Am I seriously the only one that remembers we were all born in the same orphanage?

I really do want to see a good mod for CT as it was one of the best rpg's ever made.
I'm thinking the mod is not worth the risk. If Sq/Enix decides to die or let Trigger fall to public domain, I'll be all over it.
Anyway, there are two good mods for CT I've played. One is Chrono Trigger Colosseum. It's basically the regular game, but a well-done Colosseum is added-on, with bonus battles and prizes, kind of similar to the Gold Saucer's battle square.
The other is Chrono Trigger - Flames of Eternity. This is an unofficial direct sequel to CT for SNES, and what I've played of it is very well put-together for a fan project; Most of the time, it feels almost as good as the real thing.
There's a third one floating around that tells the side-story of Magus. I've heard good things.

I'm playing Black 2 a bit right now and it's not bad, though they need to change the format a whole lot more than this (especially storyline wise) if Gamefreak wants people to keep playing.

I thought it was a given that they'd release a truly 3D Pokemon RPG at some point during the N64 lifecycle. When it didn't happen, I was surprised. Since it still hasn't happened a decade later, I'm even more surprised.

So, anybody give this a try yet? Even if it's not official and not done yet, an MMO pokemon seems to be the next-best thing to a full-blown 3D one.

Completely Unrelated / Re: PS3 Games: Any recommendations?
« on: 2012-10-22 18:31:16 »
The ending of AC2 made me LOL. Part 1's ending felt intriguing. Made me want to continue on to get answers. The answers Part 2 offered felt pretty ridiculous, if I'm to be perfectly honest. The gameplay was top-notch, but I didn't even want to bother with the series after that.
Kind of odd you had the opposite reactions.
If I could recommend a PS3 game, well, reading this thread reminds me of how lackluster this gen has been. I guess Skyrim, although you're better off with it on computer. And the Rockband series always did it for me. But if you can play real guitar at any capacity or desire to learn, definitely get Rocksmith instead.

He's only talking about my FF7DISC1 ISO that a created with a blank text document. It's linked to Mediafire in the page 1 Tutorial.
Ah, ok. My bad.

Nice job, I especially love how sharp the logo looks now.
Here's a few nigglings I noticed:
-The camera gets jumpy as it's sweeping out of the city.
-At 1:34 you can see the words 'PLAYSTATION 3 TECH DEMO' suddenly pop out of the grey banner.
-Even though you did a good fade-in with an overlay, the transition from the new cutscene graphics to old when the camera is descending to the train station is a bit jarring. It would almost be better if you were to--rather than fade-in--switch to the old cutscene graphics between cuts to the train itself.

Not to mention the torrent for bootleg is gigantic enough as it is thanks to so many videos...
If you are going to do this, you may want to start with the 2012 PC videos instead of trying to work with the PSX videos as so many have done before (and have done a good job).
Also, that was kind of a low blow to FF8.

i still prefer this one over yours http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTvC2p2x2g0
Is there a version you know of that doesn't have the "My name is Cloud, Soldier FIRST CLASS" part?

I wouldn't call this ... thing ... taunting us.
Even if it was legal and made available to download, I wouldn't use it. While the textures are nice and professional looking, his head size is way too large for the height of his body, making him look like a deformed midget or something. Look at the width of his shoulders compared to his head and the length of his short stubby legs and his smooshed-in torso and you'll see what I mean.

Another great improvement! Constructive Feedback: Yuffie's eyes appear to be a teensy bit too high, a little too close to her eyebrows now.

^That video sucks :P

This ones better:

I wasn't sure what Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix was. But now that I've looked it up, it's impressive and  might be exactly what I need to give the series another try. Plus I can finally get my hands on a 3D Chain of Memories that way.

General Discussion / Re: Kingdom Hearts series
« on: 2012-09-24 14:15:34 »
When Kingdom Hearts was announced, I wasn't sure what to think. But when I started playing it, I was impressed. Square + Disney really did mesh together surprisingly well. It also helped that I was a fan of Utada Hikaru--I already had imported a few of her albums.

But strangely, I have yet to complete a KH game. In the first game, I loved exploring the island. Somehow I got bored when exploring the worlds after it. The areas to explore for each universe were too small, and there was less mystery to the world once you leave the island. Some worlds got better treatments than others, leaving me feeling like the whole experience was uneven. Much of the music was also a bit ... 'plain'.

Chain of Memories was cool on GBA. But I kept forgetting where I was going (I think partly due to the 2D graphics). Eventually I stopped picking this game up because the PS2 game was released. I kept an eye on the price but it never dropped enough for me to go play it, and I really didn't feel like starting over.

KH2 had an even slicker presentation than part 1, which was pretty impressive in the first place. Strangely, I actually enjoyed the Roxas part of the game better than the rest of it. It suffered many of the same problems as the original, though, and ultimately just couldn't hold my attention.

Then the series started going strictly portable. I played the two DS releases a little bit, but I played them far less than the PS2 and GBA releases. Maybe it's just me, but there was just something missing.

Not just the face but the width of the arms, legs, knees, stomach, I like her shirt better now too, very nice work!

Whoa, you should be unlockable in DustForce!

I remember that scene. ... It's really cool but Barret's gun arm seemed oddly short to me.

Apple trolled pretty hard with their 'I'm a Mac' campaign. It was only a matter of time before somebody trolled them back.
I've found that most people who bought the iPhone 5 have no idea what the specs are because it's been downplayed by the popular media such as The Today Show.

18
That was a remake or total conversion, not a mod iirc.
mods require you to have the original game so yeah
Well, I might be asking for it even though it's not a total conversion. My idea was to have Crono and friends use time travel to prevent the Square-Enix merger from ever happening. lol.

I wouldnt bother trying the last group of guys that tried to make a CT mod got fined alot of money
and were threatened to be taken to main court for charges. Sucks too because the mod they made was like a remake of the old one and
looked really good. They just didnt want there characters used.
Crap, I was afraid of that. I started thinking about all that while I was writing the script. Thanks for the heads up.

Gameplay / Re: Monster Arena / Pvp

I don't mind people not believing in it lol. It only proves how awesome my idea is. :)
Uh, you're totally nuts. I wouldn't use this mod in a million years. I'd give you mad kudos if you somehow achieved it, but let's face it--if you start working on this side project, you'll be doing it for yourself because it's want YOU want to do. And that's perfectly fine.
I don't wanna kill your momentum though because you have some skills and I agree with the general consensus that your FF6 models are pretty damn awesome; I'd use those in a heartbeat.

hex editing is your friend
when I made my Grandia I mod, I did everything by hex edit too
never gonna bother with that again though

Hm. I have done a little hex editing in Chrono Trigger, but it was years ago and only minor stuff like giving myself more Silver Points. I remember that the data was stored in two areas: one for the display on-screen, and one for the actual # in inventory.

Guess I'll have to start researching.

I'm curious about your Grandia mod. I love that game.

I started looking into the tools and it doesn't seem feasible yet. I hope I'm wrong.
Anybody tried this and can give me any pointers?

So you vary a lot between Anxious heart and OST remastered ! Looks nice  :)
Personally, I was only on the OST remastered before discovering Anxious heart, and now I have selected this last in FF7Music, cause it sounds so 'woooow', awesome  :D
You have selected each music one by , comparing the best choice between both and configuring it ? It's great !
Yes, it turns out they mix and match very well. I don't have volume issues or anything!

24
One of my favorite aspects of the FF series is the music. If FF4 got me interested in it, FF6, Chrono Trigger, and FF7 cemented that interest for a lifetime.

There's a wide variety of music out there that we could use in our games. I know one place in particular I've never mined (because the sheer volume of music is overwhelming) is ocremix.

I've seen people say they use Black Mage tracks and other interesting things, so I thought it would be cool to see what other people are using. By sharing our playlists, perhaps we can discover new and better selections for our music.
