it step by step.. but looks like I need much more help understanding it. When I tried to extract the model, take Vincent for example, I noticed that there several files containing the same model.. so which one do I use..

That's Eclypse's Shin-Ra MP Model and just like his Vincent model he doesn't want his work ported into FF7... (Seriously dude, ASK the author first before doing anything, it also doesn't help when it seems as though you're taking credit for the models, cause even if you didnt mean for it, it sure looks that way)

also i hope for your sake you asked Almighty_Gir for permission to use the body from his Sephiroth model, cause you do not wanna get on his bad side...

that aside I personaly reccomend you pick up a 3D program like 3dsmax or Blender and start learning to make your own models from scratch, as from the looks of it you have the potential, and it's much better than chopping up other people's work which in the end will probly get you into trouble with said people...

As I just stated above, he did not make those models, the Sephiroth is using the body from Almighty_Gir's Jedi Academy model and the head from the Kingdome hearts Sephy model. And the Shin-Ra Grunt is indeed the Jedi Academy model, which was made by Eclypse (whome i spoke to last night and he is not happy that weeemus has ripped off his model)

Those model conversions and the two heads are awesome!  :-D  My only critique is that you should alter the standing animation etc. to move the arms to the models' sides.  Looks kinda weird with arms splayed out like that on more realistic models.  :-P

I can see where you're coming from with not releasing it untill it's finished - a mix of FFVII models and KH models would be a poke in the eye!  But, on the other hand, releasing it would let everyone test it for ya and dig up the glitches a hell of a lot faster then on your own.  :-)

And yes, changing the battle models (espicially the party members) would be awesomeness on a stick!

Sounds like a very intentional "taking credit for other peoples models" to me.  If he wasn't trying to imply that he made the ShinRa MP etc. he would of stated that the models are from Jedi Acadamy.  Some people...

No offense but these just don't fit Final Fantasy VII for the Playstation 1 man.  Pitch in on the NPC RP, it's so perfect.  It's the way it was originally supposed to be, but I think they threw together some lego men models because it was rushed.  Notice the transition from VII to VIII?  These models are just too realistic.  They don't fit the animation or the backgrounds.  This may be just my opinion I don't know.  Anyone agree?

These models are just too realistic.  They don't fit the animation or the backgrounds.  This may be just my opinion I don't know.  Anyone agree?

I think we need to see them on an actual FFVII background before we can judge.  Also, I think half the battle with avoiding the "poke your eye out-ness" is making sure the models are all of a uniformed style.  Not Disney models mixed with lego men, as it were.  Also, the Disney models arn't that realistic - they still have a very cartoony element about them.

As I said first off, we're gonna have to wait till we see them in-game before we can judge.

You should do other weapons too. Not Red's, Cait's, and maybe not Tifa's (they're so simple), but everyone else's weapons would be awesome.

PS. I recommend using the buster sword that was released by somebody else in this forum. It looks more close to how the buster sword looks.

I never understood why the nail bat has the pointy ends of the nails INSIDE the bat, lol when making a nail bat in real life you'd wanna take some 9 inch nails and nail them all the way through so that the pointy sharp ends are sticking out right?  Makes sense to me at least, it would do more damage.

I think that there is a program called pc creator that can turn 3ds max models into ff7 format models.

To use them-->
I make them with 3DSMAX 9, so you must have it installed (IDK if lower version works too...)

To use them in game-->
Open them with 3DSMAX (9) and then, export all parts in 3ds format.
Then convert with PCreator every 4 parts in one .p file and apply and create the .tex file the texture with Pcreator too.
in Kimera, with a Field model, load a part of the Sword and then click on "Add part to the bone file"  to add the others...
Save and unify all parts in one when Kimera ask it and you'll have a complete Sword in .p Format, for field and battle models XD.

PS: There's a magnify tutorial in this forums made by squeeeble that teach you that process slowly

Hi again!
I try to edit the extreme-blocky models from condor.LGP file. I made it with one of them and the model was loaded OK, but when the game load the LGP file something strange happens. All background is black, and the models left 'stele', But I don't touch any .tex file of the LGP.
I try another thing: Decompile condor.LGP and compile it again with LGPTools without touch any file. The result is the same, Black Background....
Anyone has the same problem? Any idea to resolve it? Thanks!

    - Decompile your battle.LGP.
    - Paste on the created folder the files you just download.
    - Open Pcreator, load the .3ds file in the rar and select in 'Options'>Battle Model.
    - Then go to 'File' and select 'Open battle HRC' and oper 'rtaa' and 'siaa'...
    - Set the numer of textures to 10.and close Pcreator.
    - Compile again the battle.LGP with LGPTools.
    - put in FFVII/data/battle floder.

i used the latest version from that site if its any help, the Open Battle HRC should be like right in the middle of the drop down menu from 'file'.

You haven't got the high res patch?
I think if the game hasn't got the hi-res patch, it doesn't load textures bigger than 1024, so the weapons appears white or simply nothing appears...
My laptop have the original ff7.exe (1.00) and any Weapons don't appear (except Murasame and yoshiyuki, i think because these use a 512 texture...)
Please, equp Cloud with Murasame or Yoshiyuki and tell me if these sword appear correctly...

humm, make sure you are putting the files with the 514kb size in there,
i tried just picking out a couple i wanted upgraded, and then loaded up ff7,
and the weapons were white.

when i put in those extra files (rtae, rtaf, rtag, rtah, rtai) all the textures worked. :)
so you cant forget those, you absolutely have to extract all files, and create a new lgp.

Yes jeje, I didnt use your coat, because Aeris texture is 512x512 and there's no space to put the textures of your coat, so I edited my own XD.

Even tough I have downloaded and applied the weapons mod for non-High Res ff7, most of them just appear white :? And I'm talking about Yoshiyuki, Murasame, Crystal Sword, Enhance Sword, Heaven's Cloud and Rune Blade... (I think everything except Buster Sword and Hard Edge). Any help, please?

EDIT: Mythril Saber and Butterfly Edge also works fine.

It's pretty simple,just only you have to decompile battle.lgp into a folder,then put all the files downloaded into the same folder,replace all the files,then build a new battle.lgp and enjoy the news weapons!

So, everything is working correctly? Witn a Nvidia card and Nvisia card ticked on FF7config right? Maybe the normal (No the NOHR patch) patch works for you too... maybe only the ATI card don't work correctly without the Enhance eidos 1.02 patch.... I don't know

Yea, I was so excited about those weapons that I just ignored the pcreator step  :-P. But even after that step, weapons still had white colour... 
These weapons didn't work on my FF7 cuz I haven't ticked NVidia and TNT in my config, now this mod is working fine for me.

BTW slayersnext, your new Buster Sword is flawless.

Does it matter if I comment his work and vice-versa? As you said, that was personal thought. Evenmore, I and him have been friends for quite a long time so why shouldnt I say what I really think? We can learn some lesson from failure to get better and better, right ? Still, you can see that I DID admire his way of texturing (the previous posts) but not this time because of the reasons I said.

Btw, I'm sorry to dissapoint you that I dont have much time spending on modeling, especially this and next year. I even havent completed modeling Vincent for slayersnext as I promised but I can show you my very old practice I did. It was just a simply untextured low-poly model I did for training so plz dont blame me :)

Silver Wings, Only Mythril saber and Hard edge have woody texture and only in the handle, all the rest is metal and some gemstones and maybe glass and a lot of materials.  If I had use only straight metal textures, the sword would be bored, without scratch, no rusty, SO perfect and I hate this. For a straight sword, I have the originals ones... The imperfection is better XD thats because I used rusty metals, they're cool to kill monsters...... And me* (ops) and my friends like them right now  :wink:

The sword is good! Despite the fact that you only have a small time to spend on modding, this sword actually works quite well in the game. I have been looking for some tsurugi models throughout turbosquid, jedi academy and google sketchup but I think I prefer your sword. The only thing I have to do is just resize the texture to 256x256 and convert it to bmp.

With your sword I finally finish building my AC Cloud  :-D Im so happy to be honest i like the AC model much more than the original 1st soldier model

I'm a modeller myself you see, and I know where a lot of stuff here comes from and it's weird nobody has forbidden it, however I'm not going to point those out on stuff that got released just because I still admire the work of people here, even if some of it isn't fully theirs.

Even if it's edited, if it's based on the KH model it's illegal to distribute and could risk getting the site into trouble; I believe that there have already been some Cease and Desist letters sent to people distributing mods with KH models (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

I do know how to do it. Problem is - it only works on DX9 or higher devices. I have quite an old laptop with Intel GMA chipest which doens't work in DX9 mode, and thus when I try to rip anything with 3d ripper dx it simply crashes.

my point is that HE MADE IT from the ORIGINAL KH MODELS..meaning, that HE DID THE WORK for editing..thats why that is HIS OWn version oF EDITED KH clouud..plenty of people here have their own 'edited' KH models you know..so THAT WOULD BE HIS OWN VERSION OF IT..TANGA

If you did read what I wrote you'd know I did use it in the past and know exactly how the whole process goes ;P It's just that I sold PC and now all I have is laptop - which doesn't have DirectX9 hardware and thus 3d ripper dx won't work (Giving error about lacking directx9 hardware). I either need someone who could help me with getting the models in already 3ds max recgonizeable format or supply me an alternative to 3D Ripper DX. Sorry if I didn't make it clear last time.

Pcreator doesnt save lighting on the models, when you edit the model in Kimera it saves them again. But only if you use the feature that lets you edit one model, not the whole thing. If you use HRC resizer it saves lighting too :wink:

They're basically modified KH/KH2 models, so releasing for public will be unlikely to happen.

i don't have dissidia (PAL region always gets the games last :/) . and kh2 will arrive via mail in a few days.

yeah i must say the models are really great. it's pretty amazing that the old ff7 engine can handle complex 3d models.

Tried to follow your guide to get the models in game, But the .rars have .max files not .3ds and pcreator can't see or open .max

Tried to just open and then save in .3ds with 3ds MAX 09 but it won't let me. only have .max and .chr for save options.

hellbringer616, the Weapons Mod 1.0 have all, ready to insert in the game, so you don't need pcreator, only for open the cloud's RTAA file and set the maximun numer of textures (10). I'll put all the files that you need in the rar, so when you download the new rar, follow the instruction on the 1st page :D

I dont know how many textures use that cloud that his sword. My patch use RTAE, RTAF, RTAG, RTAH,RTAI, RTAJ, RTAK and RTAL, so if you don't use any of that, some sword comes weird, and if you delete some of APZ ones, the cloud looks weird

Oh, i was wondering, Did you just retexture all of Clouds weapons? Or did you completely remake them?
Also noted, There are only 8 more weapons until Cloud is complete  :-D

I think you can use Apz's Buster Sword alongside Slayersnext's other models. Hopefully, you'll only have to follow the instructions for putting these models into the game, and (when you've done all that) open the new battle.lgp file you've made with lgp tools, highlight rtck (go to the bottom and choose to look at files "10001-11000") and use the replace function to replace it with the rtck file from one of Apz's releases.

It almost goes without saying that you'll need to make backups throughout.

First, the screenshots dont do these models justice. They look amazing ingame - great job slayer, looking forward to more weapons if you plan on doing them.

Second, Thanks to Kudistos Megistos for the little instruction. After installing Slayers Weapon patch and the buster sword i had being over written, i re-downloaded the Apz Buster Sword and only using the RTCK file updated my battle.lgp.

I tested it and all seems good. i have all of Slayers models except the buster sword is Apz's buster sword :)

Damn... Most of these mods work but i cant get the AC sword into my game... I can view it in PCreator... and i the Blade in the crystal sword i cant even see it... there is not white blob or anything..... But i can see the handle just fine.. It kind of looks like an axe... its kind of cool actually :P... But i like the blade a lot more...

Also the outer layering of the Ultima Weapon is missing... um.... the outer textured piece???? Well as to say I'm missing part of the blade... but there is no white blob........

Mmm, Ultima Weapon and Crystal Weapons (in tehe .p files) are made in two groups, the edge and the rest of the Sword... looks like yours game don't support that and show only one 'group'. Other Idea is that these two Sword have the edge transparent, and maybe the game hasn't support it or someyhing. Try this... If it isn't work, then the problem is about the groups..._:

Open RTCZ (Ultima) with Kimera and:
 * double click on the white model
 * then un 'group' section, select 'Group 0' (Or the edge group) , click on 'Group Properties'and set the transparency to 100%.
 * Save the Sword.
Try that and maybe the Sword looks correctly, but without transparecies...

Okay, I did that and it made the sword show up fine. I then tried to open it back up and set it to 25% to try it, but Kimera keeps saying "Error while loading file" on any of the models I try to open. I tried re-extracting battle.lgp and that didn't help. I tried running Kimera as Administrator and that didn't work. I can't get it to do anything anymore.

How many Sword looks weird, only crystal and Ultima? Are you using the Hi-res patch right?...
Put all the rar files (except 'RTCK'(Buster Sword Model) and 'RTAE'(BUster and Mythril texture, only if APZ's Sword use that texture) in your folder with all Battle.LGP content.
Before compile the LGP file, be sure that you open PCreator, and clic on...
 * Options > Battle Model
 * File > Open Battle HRC
 * Search RTAA and a new window will apear saying 'Please enter a positive Integer'. Type '10' and close.
If all before is 'True' all should be fine... If the sword still corrupt, upload a pic or something...
Tried this. It already said 10 when I opened it. Here's a screenshot of the Ultimate Weapon:

Okay i did all that,,, and now the crystal sword is fixed... but the Ultima Weapon looks like a blend of the original and Slayers new model...... i'll get  a  screen in just a minute

Before i did this "fix" it looked like the problem Idec Sdawkminn was having... no outer layering.... but now it just looks off to me... tell me if I'm wrong.............



Okay I First installed Slayer's weapons.....Then i over writ with APZ's......... and i think by doing that.......... it made the original Ultima weapon come back..?

Alright, for some reason, I was able to open it back in Kimera. It doesn't make sense. I tried the sword, it couldn't load it, I tried a different one that wouldn't work before, it opened fine, then tried the sword and it opened fine. Anyway, I looked and it was set to 25% already :? so I saved it and it works in game.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I re-extracted your RAR, so it overwrote it with the original 25% one. :-D It seems as though opening it and saving it makes it work, even without changing anything.

Sometime ago, I want know how a Cell Shaded model was, and yesterday, I have an idea of how they could be, so I tried that idea into Cloud ^^ and...pheww, finally I have been able to make a 'CellShaded' Cloud into FFVII. I think that characters looks good with that style. Here's a Video:

hah, I never imagined the day I saw a cell-shaded FF7 would come this quickly  :-D

I can see it isn't TRUE cell-shading, only the edge-outlines have been exaggerated somehow.
My guess is a backwards facing black mesh, slightly thicker than the original, overlayed on top, but I might be wrong (you dont have to explain how you did it if you dont want to though :-P)

But nice experiment slayersnext, I am glad it worked out and looks so cool!


I personally would not want a cell-shaded FF7 though, I like the gritty sense of the original style better  :-)

Koral, I don't know how to explain in english and in correct 3d terms what I do to obtain that, but i think I did what you say. Im not going to cell shade all models (+348 in fileds and the batles one, uff), this is just an 'experiment' as you said, I wanna know how and cell shaded model could be, but maybe tifa...XD

thats about the only way to do it without a toon shader built into the engine :P (at least as far as i know)

the only downside is that it doubles the poly count.

depends on the computerthe models from kh2/dissidia or more of what ppl put in ff7 arnt that hi poly, usually staying around 4-6000 tris, double that is 12000 per character... times 3 characters that are shaded is 36k tris... most computers can take that now.

Tifa's body was done by a guy called Hunter, it's Jedi modder. The Head if from Kh2. Not done by me (except the Ponytail) I'm not too good enough yet ^^

The rar includes rtaa rvaa and siaa skeletn (Cloud, Final Battle Cloud and Aeris skeletons, witl originals dimensions and legth of bones) But they already set to load 10 textures, in other words,  with pcreator step done.

If you overwrite rtaa siaa and rvaa with these rar files, nothing would change, except the cloud and aeris models should have 10 textures slots instead 2. Now if you download Clouds weapon path and Aeris weapons patch and overwrite the files in your battle lgp folder, everything should work OK without the Pcreator step. The weapons should be textured

Yes thats what i mean, Might want to clarify that because on the front page it sounds like you need to do that even for weapons.

Also, i FINALLY got pcreator working and changed it so everyone has 10 texture slots, I'm using APZ cloud. everything looks the same, But is that bad?

Those cellshaded models are beyond awesome. Will/Can you release your progress as you go along? Really want cloud's model.

You and I both, but one thing is important, there is only one symbol that doesn't have a vowel sound... and that is 'n' ( 'ン' / 'ん' )
it can only be used after a vowel sound... some symbols are abbreviated in some words... shi sometimes sounds like 'sh' but it is shi...


sha, shu, sho are actually SHIya SHIyu SHIyo (the size of ya yu and yo are actually small in these cases...)

Likely the same way everyone else has.  Probably searched the forums (without making annoying repetitive posts about how to get models).  Probably used google a bit.  And then I imagine he probably spent a lot of time using the "guess and check method" to find out what the perfect combination was to get the models to look just right.  I mean after all he does a wonderful job of it.  In fact, this whole topic about ripping models is so wonderful, that I want to continue finding any hint of it in other threads and repeatedly ask questions about how to do it.  That seems like the most logical thing to do after all.  And hell, if person after person after person makes it abundantly clear that discussing ripping models is AGAINST THE RULES, well I'll just ignore them.  Why you ask?  Well it will either be because I don't fully understand English, or just because I am just that F*cking ANNOYING.  Seriously, get a clue, guy.  Also, quit using the Ultima edition.  Go out and buy a real copy.

1.  While I highly doubt you're using an original copy, it's currently irrelevant.

2.  Curiosity is great, until someone informs you that you're curiosity is getting you into trouble.  Then you should quit being curious.

3.  I could care less that you're a newbie.  How "new" you are makes no difference.  Within the past week there have probably been at least 6 occasions where only a handful of people have been told to quit talking about getting models from other games.  I'm quite sure you've read them, as you seem to find all of them and then ask how to get said models.


In case there is still a language barrier.. read this >> You are not allowed to talk about models from other games, ever.
Hopefully that clears everything up

Having trouble with a couple models...

Crystal sword:

I tried replacing both rtcq and rtcy with redownloaded copies, and I also tried the PCreator step and made sure the battle texture positive integer was set to 10 for rtaa before repackaging battle.lgp

any suggestions?

Err Why now the models only have shadow in some parts? Isn't weird XD. For example:

Jaitsu you suck. Read a thread from start to finish to find the answer before you post. That is a JK3 custom Tifa with a KH2 head. It is a ported model so Slayersnext cannot release it ever. The only way to get a Tifa that looks like that is to make it for yourself.

Alright guys.
He's not to blame so much because the discussion of 'ripped models' ticks the Moderator off of this forum.
If the discussion of 'ripped models' or the request of those models is allowed to continue, then the Moderator of this forum (Halkun) will lock this thread and we all wouldn't want that. I mean, sure, he could have easily said "Guys, we can't talk about that here because it is against the rules" but after seeing hundreds of other members asking for those models, one does tend to get tired. So guys ease up, he didn't mean to insult you in any way, it just gets too old after a while.

All I can suggest in the future is to read the whole thread. It has come up in the thread before that these models arent allowed anymore. Please read through a thread before reviving it. If a thread is a month old or older there is usually a good reason for it.

I tried to install Slayersnext's weapons for cloud and the loveless weapon custom mod but I'm having 1 problem with the textures.

Well, the textures for the Loveless are named as 'rtak.tex' and the ones for the butterfly weapon from slayersnext's custom weapons is named 'rtak.tex' too, I changed the .tex name to other one, and now I'm trying to change the .tex file in the weapon part (rtcn) but I don't know how, I tried with Kimera. and with PCreator. Does anyone know how to do this ?

Edit: Plz somebody help, I tried to change the texture's groups of the weapons in the P editor in Kimera and it shows 'em correctly but in the game it is the same thing.

I dunno what more else is possible to do.

K, I'll try with v0.91. I used v0.95b since I heard that that version runs ok to mod the Battle Models.

I tried with an older version of kimera but it didn't worked
