Sounds like you might not be using the right executable. There is a few different ones that are only compatible with certain mods. Make sure your using the right one and its written in the options.

Can't get FF7 audio working through 7th Heaven. I have tried multiple installs and things. Would anyone mind hopping in Discord or something to help me out? I mostly want to check out the rest of the mods, but I also can't seem to use the keyboard once I'm at the new game/continue screen. I have to have the audio though. If I install Reunion, everything works perfectly. Guessing I just have some incompatibility somewhere or something.

I had tried to open the config to make sure I had my audio driver selected and not the device.

I can open it through Steam without mods and such still, but daaaaayummmn.

in your ff7 directory there is a config file. open that file and scroll to near the bottom and find directmode= off and make it say directmode= on


Also if you are in doubt about your installation you can follow my tutorial video instead of the official one. Mine comes with a readme and is also voice which many find to be easier to follow than just reading. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cf7uQt2uaQc&t=57s

I followed all your instructions and my situation improved, but I couldn't get into the game because of lack of keyboard functionality. Also got no audio with or without music mod activated. Checked ff7 config setup thing but it reverted a bunch of the changes it looks like. Whoops. I get a beep when starting the game both with or without that though and still no keyboard functionality.

On this last attempt, I was able to open it in full-screen 1080p and it looks good. But I don't have audio nor keyboard control still. I also got the beep before the black screen pre-intro movies.

edit: attempting to open the ff7config file screwed me up it seems. now I have no mods loaded, etc.

I got to where it loaded a 640x480 black full screen. hitting escape like movies were playing got me to select new game or continue. Didn't seem to have control with keyboard. Got to the quit menu but couldn't select any option before I had significant graphics issues. Alt+f4 is the only control I seem to have in the screen. Changing settings to uncheck full screen and putting in window size didn't help either. Unsure where the problem is in config or in the 7th heaven opengl config. Not sure what to do.

Desperately want to play this WITH the mods on.

edit:

This time, I am going to save all these iros and hopefully just import them instead of having to download again. I am going to try for like the 5th time to do this.

It feels like ff7config is overwriting the opengl config in 7th heaven. I am so frustrated.

I have a video card now and that was the only issue I could think of before.

Are the full instructions to just install Aali's driver and then run your installer? Do I run the ff7 converter before that? Does it matter which exe I run?

It disables achievements or no?

I had 60fps battles running before with this and can't recall how I did it alongside adding high quality oggs and fmvs. Seemed pretty perfect but no idea how I tweaked it as such. 7th Heaven wasn't working so was doing my best without. Then got 7th H working but then the mods didn't work for me. Now got Reunion running with at least Beacause and the models/oggs/fmvs... 60fps battles doesn't seem functional.

I was able to get it running again, but my keyboard is nonfunctional and I keep getting some kind of audio error when starting the game with the "launch game" option. Using integrated graphics, which seems like it could be a problem but shouldn't be.

I really want mods that improve audio, movie and graphics quality (outside of textures because integrated graphics intel 630), but I am having trouble playing the game now with 7th heaven installed minus texture packs.

Yea, would love that too. He says it will be added back into Reunion but who knows when that is. I just want to get FFVII installed and working for the next year or so haha

It is really hard to determine which mods are updated, which are the best and whatnot without 7th Heaven. I was able to use it until I crashed while downloading mods and now it absolutely will not even open again.

Installing The Reunion has led to the loss of music in my installation though I didn't include your audio, which I couldn't find outside of 7th Heaven (can't get it working). Just fresh installed after deleting all the 7th Heaven things after I gave up.

I don't know how I had Reunion working yesterday before trying 7th Heaven agin, but it isn't running now. Sad face.
