I put up a new theme for people to look at. You can change it in your profile. Let me know if this is something we could build upon.

Nothing against the moderators, but seriously I have some questions:

Why/how is it that mod is gone, yet he *still* has these forums by the balls and under his control?

Why do you allow it?

How long are you going to do this monkey dance for mod's entertainment for?

Why is it so hard to do this?:
mod: Hey, I want you to remove my existence from your forums.
Moderators: No.

Anybody must reasonably expect that when you join a PUBLIC forum that anything you say here then becomes PUBLIC and you do not have a right to demand everything be taken down.

This is setting multiple dangerous precedents. Now, if Joe Schmo requests you remove all of his stuff, you'll jump on that right away and waste your time too, right? Right?

Because
A) I am not an asshole. Its his mod to do as he wishes with. You can still find it on the internet if you want it
B) There are other potential issues if we didnt.

Question whatever you wish. I wont begrudge you that. But this isnt a democracy. If i dont feel something is the best for this forum (with consensus with other forum staff) then it wont be done. Simple as that. Complain about that as much as you want. It isnt going to change.

What does everyone think about this one?

I like it. Especially if we can modify some of the graphics

Just to add on this. I am not trying to erase the existence of his great software. He has done some amazing work. I was willing to leave a redirect to any website or forum he wished. He specifically requested to delete everything.

You can talk about whatever you wish. But if you type it out as what is is called it will be changed by the software. Simple as that. I am not going to prevent your right to talk about it but I am also going to allow his request.

You dont know the half of it. Someone who I will not name asked that every trace of him be removed from this forum. If you dont agree with his request then take it up with him. Major threads have already been removed and other posts are being pruned as needed. In the meantime everything has been anonymized as requested. Just because he has been removed doesnt mean we are total assholes. As for our decisions if you do not like them you know where the door is.

I have been in contact with qhimm. Server access should be coming soon

35
Everyone let it go. This is getting stupid. You all dont like each other and thats fine. None of that is relevant to this thread. DLPB is free to write his mod in whatever way he sees fit. You are also free to disagree and write your own stuff that doesnt work with his. I suggest you go do that.

36
Well that is good to know. I didnt expect a 30s conversion. That really puts the on the fly conversion idea to rest.

37
Thats not what i meany. More like what aalis cache does. If it sees a png it converts it to dds and saves in a cache. Would be slow the first loads but after that would be fast

38
Any thoughts on doing an initial internal conversion? That way people can use whichever they want and get benefits both ways.

39
I can see there being advantages and disadvantages to both really. If using lossless formats such as PNG (or flac for music) cause slowdowns or other issues then lossy formats are usually 'good enough' (especially if they are vastly more performant.) Most people when actually playing a game arent going to notice some slight degredation.... But i have to admit the archivist in me prefers lossless formats.

In all fairness nobody uses these operating systems anymore

41
So, I take it that you're going to provide a 100% support if I would buy the game myself? And will personally refund my money (on my card obviously, not on a Steam wallet) if some of the mods won't be working hence making the purchase useless for me?
Cause, you see, I wanted to check if it'll work first, but I guess some genius decided to install a "protection" against a pyrated copy of a game that is like, wow, 22 years old.

Its obvious you didnt read the rules. We do not condone piracy. For any reason.

42
This is against the rules. You cannot put stuff ripped from other games .

43
Enough with this in here. If you want to battle take it to the discord or PM. This isnt the place.

44
PM me if you are looking for a seperate subfoum. Ill be glad to set one up

700 or so

Everyone here can attest to my level-headiness and clear civility in the face of difficult social interactions.

Why, Covarr, sl1982, and Obesebear are sure to back me up when I say I believe I am your man!

I wouldnt choose anyone else for this roll personally.

47
Really? So let us take this gem:

Suppose I had responded: "I imagine the sense of humor varies. Personally I find it hilarious that a eunuch frog in a cape, that does not even rise to the indignity of being a basement wanker, is triggered by watching others getting triggered." The problem would be the tone or the content?

Look, I have no problems with insults flying and exploding everywhere. I have been in forums where it is a real jungle, and I dished it as much as I took. I am a big boy, so it is no skin off my back. At the same time -- and this is a purely personal reflection -- I am trying to tone down my natural aggressiveness to better reflect what I actually believe in, but let's not paper over it calling it "the way you said" when of course there were real insults.

Did you not read what I said? Its called a warning. Its like you didnt even read the post i sent him before. But feel free to criticise my moderation. I have thicker skin than you do and can guarantee I will be around longer.

48
Its not what you say its how you say it. But fine. I will keep that in mind next time i was considering a warning

49
-Ric- Your inflammatory responses to other peoples posts are bordering on a warning. Check yourself before I have to.
