Vista and FF7 and FF8
« on: 2007-09-30 12:29:33 »
Hi guys,

I've already used search function, but it didn't help.
I've switched to Vista and now I experience different problems.

FF7 - it worked and I could see the menu, but there were no FMVs played. I tried to use different kinds of coec configuration, disabled truemotion in ffdshow and enable it, install truemotion codec - it doesn't work now. Every time I play FF7 it gives me an error.

FF8 runs and it goes blank - nothing happens.

I'm really dissapointed with Vista from that side!

(my time to shine it seems)
http://www.theartoftom.com/other/FF7VistaPatches.zip this has a truemotion codec, don't worry, this one will install.

as for 8, you need to place the ff8.exe in a different folder such as game in the ff8 main directory.

tell me if these do not work for you.

FF7 doesn't work. Will test FF8.

If it still happens then I'm going back to WinXP :(

this actually works... at least for me it does.  I don't know the logic behind it, though.
