After the Eidos logo, I get an error that says: Oops! Something very bad happened. Wrote crash.dmp to FF7 install dir. Please provide a copy of it along with APP.LOG when reporting this error. Write emergency save to save/crash.ff7?"  Here is my APP.LOG, nothing seems out of place....? I don't know exactly how to also provide my crash.dmp, as it's an unopenable file for me. Also I saw somebody else mentioned it in another post, my FFVII configuration file lists my CPU type as "3403 MHz Unknown Processor" and "2048 MB" RAM when I have more than that.

You need to either use a lower version of ,7h or have a save file in all 10 slots.

And now my game just crashes on startup :P
I made a save in all 10 slots. Attempting to start up 7H 1.54 just crashes on startup for me with this error:

Are you sure you're using v1.54 with the Oops! crash? That crash after Eidos is very common with people using v1.55 with empty save slots. I have tried loading the game with your Profile, but I cannot reproduce a crash. I'm not sure what's causing it.

I do have two things to point out though. Not saying these are what cause your current crash issues, but if that were to get fixed then you would run into new issues with these.

1) Your APP.log has this line: [00000000] INFO: FF7Music helper plugin loaded

You need to go into Workshop -> OpenGL -> Audio and change to the VGMStream option for music to work with Aali Drive 0.8.1b. Any reason for choosing FF7Music?

2) Your Field Model - Main Characters is loading models_redxiii = 15, which is the Red Werewolf + Reunion + Hardcore option. That's going to produce funky gameplay and/or possible crashes because you don't have either Beacause or Hardcore enabled from the mod categories The Reunion - Beacause and Menu Overhaul / Gameplay - Difficulty and Story.

Hi everyone, I'm having the same issue, also with 1.54, it doesn't matter if I choose FF7Music or VGMStream,
right after the SquareEnix logo with all the chocobos, the prelude song starts playing and credits begin appearing on screen, but no inputs (tried keyboard, mouse and joystick takes me to the main menu), after a few seconds, the same crash message appears.

I tried removing mods from the active list, reinstalling, hitting my head against a wall, nothing has worked. Also my save file is full.

¿Can anyone help me?

Are you sure you're using v1.54 with the Oops! crash? That crash after Eidos is very common with people using v1.55 with empty save slots. I have tried loading the game with your Profile, but I cannot reproduce a crash. I'm not sure what's causing it.


I think this might be it. I have 1.55, but I think I have slots saved... I'll redownload and check.

Alright, now I've got my game running, but no mods appear to be working except for main menu portraits, along with my controls being my keyboard keypad...

I'm about to just refund this and emulate it. You guys think these mods are really worth the hassle?

Not much I can say other than to check over your Workshop -> Settings. Your paths might have typos, and Extra Folders needs music and direct typed into it. All you need for setup is in the tutorial and works fine.

Frustrating, huh? Welcome to my world the past 3 years in testing and developing this Catalog. Your log files and Profile Details look fine, so it should work. There's an underlying factor somewhere that I can't see because it's not my computer, and I didn't do the setup from start to finish :|

I don't know, I wish I could figure out which variable is wrong. As much as I hate to say it, I think I'm going to refund the game and emulate it. The whole reason I bought it was for the mods. Thank you so much for trying to help.

I know this is late but I was having this same issue. Changing the coin texture to no change instead of metallic red fixed it.

I've been using bootleg for the last 5 years. And it was magnificient experience. Thank you Eliza and teams for your amazing work and devotion to this community.
Now I decided to move to 7H and go for one last playthrough before Remake comes out. 7H seems easier to use and more friendly. However I met the same error message at startup, after Eidos logo. It would be really appreciated if you can help me take a look at it.

I am using 7H 1.5.6. I already created 10 save blocks but still crash at the same point. I haven't tried to lower version to 1.5.2 because I want to sort this out with latest version first.
