Archive / Vertex color with the 3DS format
« on: 2007-03-20 18:58:54 »
I'm using 3ds max to do a model for the NPC RC and I colored it with the Vertex Paint modifier... so here's the problem ... as soon as I convert it into 3DS format so I can convert it to .P with Pcreator it loses the vertex painting I made... so is the 3DS format compatible with vertex color?? ... if yes how can I get it to work with the 3DS format... if not how can I color it so the 3DS format keeps my colors.... But as far as I can recall... the 3DS farmat supported the vertex color...

Well thanks in advance.

Libraries:
Libraries are code that many program shares.  For exemple you if you have some programes that shares some parts of the code code you can make a file that will have this code part and the programes just call to the libraries for this part of the code... Basicaly it help making the code of a program a little less messy.

Ficedula.dll    [Finished I think]
Many ficedula's programes will need this library

Well that's all for now I will continue later.

Since then give me your suggestion of project I should add and the info you can find about them (not just the patches but also programs)

Archive / SFFS for ficedula'S FF7 Music
« on: 2006-08-09 14:33:40 »
Hi ppl

Since my midi realtime project: "Stormmedia Final Fantasy Sound (SFFS)" seems to eat too much CPU ... and ram well I decided to make some mp3 from the mid files I modified and make the loops as good as I can so you can use it with ficedula's FF7 Music ... so no longer problem of performance  :-)

Well I'm doing the mp3 in my free times but since all the mid files are modified and I just have to make the mp3 it won't be too long ... I will post my progress as I do it

Well see you all

Archive / Convert SGT to MIDI
« on: 2006-06-13 16:28:50 »
Does anybody know a way to convert perfectly SGT to MIDI.. I mean without any change of the rythm or tonnality or preset.  It dosn't seem to have any option in Direct Music producer that is good.  I'd need to do it to modify efficialy the music files of ff8 so they sound better with my SFFS project.

Archive / CPU load
« on: 2006-06-01 19:20:53 »
I noticed that ff7 is using 70% or so of my cpu even if I have a 3ghz.  This game load the CPU a lot.  I think this is because that the game has a loop for the keypress,  I mean that it's looping until u press a key and when you press the key it's doing the action.  This kind of programation was in the time of the Microsft Dos I think and the problem with this is that more your CPU is fast more this loop is fast so the CPU is always loaded even if you have a pretty fast computer.  Would it be a way to kill this loop so it's doing nothing until you press a key it would help me a little with my soundfont project and... well it's not normal that a old game as ff7 take more CPU than Heroes of Might an Magic V...

Archive / 3ds to .p conversion
« on: 2006-05-14 16:37:27 »
Hi there!

I was wondering if it was possible to make a program that will convert 3ds max files to make them work in ff7 game.  We could make the NPC PC project even better with this.

Look here the kind of head we could get:

I made this some times ago.  It's not finished yet though but if we could get this ingame it would be great isn't it ??

So what do you think ???

Well see you.

Archive / Stormmedia Fluid Fantasy Sound (SFFS)
« on: 2006-05-11 19:38:19 »
Stormmedia Fluid Fantasy Sound(SFFS) Closed Beta V0.1
-----------------------------------------------------

What is it
-------------
It's a project that I started because I found the midi quite anoying and creepy in a game... so I started a project that will improve a lot the midi instruments and I modified the midi files so it fits the best possible to my instruments.  This project is optimized for FF7/8 but can also be used with any programs.

Note that Since this is a Closed version I will only give the Link to some people so if you are interested in testing it Post here or P.M. me and I will P.M. you the link.

How to install it
-----------------

1-Install the MidiYokeSetup.msi (it's a kind of bridge between the game and the synth).

2-Copy the Synth folder wherever you want it doesn't matter where.

3- For Final Fantasy VII
-You have to make an LGP with the "FF7 mid" folder.
-You have to replace the "...\Final Fantasy VII\data\midi\midi.lgp" by the LGP you just made.
-Open the ff7config and in the midi tab select "MIDI Yoke NT: 1" for the MIDI Driver and "General MIDI" as the MIDI Data.

   For Final Fantasy VIII
-Copy all the files in the "FF8 SGT" to the "...\FINAL FANTASY VIII\Data\Music\dmusic" folder and overwrite the existing files
-You have to use the Ficedula's FF8 configurator Version 2.2 if you don't already have it you can download it right here:
          http://aaronserv.dyndns.org/hosting/ffsf/download_8.html
-Start the Ficedula's FF8 configurator Version 2.2 and select "MIDI YokeNT: 1" as the music device.

5-start the "SFFS.bat" in the "Synth" folder and start the game.

Note that Fluidsynth have many bugs that I fixed ... but there is some that I'm still have to fix... mostly the fact that it have some
compatibility issues with some newer drivers of some sound card... so if you have problem try to use an older driver of you sound card.
Exept the fact that if you have a newer driver most of the bugs you will experience will be CPU related ... I have still many instruments
that eat a lot of CPU usage though I already fixed some of them it still takes a good CPU to run it.

Here some samples:
---------------------------
Final Fantasy VII:
Hurry2
Battle Theme
Aeris Theme
One Winged Angel
Bombing Mission

Final Fantasy VIII:
The Man with a Machine gun
Don't be Afraid
Legendary Beast
Landing
Waltz for the Moon

Archive / FF Sound Project
« on: 2006-05-01 06:26:52 »
Hi ppl

some time ago I've started a project that make the midi music realy but realy realy better.  In fact it's a BIG soundfont that include all the instrument needed for ff7 and ff8 ... to load this soundfont you need to have a softsyth that suport soundfont because because I think it's too big to be loaded on any sound cards .... well all I wanted to do by posting this if to know how many ppl would be interested on this ... if it worth it I will upload this soundfont somewhere and share it to you .. I will give you the URL of a good freeware that can load the soundfont and I will give you all the information you need to set this up .... keep in mind that you will need a realy good machine to make this working fine without any bug in the music and that it's 282 mo or so ... but the final result is realy good so I think it worth it...

well that's it .. if your interested post my your impression and I'll see if it worth that I find somewhere to upload it

see you
