I like that, the only problem is the bottom hanzi is not meant to have a squiggle.  That is because the coin Luksy posted is worn away.  Have a look here at bottom symbol.
even if thats so the coin worn away looks nice enough and my last ones will be as realistic as i could make it look
I'm going to call them like I see them.

While I rarely use the coin command (mostly never) looking at that texture does kind of scream "redo me". I like where this re texting is going, but I have some issues with versions 4 and 5.

V4 has very defined ripples. Looks a little hypnotic. Maybe make them not go so far out from the coin and diffuse them a little so they look less like neon strings and more like waves.

V5 is very bright. The contrast of th characters makes them almost as illegible as the original texture especially because they'll be scrolling.
i agree but im making a bulk of options so people can choose their Favorite

Hello. New here. I was just wondering (sorry if it's already been asked) if there was any special instructions for the new Re-release that SE did in the last few days. I've messed around with the bootleg and can get the game to launch with some mods but some of the graphics look funny, some spells don't quite come out right. Just not sure if I did it right for the new rerelease as it seems that its a little different then the discs.

Thanks!

Black Chocobo save editor can reset your ruby and emerald weapon in options tab however i do like the idea of refighting them over and over without restarting the game each time  ;)

i did it on a bootleg install. tried a few times. maybe lgp didnt compile right. ill try again when my videos  are done
as i understand it when installed with bootleg it automaticly restores any alterations you make in those files

install without using bootleg program and mod that install to make it work

a giant hairclip?

tried using another characters weapon. used clouds buster sword. in kimera the model and texture showed correctly. In the game nothing no change. Ideas?

just one try the mod on a regular install instead of a bootleg install?
i base this sugestion on my first attempt to mod on a bootleg install  ;)

Original Green Background
Ver.1

Transparent
Ver.2

Gold
Ver.3

Ver.4

Ver.5

for now i will leave it at these  unless people wish me to make more :P

try by setting the Final Fantasy config v1.02 to Nvidia and TNT to get the fail of the 8 bit paletted textures to be gone
and maybe you need to set your resolution to match your screen resolution too in the bootloader config option
if that doesnt fix it i wouldnt know where else youre going wrong.

It's 元祐通寶

Here's a "few" images of the same coin

http://tragan.lolipop.jp/hokusou/hokusou/genyuu.htm

Northern Song, minted around 1086~1093 for this dude.
thank you this will be of great help to me  ;)

The added detail is nice, but the uniform green of the original was done on purpose. It's a lot easier to read the text in front of it.

The green hides the fact you can read the menu behind the skill window
i found i could still read the normal menu behind the coin animation when i used
the new transparent ones i made after getting the original coin picture for reference

well i wouldnt mind making a few different options for people to choose from

Edit:
As gil is gold coins it could be this one

I've been waiting for Felix to redo these also :P Good work btw :)

I'd prefer you have kept the original symbols, Luksy left the documentation on a thread of mine somewhere.

i used the original file and applied some filters this was the result
if you look carefully you can see the original symbols still present.

and just for giggles a cyan colored timer  :P

« on: 2012-05-18 14:32:59 »
Actually, I have some theory that Midgar is actually underground, the slums I mean. Ok, have a look at the reactors base

You cant really see the actual base of the reactor even on ground level in these, maybe just a little but not nearly as big as it should be shown in this

during the game if you ride on the train you can actually talk to barret and he tells you
how midgar was built on the towns who's names have been forgotten
so in my opinion its canon.
i do believe however that much of the reactors and tunnels
are underground and the weight of the plate for the top level
is being supported by underground constructions.
also dont forget there was a barrier surounding midgar and you need a key
to open the door to get back into sector 5.

Why are there stars in the intro video showing clearly... just asking... :) Isn't Midgar an underground city?
its actually a city built on top of (above) a collection of towns that have been subdivided into sectors
the original town names have long since been forgotten 8-)
