Does anyone here have and ATI Radeon 8500? Looking for some feedback on it, as I'm considering getting one.

How does it work with FF7 and FF8 PC?

Please don't give me any useless info like about how much ATI's drivers suck.... I know they suck but when apparently the 8500 gives equal or better performance to the GeforceTI500 card at less then 1/2 the price, I think I can live with crappy drivers.

Well, I don't have the 8500, I have an earlier Radeon ... but the driver support for that was fine. So you shouldn't have to live with crappy drivers anyway ;)

My experience with FF7/8 was fine. Needed the NVidia patch for FF7, but that got it working fine. I doubt the 8500 will be any different.

I was working with Radeon 8500 alittle, but i did not have it at home, so i dont know how is it with games. My friend told me: It is as good as GeForce 3, maybe even better, but yea, its harder with drivers, Ati is smaller company. And it has all functions as GeForce3.

I really like that double monitor support ! Its really c00l

If by "low-end" you mean the GF4 MX ... were you not aware that they're essentially just souped GF2s? Not even all the features of a GF3, nevermind having the GF4 additions....

Yeah, the low-end GF4's seem to be not even as good as most of your GeForce3's.  The GeForce4 TIs, though... those things look nice...... too bad I don't have $300+ for one of those :-p

Seriously I wouldn't touch a Geforce4 MX, those things are barely better then my Geforce2MX 400.

The Geforce3 is FAR superior to the G4MX, and soon it will drop in price.

And yes I'd love a Geforce4 Ti, but unfortunetly I could NEVER justify  the $500+ (CDN) to buy one.

Well I hear you with the bottlenecks,

I have an Athlon 1700+, now with *1.5* GB PC2100 DDR RAM, and I only have a Geforce2MX card. I have finally upgraded EVERYthing but my video card.

I'm so torn between the GeForce3 Ti500 and the ATI 8500.... actually does anyone here have the Geforce3 ti500??? How is it running?

Aggg... I don't know what to do.
