Possible Mods for The Legend of Dragoon
« on: 2012-09-22 11:28:23 »
Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in modding the timeless Sony classic The Legend of Dragoon for the Playstation. There are many versions of it available that could be modded, including the following:

Platform(s) PlayStation, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable
Release date(s) PlayStation:

JP December 2, 1999
 NA June 11, 2000
 EU January 19, 2001
 PlayStation Network:
 JP December 22, 2010
 NA May 1, 2012

Four disc long, and very well created, many fans of this game supposedly were interested in making a sequel for it, since the pre-production of the sequel was unexpectedly canceled. So one of the main purposes of modding the game is to be able to possibly make a fan-based sequel.

UPDATE:

Just played 40 minutes of the game's Disc One on my Playstation 3. I had to use Cinema Zoom times four to get the game to fit the screen of my 47" LG LED LCD TV. The graphics are not as good as Final Fantasy IX's graphics, which is not a problem. I am sure you would agree with me that would be awesome to find a way to upscale the graphics for this great game.

All those are basically the ps1 version. Id be interested in seeing mods for this as well. But once you change the files you need a modded ps1, ps2, ps3, psp, or an emulator to play. The results would be similar to the current mods for ff7 on ps1.

There are no tools and probably zero documentation on LoD mechanics and stuff
good luck with that.

No wonder there are so many petitions online for the sequel.

I would love to figure out the battle system on this classic.

I'm not holding my breath on this. figuring out this stuff on PSX games is very annoying and a long process

If i knew anything id help or start this. From the sounds of it. Breaking a game down is alot of guess and check, process of elimination and educated guesses

Thank you for your encouragement. I just downloaded to my Playstation 3 and my PSP 3000 The Legend of Dragoon. I did not feel like spending $65 on an old game for the Playstation. I will buy the original later from a great store called Software Seconds.

you realize that you need the game on your PC before you can do anything at all

I do indeed realize this. I need to purchase a better video card than the one I have.

I also realize that this does exist:

Hey, I like your new name, @The Rocket Kuugen. I shall not hold my breath, and save up my money to hire a IT Technician to help me do some scripting and reverse engineering for The Legend of Dragoon.

I just got my Epsxe emulator to work with my copy of the Legend of Dragoon disc one of four. I made a copy of the disc as an .iso file using Magic Iso.

Would anyone be willing to share with me any tools or plugins or even advice on how to see real time data while playing the game?
