General Discussion / BEFORE CRISIS SUBTITLED
« on: 2009-05-23 06:27:56 »
BEFORE CRISIS SUBTITLED COMING SOON!!

Well I got tired of not really contributing anything to this community other than a helping hand and my opinions.   So I've happened upon Before Crisis Vids and I'll be using the translation by a girl known only as Dark Angel to hopefully completely sub over the in-game dialogue.  You can see her translations at http://www.freewebs.com/gunshotromance/missions.htm

Now, she hasn't completely finished so not ALL of them will be done, but I can still upload what I can do.  So if anyone knows of a good program to insert subs with please let me know.  Also, from what I understand subbing takes a while so if there are any volunteers please speak up!

Since it's summer I should have plenty of free time to get all of these done in minimal time.

Ok so I've been browsing the interwebs for about 15 minutes and have discovered that a "mariokart64n" has discovered a way to rip models from PCSX2 using 3dripperdx and 3dvia (I think).  What he has done is activated the program when the model is facing forward, backward, and on either side.  The reason for this is PCSX2 displays models in a 2D way, so from what I understand the emulator isn't displaying the entire model all at once, only the side you see.  This means whenever you use the ripping programs you are only ripping 1/4 of the model.

My question to all of you is,  how has he combined them making a completely 3D model?  The handful of forums I found him posting on were either from 2008 or he had since left them  :|

Completely Unrelated / Advent Children Complete + Unknown

Hopefuls have yet another statement to cling on to so that their dreams of a Final Fantasy VII remake might happen. While I myself have given up on that pipe dream long ago, I've always followed the "if it'll happen, it'll happen" school of philosophy. But report on this I shall, nonetheless.

Veteran Square Enix character designer Tetsuya Nomura has revealed to Dengeki magazine that they're prepping quite a doozy of an announcement right alongside the release of the Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children Complete movie.

According to translations, FF7ACC is pretty much done now and they're just about to announce the Japanese release date for that movie. And when they eventually do, they'll be dropping one Mother of a bomb. All sources point towards the upcoming DKΣ3713 event, or maybe even sooner, during E3.

[translation]

The Japanese release date [for FF7ACC] has been decided, but it will have to wait (probably to the event DKΣ3713 in early August) so that it is unveiled. Nomura also notes that a big announcement that should accompany the release date, without giving more details.

As you can see, not much is known about what they'll be revealing, not even whether or not it's FF7-related to begin with - at this point it could be anything. FF7 remake aside, it could be of or relating to the FF7 canon. That includes Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core, Before Crisis, and Advent Children. Maybe a new game altogether? Heck, it might even be about Dissidia: Final Fantasy.

General Discussion / FF7 PC on PSP?
« on: 2008-03-29 19:50:17 »
I know it is possible to run a makeshift OS like XP and Vista on the PSP, and though I am sure I already know the answer to this question I just have to ask.

Is it possible to take the files from FF7 PC along with a No CD crack, upload it to the PSP via a Windows program, and get it to run?

Since it is already easy to emulate PS1 games I don't see why it wouldn't be possible for it to run an "archaic" game like FF7; I just don't know how accurate the PSP OSs are.

I found this picture a few months back, but I have no idea how to read any type of Japanese.

Can anyone here translate this?

Completely Unrelated / Crisis Core..

If you haven't yet played the game, be forewarned that this post may contain spoilers.

That said, I have a few questions concerning the storyline.
Ok so Gillian was the first test subject for the newly discovered Jenova roughly 20 years before the original FF7 starts.  She was injected with Jenova cells then one of her eggs was donated to the mayor of Banola and his wife.  Their child was named Genesis.  About a year later Hollander and Gillian had a child together which they named Angeal.  Both of these experiments were known as Project G (for Gillian I assume) and were considered failed experiments as neither child exhibit any signs of greater power.  Later on in their life both Genesis and Angeal begin exhibiting greater strength and abilities, one of which includes the ability to create copies.

Genesis can do so by having his own cells injected into another test subject that had already been injected with Jenova cells.  This causes the person to not only look like him but gain some of his strengths.  I think Angeal is the same except when his cells are used the subjects then turn into monsters that have his face somewhere on their body.  However, if his cells are injected into someone who has not previously received Jenova cells then they will only look like him (Lazard).

For some reason this causes deterioration for both of them.  Almost like it is spreading their life through the subjects and makes their body break down exponentially.

My question is, do I have this right so far?  And if anyone understands the story of how the Tsviets keep their own identities without looking like Genesis please explain it to me.  Crisis Core is great, but damn it can get confusing.
