Converter won't stop patching

So yesterday I downloaded 7th heaven+remako mod and it worked just fine!
But today windows made me update my system but after the update, the game just stopped working.
I tried to reinstall the game through steam but when it was time to convert the game it just said
Patching...
for 2 hours straight.
I tried reinstalling it multiple times on multiple drives,deleting all the keys I could and even the automatic key remover just didn't do anything!

I had this problem yesterday if you press Y you can get the patcher to continue but I'm not sure if it worked that way. In the end what I did was use the ff7 converter on another pc and copy all the ff7 files over.

Thers something with the registry keys I think that once you install its really hard to get rid of but for me using the other pc was the quickest way since deleting those registry keys just didn't want to work. hopefully an experienced user helps you out but this is how I solved my issue.

The FAQ shows how to properly do a clean reinstall. You need to use the registry cleaner tools it lists.
