Hello !

I don't have much time right now to make the layers...

I'm trying especially for the moment to rework some screens that would not be perfect. I would like to modifiy some backgrounds made by jmp, but I have no news of him.

However, the new versions of the sbwy series and Kalm inn are ready, I'll publish them soon.

For the new one, you will have to wait a little  :P

Definitely yes, making this backgrounds from scratch is a time consuming job and I don't have too much time to port them to the game. Thanks for the help

Hello,

As I promised, the links for several new or modified maps :

"sbwy" series, new version :
sbwy4_1
sbwy4_2
sbwy4_3
sbwy4_22

(No change for this one, but a better layering)

I modified some screens made by jmp (better light, more textures and details) :
mds7_w3
ujun_w

And some new backgrounds :
elmtow
elminn_1
elminn_2

(I changed the picture on the wall for a artwork of FF3)

(The original screens have a "warmer" light so I modified it)

To be continued...

Thank you too !

For the zz2 map, can you post a version with the box in the bottom corner open ? I need it for a layer.

jusete I have a question, your job is awsome! but why did you not start with the first scene of the game, the train, the two first reactor and so on? ^^ (sorry for my bad english im french canadian^^)

ff7Maniac => Parce que c'est plus encourageant de commencer par des écrans "faciles" à modéliser. Les premiers écrans (réacteur, gare, train etc) sont des écrans assez complexes.

Jusete => I get this layer when I export with Palmer, so I guess I need a screen with the box open :

Don't you use Palmer ? I think you should to see how layers are cut and to see what I really need ;-)

To be honest with my previous experience dojng this stuff is you should have the files and render your own outputs if possible. Palmer shows ypu what you need for the output and then you can adjust stuff as needed for the renders. I am not sure how you guys are working your workflow. If you just get a final render it may be hard to do

I'm using makou to see the layers, it's easier turn of and on the layer and save what you need than with Palmer. But for some reason, this layer is not showing in makou

The textures are great and I really like all of the little easter eggs you've added in.

jusete, you have really come a long way and we are all rooting for  you.

My thanks to Shampignon too and everyone else who is going to lend you a hand on this!

I am still hoping for jmp434 to join efforts with you. That'd make for an incredible duo at work together.

I agree with everybody, that's an excellent work. Hopefully somebody can support and create a team!

A bit out of topic but I'm curious: is there any chance to implement a way to zoom in game and to turn camera around?
I know it's a bit of a big dream, just asking for my own curiosity!

Not with pre-rendered backgrounds there isn't. The game would pretty much need redone in a new engine for this to be possible.
