Completely Unrelated / FFX on Pcsx2

Hey guys, in need of a bit of help if possible.
A while back, my PS2 died, so I had a useless copy of FFX lying about, I eventually bought a PS3 but as luck would have it (mines being bad), I got the non-backwards compatible model.  And seeing as FFX is my favourite in the entire series, I really wanted to play it again.  So I looked for emulators, and sure enough, there is a ps2 one, and my ps2 had enough life in it to dump the BIOS.  SO, I got it all working.

Problem is (and it is a small problem, but still), that during the in engine cut-scenes, there tends to be a permanent blue hazyness to the screen.  Has anyone else tried using Pcsx2, and if so, FFX and got it working properly?

I completed the game, and went back to get all the side quests, Celestials etc.... And the blueness is begining to really annoy me.  Any suggestions, or am I forking out for yet another PS2?

Btw, I can run the game at a smooth 50-60fps, with 8xAA switched on, so it's not that my machine can't handle the emulator.

Completely Unrelated / No VGA Input?!?

Hey guys, hoping someone will be able to reply to this pretty quickly.
I recently got Metal Gear Solid 2, for the PC, and installed it on my laptop, alas, it didn't run very well (it doesn't agree with Intel chipsets apparantly), so I decided to try it on my somewhat neglected Desktop.

I used to use it all the time, when I got the laptop, it became less useful to me, but the last time I used it (approx 2 months ago) it worked just fine.  But when I switch it on now, I get a mesage on my monitor saying No VGA Input, and my monitor goes to sleep.  My PC is working, but there's no display.

Any suggestions?

I've got two GPU's I tried, a Geforce 6600TC, and a Geforce 8600, neither will get me a display, and I don't even have an onboard Graphics card to get into the BIOS.

My PC is:
Intel Pentium 4 2.9Ghz
1gb ddr2 RAM
Nvidia Geforce 6600TC/Geforce 8800
HP vs17 Monitor

Please help guys, I don't want to even think about buying another graphics card or PC (I'm a student, therefor cash is a bitty of a problem).

Archive / Ripping models etc.

Hey guys, I am pretty sure this will have been asked, but I'm on a college computer right now and most links don't work, including search.
I just want to ask which programs I would use to rip models from Kingdom Hearts etc. And what I would do to get them in game, perhaps a tutorial if there are any existing ones?

I don't want to put anyone to trouble, so if there are none fair enough.

I tried building them from scratch before but I failed miserably so I'm hoping ripping models directly would require nothing more than a few adjustments in the texturing and such.

Thanks in advance to any help.

Edit: I just thought, if there's already an open thread on this subject, could someone just refer me to it, then Snyergy Blades could close this thread if it's useless.

General Discussion / Strangeness with npc-rp

Hey guys, wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and sorted it, cos I'm puzzled beyond belief.
I've used npc-rp numerous times, and all is good, yet I scrubbed my laptop last night, and obviously, the first thing I done after getting everything updated again, was install FF7, YAMP, 1.02, High res, just as I usually do, but this time, when I unpack the files with LGPTools, and extract them into the char folder, I go to run the setup for npc-rp, and i direct it to the files yet it always says no files to be modified! 
I even tried reverting back to Reunion's patch, thinking it would be good enough, but that installs yet no changes are made.

Any help would be appreciated, as I've now grown accustomed to playing with battle models in the field.

Completely Unrelated / Diablo 2

Hey guys, I know this is an FF forum and all, but I was just wondering, has anyone else had any problems running Diablo 2 on Vista?
If so how (if you did) did you solve the problem?

I keep getting a message saying please make sure the play disc is inserted and click retry.

I DO have the play disc installed, but still the same message.
I have tried compatibility mode, and disabled desktop composition, but still nothing....

ANy help would be grwatly appreciated.

I wonder what the 'adequate' level of fun is to be had on these forums?
I started a poll on who would back down between El Ammo and Xelane, just for abit of fun in Completely Unrelated, where it belongs, and Synergy Blades shut it down.  No disrespect btw, just out of curiosity, since you said it was a pointless thread, what wouldn't be pointless, seeing as I put it in a forum about pointless things?

This is just out of personal curiosity after seeing these two guys go at it for some time now, and I'm just wanting to get other forum members opinions on who, if either of them, will back down first.

EDIT: I think I'll leave this running a couple of days, and if no one really picks up on it, I'll just close it.

Does this amuse anyone else?
You know the situation, one person makes a comment, someone doesn't agree, then all hell breaks loose and new threads are started, back and forward bickering like an online married couple.
I like it when these things happen, as the person who started the argument, and the person arguing back, IMO are absoloute legends, they keep me reading these forums when things are slow, and even if it's busy, it gives me a laugh.
See the El Ammo and Xelane threads for a perfect example

Keep at it guys, I'm sure I'm not the only one following the online soap opera we got going on here.

General Discussion / Favourite FF game in the series?

Hey all, I'm sure this will have been done elsewhere on the forum, but wanted to ask anyway.  What is everyones favourite Final Fantasy game in the series so far?
It can be for any reason, whether it's the games story, gameplay had you hooked, awesome soundtrack, or even if you just liked the FMV's.

My personal favourite is FFX, because in my oppinion, it had a great lead character, who I hated at first, but as the game went on, I started to like him as he opened up more, and became more and more likeable.  As well as that, the story was incredible, surpassing imo the love between Squall and Rinoa.  And the soundtrack, with pieces like At Zanarkand, Someday the dream will end, and The ending theme, I think Uematsu outdone himself.

The sphere grid also.....

Anyway, other peoples favourites?

ps.  I don't expect this much explanation from other people as to why their chosen game is their fave, I just am use to defending FFX being my favourite, as many Squeenix rookies will just automatically say FFVII, cos it's "cool"

Ok, first off, just a few questions.
1.  When in the entire film, does anyone refer to the city around Midgar, as Edge?
2.  Why has Cloud put the Buster Sword in the place he has? (Something to do with Zack, don't know what)
3.  Where did Denzel come from so randomly?
4.  Why is Cait Sith in it?  No one likes him

Hey guys, I've recently aqquired/purchased/downloaded all the things I need to start creating models for FFVII, and I was just wondering, since I'm a total newbie at this, no prior experience, at all, what the easiest main character in FFVII is to model?  It's just so I can get the hang of it, and get the basics down and stuff like that.

I assume Cloud would be easiest, what with all the different models I've seen on here, but thought it better to ask first, before I dive head in, and find out he's the most complicated.

Any help appreciated

General Discussion / The Life Stream

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that in FFVII when you're in the lifestream (Tifa, and Cloud) It's a little bit too drawn out?  I mean, I know it's to show Cloed 'discovering himself' and all, but it just seems to me, that they could have missed a whole lot out.  The reason I ask is because I have completed the game numerous times, and was going throught that bit earlier today, and thought, good god, I've done this so many times, skipping the text I've read so many times before, and thought, half of this information is useless....
Ignore me if you think I'm needlesy rambling, just a little pet peeve I've came across as I play the game is all.  Still a classic, and something I'm willing to go through time and again, so I can complete this and beat the hell out of Sephy...it makes me feel awesome

Hi guys, second request for help I'm making alerady
In FFVII is there any mods/tweaks that would allow me to run the game properly on my Vista laptop?
It's not a serious issue if there's not, but it crashes once every few hours.  As I said, not much of a problem, I just save at every available point.
But any help would be appreciated
