[Fixed]Custom ff7_opengl-0.7b driver Issue
« on: 2009-07-27 00:50:27 »
OK I'm updating from ff7_opengl-0.6.10b to ff7_opengl-0.7b driver and the 0.7 ff7_opengl.cfg is not working. Any options i set nothing changes. i set showfps = yes and nothing. use_shaders = yes nothing changes. the ff7_opengl.fgd is 298kb compared to 0.6.10b's ff7_opengl.fgd 3.30mb. It works fine when i revert back to 0.6.10b  Anyone having problems with the update? Am i a complete idiot and forgetting something? lol

What is the correct way of installing ff7_opengl-0.7b driver on top of ff7_opengl-0.6.10b? i can't get 0.7 to work correctly. it must not be loading right

well my cfg has no effect anything i change in it nothing happens. all i did was copy and paste the new cfg so i'm puzzled. the game runs but as far as changing options in the new cfg nothing happens so the driver must not be loading. i checked the reg and everything seems to be good     driver = 3  driverpath = ff7_opengl.fgd mode= 2 options = 0

The required files from that package are already included (msvcr90.dll and its manifest)

If it doesn't work that's probably because of a certain "smart" feature trying to "protect" you from foreign dlls in certain folders.

Do I really need to do a Fresh install just to make this work?... I mean man...Talk about bummer :-P :|
Will it work in Windows XP Pro SP2 though? Or what other MODS will be affected?...

Edit:

I just Installed it recently and found some errors:

1. Movies or fmv's wont work...( e.g. Gold Saucer Transport train )..Didn't check if it affects other movies.
2. If your resoution is 800x600 it moves slower..tried adjustin..It goes much faster..Twice the normal at that..
3. It affects some textures..( isolated?...maybe )

What improves...

1. The return of the Battle Swirl!!!..Nice!!! in 0.6.10b the Battle Swirl was replaced by a blackout impromptu....
2. It gives a nice 3d-ish feel and look on the game..Refreshing!

Well thats about all the perks I notice..But since I can't live without FMV's ( it adds to the drama..really!)..I must succumb to the blackout premise and be awed at HD movies that where provided by Grimmy and Otokoshi's..ahhh...  Bliss!!!

Hope you can improve this for those people who can't use Saints Hi Res MOD..It really is..GOD SEND!
I really want to see this game be better than its OTHER counterparts!!

I don't get it! My FMV's play just normal here. I mean, even in better quality than before.
Are you using the latest version? Because  0.6.10b  is a lil old right now.

If all of that is changing because of different versions, you most definitely need to update your graphics driver.

Aali's driver works almost independently of all other mods besides the 1.02 patch.  So it's not a fault of the driver, it's something with your computer.

Yosh!!...I got it to work!....who would have thought you have to install that 2008 Visual C++ redistributable? huh?...Thanks a lot man!!...But somehow the New Font MOD doesnt seem to work..Another mess up I guess...( did everything ) Scratch that !!..its workin nicely now!!

I noticed that sometimes FFVII Music would stutter at some point in the game..is this because its using a plugin for it to work? Sometimes I notice a delay mid song same with a stutter...IDK whats goin on? everything seems to be in place... Hope you can guide this weary gamer...
