Conserving resources is far harder and far more likely to negatively effect our lives than killing a few billion third-world people.

the payoff is much better, morally, AND we end up with a few billion people who owe us.

He means, 'one should not speak ill of one's family'.

Tend to disagree on three points,
a) the forum is semi-anonymous,
b) our sentiments aren't going to affect JS's father
c) if they did, we'd be in a context where the man could (and should) defend himself

at the risk of continuing off track, my dad could never defend himself verbally :P but there's a reason he ends up in a jail cell for the night all the time.

anyway, what i'm saying is that parents aren't always the deciding factor

to each his own... i guess (raised on dragon ball z and martial arts movies)

"And I'm the one who needs help. >.>"

ROFLMAO! Nice. Did you re-read my main post yet? 'Cause you sound like you're just... yeah. I disagree completely, but alas it matters not for I will do as I please and so will you.

this is exactly why you should have expected to get blasted in a forum.

55
People should not say the bad habit of their family members  :x

not even sure what you mean by that dude.

56
Uhm, no, actually, I was just trying to get some advice from people I assumed have some experience with living regardless whether this forum is dedicated to a video game or not. Should I not expect you all to be able to give good life advice?

not to put anyone here down, but your asking advice on following ones dream from guys who regularily talk about some of the troubles they are having in life, if you want advice, there are much better places to go, there are most definately people who can give good advice here, but if i were you, i'd search for it somewhere else.

Troubleshooting / Re: Griever editor help please!
« on: 2011-06-27 04:20:00 »
at the risk of sounding like a brainless fool, it is, in my opinion, just bad for business if a game company released a console that uses discs, that cannot run games from one of their older systems that used discs.

Xbox in particular angers me with this (I WANNA PLAY FABLE: THE LOST CHAPTERS ON MY 360 DAMNIT!!)

PS3 has enough bad publicity right now, they might want to think about re-adding backwards compatability (not that it matters to me, as i have one of the original PS3's that can run PS2 games).

my two cents.

58
i find it extremely sad that instead of thinking about better ways to conserve resources, so many just wanna kill off half the planet.

59
Well, look at it this way. When you were a child what did you do (or rather, your parents let you do)? Also, did your parents leave you in front of the televizion when you were in your diapers? That's probably why you think that way. Most of us cannot avoid it, unless that is, you are sightless.

people give kids to little credit, i hate to try and sound like a martyr by using myself as an example again, but my father was a heavily abusive alchoholic, i resolved though not to let him influence me, some (not all) kids are willing to let themselves be brainwashed by the tv or the parents.

60
dude, if your trying to sound like some kind of epic dreamer, your doing it in the wrong place. simple as that.

61
if you wanna make a difference in this world, the place to start is not a forum dedicated to a square enix video game.

you want the money and power to accomplish any dream, you have to get up off your butt, go out, and take what you want.

PS: oh guys, i don't mean to be rude but can we lay off the teenager insults, after all i am 18 myself.

He's Canadian.

Once again, I think that picking on him would be unfair, given all the misfortunes in his life that he has to deal with.

But then again, from what I hear, he's a bit of an arse. Is this a fair assessment?

he sure as hell doesn`t do really seem to care about anything he talks about, and yes, he`s canadian.

but seriousely, he`s just to easy to make fun of, he's like a machine.

my dad was drunk often, and some of the things he'd say was:

"go get me a monkey before i smack your brother"

"if you ever turn gay, i'll stab you in the colon"

then again, the worst thing he did when he was drunk, he never said a word.

Also, George Bush jokes are old. Really old. Prehistoric. They were already getting old towards the end of his first term. Picking on Bush is like picking on people with Down's Syndrome. It's just not fair.

target the robotic stephan harper then.

67
You realize what a joke is, right?

yes, do you? mine was a joke too.

68
GTA MADE HIM DO IT!

last thing gamers need is more people getting on that train of thought.

69
its reasons like this i avoided listening to my parents to much.

Scripting and Reverse Engineering / Re: Models
« on: 2011-05-26 14:32:55 »
Hello everyone. I was looking around for information on extracting and injecting models and textures from and to FFVII PC. Unfortunately I have been unsuccessful. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I would very much like to make an attempt some graphical modding of the game.

first, check out LGP/unLGP which is what you'll need for manually adding new mods.

72
I know it, Its illegal thats why I don't post a download link or even upload it, For now Im making a custom project not a ripped one I call it "Omni Cloud" soon I'll post it in Project Section.

yeah dude but your still talking about it and showing it off, thats what obesebear means by don't brag about it.

Changing dialogue is entirely optional, and the OP did simply state changing the appearance of Cait Sith to be Sephiroth, not a 100% character role change.

but, for a 100% character role change, changing dialogue is easy enough with loveless and other tools that were out for a number of years.

The way I suggested to do a physical change was easily doable at any point for about 5-6 years.

Although, care to tell me how exactly it ruins the game to have the evil Cait Sith physically be someone else, but retain the original dialogue?

It would take a while for one person to change every single line of dialogue Cait has to be new material as if Sephy said it, and would more than quadrupole the time spent on the mod.

Without changing dialogue, I personally fully replaced Cait Sith with Sephiroth in battle, (giving him 13 different weapons) the field, (all of his field models) the menu icons, the field animations, and I gave him a new introduction text for when he joined the team.

and it took me about 20-25 mins to do that.

the dialogue is just an added touch and would take several hours more than likely to change every instance he says something, and unless its going to be a published mod, I don't see how it creates storyline problems just because he has the same dialogue.

Its an aesthetic change more than anything, like wanting to use Blank in FF9 instead of Zidane.

okay, now i see where i went wrong, the guys i'm talking about weren't replacing him with another existing character with existing animations, they were creating an entirely new character with a completely new backstory, changing alot of how the plot went, new animations in battle and field, etc.

they were calling him Skoll, if my memory serves correctly.

In the post you quoted, I mentioned that if you changed the FIELD animations, it would work in the field, which is therefore during the storyline.

and it's just as easy now to rename a field animation as it was 4 years ago, since all you need to do is copy it outside the folder, rename it, then put it back in.

What I mentioned in my post was doable to FF7 practically as long as it was physically modifiable since we use an hex editor to kill the limit break, and we just rename the field animations.

i mean storyline wise as in changing dialogue and such to fit the new character.

75
what exactly are you editing in the scene.bin?

i don't have experience with hojo but usually thats something we should know, if for the other guys, to narrow down whats going on.
