Bootloader Issue
« on: 2014-02-15 01:20:23 »
This is quite a big issue. I've tried to install some mods from Tifa's Bootleg, and this is my... I believe 4th attempt. I finally got it working this time, but whenever I hit "New Game", the game crashes with this error message:

"Oops! Something very bad happened.
Wrote crash.dmp to FF7 install dir
Please provide a copy of it along with APP.LOG when reporting this error
Write emergency save to save/crash.ff7?"

I might as well do what it says. Although looking at it, that is quite a big dump file... Well, the APP.LOG oughta be enough, right?

App.log:

I think I see the problem, it has to do with the flevel. I just don't know how to fix. Any help is appreciated. =)

If you have used my Game Converter an original English flevel.lgp is in the folder "BackupGC\data\field".
You can copy it to "data\field", but you lose all the modifications to the flevel.lgp.

In addition, you have FF7 in a system folder, modifications are there problematic.
At best, you delete everything and start again from scratch, this time please use the Game Converter 0.10b.

The written guide has been updated with GC 0.10b already, so it must not have been used. Please use it as it will prevent any user errors we commonly see.

In this case, your game is in a system folder for which Windows will prevent certain mod installations and cause the file errors seen.

Well it seems to be any folder I put my game in is a system folder, even the Desktop! Is there a folder that isn't a system folder?

Edit: Additionally, when I try to install the DLBP HQ FMV's, during the Bootleg install process, it says all of the FMV's can't be copied because the source file is corrupted. Is this a system folder thing, or did I do something wrong?
