If I knew what  files to edit and turn to .TEX files, i could turn the battle model into a working field model like i did the apz cloud soldier 1st class version and WhiteRaven's Timu Barret retex.

just copy ruac and ruad and rename them ruac.tex and ruad.tex hope that helps

you should check that first

first, ruad and ruac are both battle files
ruac is for the head textures
ruad for the body textures

Second, If you have the grimmy tifa model you can open the field files, and use biturn or img2tex to view the tex files.
If I remember correctly the field texture file for tifa is AAHD.Tex or something..

I know you can copy RUAD and RUAC as .TEX files and use them. The battle files don't use type ".TEX," they just use type "file"   However, only working on those 2 wasn't enough. There has to be another TEX. I'll hunt for Grimmys Tifa.

You've got good memory. AAHD.TEX was the common file in both the field and world. Gonna test them and see.

lol I did try to work on the field model last week.. so its not that strange to remember the file.. I sent you a copy of my grimmy original tifa.. good thing its still in my mail..

Thanks. I had googled it just before I saw the email. Managed to find the right files to TEX and your Tifa is now working on the field. Trying to create a spot on Black Chocobo where she is the party leader, right after getting the highwind, to test if conversion to world map was also sucessful. Then I will be posting up gifs of the battle, field and hopefully world models, then I'm gonna hit the hay seeing as it's almost 2 am over here. Tomorrow I'll encrypt all the files including the Barret, the cloud Soldier 1st class, and the limit texture on Mediafire.

EDIT: Success on all phases!!!

Lol, I should be the one thanking you for taking time in converting my model to field.. I think It'll be better if we compile the battle, world and field versions together in one release, that way it'll be easier for the users.. We can add the chocobo version to complete the tifa models..

lol thats what i had in mind. For instance the barret model i modified includes your battle model in it.

I think you already know but anyway..yes field models are in char folder..

thanks for helping me in the conversions.. for some reason my kimera can't handle field models.. I keep having that runtime error 7,

there is a problem with her hair
it basically sticks to her neck and thus looks really weird

isn't Tifa's hair also supposed to split at the end?

yup I'm aware that the hair should be split, the dolphin tail (thats what some calls it) but the tifa model I used was done by grimmy dont use the dolphin tail hair type, I'm don't have that much experience in modeling.. all I did was change the texture and made some resizing using kimera thus I was not able to change the shape of the hair..

as to the sticking to the neck thing.. I think thats an issue on the field model. I cant fix that right now my kimera encounters a lot of error when working with field models.. hopefully JLOUTLAW will check on this.. he did the conversions to field, maybe he can fix that..

Thanks for pointing that out.. that's because I edited the shirt  to be shorter, it seems it doesnt match with the model.. I could fix that if I make the shirt longer again to cover that..

but personally I like tifa's shirt shorter thats why I overlooked this error in favor of the shirt.. lol.. I thought it wont matter much since it's only visible in few animations.. but if bothers the users might as well fix it..

EDIT:

on second thought.. I wont be editing the battle model further except for issues critical to gameplay, I'm satisfied by how I was able to improve grimmy's tifa model and would like to try other models, of course if anyone likes to continue editing this model its fine with me..

for issues on  field and world model versions JLOUTLAW is the man for that, he made the conversions so he'll know more..

I was able to add the so called dolphin style hair onto it.
I guess I can release that too... but problem is I need help texturing the hair...
Belay that....I check back the model is a mess (head is out of proportion now for some reason) arms are stretched and placed above the joint areas... the whole thing needs a new texture too in order for the hair to work...
Basically it's better if I continue from scratch to add the dolphin tail... and honestly I ain't cut out for doing this type of stuff.

Sorry in a furious rage to self fix my own mistake I rage erased it after failing one too many time for my short attention span to take :-[.
If the Dolphin tail is very important to you I'll try again once I've learned how to create models better. But I've probably have a better chance at trying to make a new model then trying to add the tail by force to an existing model.

Lol.. I tried this before using the hair of the original tifa model..

It's easy with kimera though i was not able to texture it, I'm still learning how to make UVs

Haha, it really is.. The colors don't match.. and corners are showing in the hair.. thats why I did not include that hair on the release..

BTW is the hair on the zerox tifa model also ripped???

Zerox's model is the Dissidia model, he's just tweaked the geometry and texture, so it's best not to use anything from it
