And contributing with your first post?  Impressive.

I have to say, I think that might be a first. Way back when I started I only told people I'd make WallMarket. If I had waited until I was finished to announce it then it might not be the awesomeness it is today. ;) But still, this is a nice touch. I'm happy.

I love it! I'm not much of a big fan for AC stuff but the blue limit is pretty.  ;D

very interesting I hope when Team Ava. is done with normal skins and mods they we can get some AC stuff in the game as well just so the game can have more than one look.
Title: Re: ff7 blue limit for ac mod
Post by: sl1982 on 2010-03-19 04:56:08
Team Avalanche will not be doing any AC mods. We are trying to improve the look while keeping the feel of the original. But there is no reason why others cannot make a AC mod.

Of course that's not to say that nobody's allowed to organize an all-encompassing AC mod. I'd quite frankly be very impressed if somebody were to put the work into making an authentic looking "Omnislash ver.5" limit break for Cloud. It could either replace Omnislash (which is now easy thanks to Bosola's LiBrE) or be a second lv4 limit break. The trickiest part would be modeling the First Tsurugi in way that would make it able to split apart into all 6 different swords.

The most time consuming part would be making the .a file for the attack.

Well, technically, if someone were to do its, I would honestly allow cut-corners. Such as not really making the sword break apart (as seen in Dissidia). Because that would be rather hard, seeing as the sword would be a weapon model and not change as the animation chooses, but as the texture and mesh choose for the weapon model. So really, I wouldn't mind if it were just cloud moving really fast in 6(?) burst movements slashing the enemy. Or like 13 if your going AC Complete

I finally saw Advent Children: Complete last night...  Now I have to go find it on Blu Ray.  I preordered the original on DVD about a year and a half before release, and I adored that movie.  Advent Children Complete blows it out of the water by MILES

i dont think much has been done to experiment with fully custom animations, but how would it work in game space, for example, to animate cloud flying through the enemy, you would animate that in kimera, but in the game, where is the point of origin in regards to the target, and is this constant for all enemies?

Fill me in on the details of how custom animations work and i could start storyboarding it out (i'd be most interested in animatin teh custom limit brake)

EDIT: srry, in kimera, do you animate wiht the bones themselves, or the objects? also, is there IK support? :P

I would honestly have to say if you were going to custom animate a Omni. Ver 5 then I would probably have to be a single target... It would just be easier that way. Or, Idk if it would be easier, but you could technically just say that it hits everyone in one slash, and he just kinda flies through the middle of the stage a few times :\? Idk, just some thoughts.

Well, from the look of it, it kinda looks more solid than the other one did. The other one kinda had spots where the texture seemed to be more transparent for no reason near the bottom...

You are of course talking about the texture folder in the FF VII program folder, correct?

You will only have files in you texture folder if you use the avalanche overhaul. I know of no other mod that uses the same method.

The only help I can offer is after UNLGPing the magic.lgp look in its main folder and you will see "brizar" and "brizara" textures (there are 8 of them).

If those aren't them, from the folder you're in click open FF7/Data/Battle/Magic/   Once in here you will see two folders called "brizag" and "brizag2".  The textures are bound to be in there.

I've tried everything that I can think of but this isn't working... It just shows up white. Any ideas?

Edit:
N/M I figured it out. Just in case anyone else runs into the same problem; if you have the WMRP installed do not use the .tex file! It took me a while to figure it out because without the .tex file the animation was being read from the cache.

If you do both steps one and two, the animation will be white. Just do steps 1 and 3.

if you look at the RSD for it you will see

The files for Ice1 are
brizad.p
brizad.rsd
and thats it, i dont know if you can insert a TEX into it or anything like that.

It's most definitely possible.
Export the .p file to .3DS using Biturn. Open it up and its UV map should be ready to go.  Then all you have to do is open the .rsd and make it say

NTEX=1
TEX[0]=BRIZAD.TIM

Use Image2Tex to create your .tex file.   Name it Brizad.   And you're done :)

That sounded easy but when i tried it i couldnt get it working, (but i am new to modeling so its highly possible i did somthing wrong)
I exported the .p to .3ds format with bitrun (old version) then opened it in PCreator and imported the BMP and fliped the Y on the UV map. then saved the .p file and edited the RSD file as you said, put it back into the game and then all that happens in game is i get the vertex error, then i hex edited the .p file as said in the other threads and got it working and then the ingame model is just huge and without colour.
(sorry if that doesnt make sense)

That sounded easy but when i tried it i couldnt get it working, (but i am new to modeling so its highly possible i did somthing wrong)
I exported the .p to .3ds format with bitrun (old version) then opened it in PCreator and imported the BMP and fliped the Y on the UV map. then saved the .p file and edited the RSD file as you said, put it back into the game and then all that happens in game is i get the vertex error, then i hex edited the .p file as said in the other threads and got it working and then the ingame model is just huge and without colour.
(sorry if that doesnt make sense)
After you export it to a .3ds file, you want to open that in Blender (or whatever 3d modeling program you use).  From there you will likely need to weld the vertexes together because Biturn usually exports models with cracks in them.

Next open the object's UV map and apply whatever .bmp file you plan on using.  From there just move the faces around until it looks like you want it to.

Save and export it as a .3ds file again and open that in PCreator. Choose Battle Model, Texture files, Open bitmap, and also make sure to flip it on the Y axis just like you did the first time. Save.
When you save it won't have .p on the end of it so go ahead and add it yourself.

Change the RSD to say
NTEX=1
TEX[0]=Brizad.tim

Now using Image2Tex open up the bitmap you want to use and save it as a .tex file. (make sure when saving you erase the entire filename and type in brizad.tex yourself.  Sometimes the program likes to save them as .bmp accidentally or won't overwrite.  So this is just precautionary.
Now then put all of your files where they belong and recompile magic.lgp using LGP/UnLGP by Aali.

The only way to make sure your file is the correct size is to test it in the game.  If it's not right, open it in Kimera and resize it.  Recompile..test...kimera...recompile...test...kimera...etc etc until it's like you want it.  Then hex edit it.

Finally, post pictures on qhimm

You really need to learn to figure things out for yourself... Try READING this thread  ;) I'll give you a clue, it's on page 2.

excuse me, how to use this mod? ;D
thanks ;D ;D

install avalanche patch
put the .tex in your magic.lgp
and the png in your ff7 folder,textures folder and limit folder

If you do both steps one and two, the animation will be white. Just do steps 1 and 3.

hmm..i still get normal limit...and you r right, i use highwind to put the .tex file inside it became white... ;D
i already replace the png file...but still not work ???

The png needs to be put in both the textures folder and textures/magic.

Hey maybe you don't have the avalanche patch installed. Maybe that's your problem because it worked on mine just by following the steps given by our fellow forum friends. :)

NTEX=1
TEX[0]=BRIZAD.TIM

Use Image2Tex to create your .tex file.   Name it Brizad.   And you're done :)

thanks for your advices obesebear.i will try it

Okay so I downloaded Final Fantasy VII Remix Patcher, patched the game, downloaded this, put the PNG in the textures folder, and it doesn't work. Does this mean I don't have the avalanche patch? Should I put the .tex in the magic.lgp?

Is the Advent Children Cloud mod required for this to work?

Oh, by the way, I don't have a magic folder.

Ah ha! Got it to work. I don't know what magic folder you are talking about, but I had to put it in Final Fantasy VII\textures and Final Fantasy VII\textures\Limit

I think I'm gonna use the orange one, the blue one doesn't go with my Cloud model.

Thanks dude!  :). Now im going to try it.

Edit: I tried putting the png file in limit and spell folders inside the texture folder since I dont have the magic folder I assumed that its name is changed to spell folder. And when I tried my limit break, it came out white and said an error like broken lpg.

you have to use lgp unlgp and not lgptools  for the tex file. for the png you put the file in your texture folder ,limit folder and the second limit folder.Or use aali's driver and create a modpath.

hey i'm new to the forums & modding i just got the Limit_'s Flash V4 by kela51 but can't get it to work. there is no detailed info on getting it too work when i search. i was wondering if anyone can help me to get it to work i got lgp/unlgp program but got no clue how to convert the file jo_b03.tex file so it will be working in the game can anyone give me detailed info on how to do this would be very grateful.

Extract magic.lgp to a single folder. Replace jo_b03.tex in that folder. Open CMD and type <Link of the folder (no spaces)> lgp magic.lgp and it should work.

seems to be a bunch of different methods of installation posted by you all but none of them seem to be working for me. The game just crashes when a limit starts. This request is posted to the original maker of the limits, can you please post clear cut instructions of how to install this. Thank you. Also great work man!

*edit*okay seems my limit is broken entirely. I uninstalled this and the game still crashes right before a limit break. I dunno how this happened. there was no problem like this before??? I'm confused.

*edit 2* okay seems the crash only happens with certain limits like braver for example. Also I was able to get this working, I found its much easier to place the .tex file into direct/magic and turn on direct mode rather than packing the .lgp. Won't work by just replacing the png it seems (unless I put in the wrong place textures/limit/limit/)

*edit 3*
haha sorry for the multi edits turns out I was having a problem with texture compression turning it off fixed my limits. Would still like to know how to install without the need for direct mode/.lgp repack. Looking really good. I personally like V3 the best. Thanks

Hi guys! I've a question i'm working on magic's effects and models, the 80% of these are made by me with my hands but somes of textures and models are made by others into web so it's possible to make a release here or not.

Exemple with this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vHJ-VqOcJJE
The planets are textures from the web..
