oh well with all the mods everyone in this amazing community has brought out the game already looks amazing so i am happy.
Thanks for help, great community

Does it still do this even after setting "interceptOnlySystemDlls" to "true" in the "Edit Settings"?

Setting it to true fixed that issue, Thank you.
Although i'm still not sure if it's working correctly, i remember last time i used gedosato it used to tell you it was downsampling when u first launched the game
Now it's not doing that, it's also in windowed screen and the resolution doesn't look so great.

Edit

After changing the in game settings so that full screen is disabled
(keep aspect ratio doesn't seem to make a difference)
it launches to a windowed full screen, and the resolution looks better. I use MSI After burner overlay to monitor temps/etc for other games
with gedosato resolution set it makes the writing super small on msi afterburner overlay, which makes me think the resolution has been set right
but there is definately no confirmation of the downsampling by gedosato
quote mcindus from pg1 "You will see text in the top left of the screen confirming your downsampling rate if you did everything right"

Looking at the configs everything seems to be right, i've changed the presentwidth/height to 0 & hz to 144
theres no more errors in the logs.
Just no confirmation from Gedosato on the upper left makes me feel it's not working, plus being in full screen windowed annoys me
borderless windowed would be fine (i also edited the ini so that it forces borderless windowed but that didn't work

i also use RaW v06 i don't know if this would cause any issues seeing it doesn't use a seperate launcher anymore

Hey, It's been a while but i've come back to play FF8 for the 50 millionth time.
I've had all the mods before, got them all running again except gedosato
For some reason i cannot get it working this time.

I've installed it the correct way (making sure the visual studio is installed first, and making sure secure boot is off as im running windows 10)
Then proceeded to install gedosato, then i put in Mcindus configs + i changed the resolutions to be 2x my native resolution (my monitor is 2560x1440@144hz)
so i changed it to 5120@2880@144
Sure enough i get the options in game to change to those resolutions with (59, 60, 120, 144hz)
However when i launch the game it crashes and i get an unknown exception has occured,
If i turn gedosato off the game launches fine on native res
if i use gedosato to have the native resolution the game launches to a black screen until i press escape then the game crashes.

Last time i got this working i believe i was on win 8 or win 8.1 and everything worked flawlessly
However i had a typical 1080p@60hz monitor last time
I believe gedosato is not working properly, does anyone know a fix for my issue? Thanks

Dug a little deeper and found that i'm having this problem constantly

I've gone over the ini because of the WARNING: no rendering resolutions specified in ini
in the FF8_EN there is no resolutions, that's all in the FF8_Launcher

this is my launcher

# In the launcher, choose the new downsampled resolution!

It's like gedosato just doesn't work with win10?

Support / FF7&8 HD Android
« on: 2016-10-23 12:53:38 »
Hi, I'm using ePSXe on my Android and I was wondering if it was possible to run these games with the HD models like i use on my pc

On my PC i run the games on Steam so I understand it's quite different.
I was under the impression that the HD models could still be used on emulated games.
So is it possible to put the HD mods on my android?
If so, how would i go about this?

8
I feel like making a video, While i'm using these mods. What do you guys want a video about???  I'll upload it to youtube for everyone to watch :)   --- With no ads :D

For Steam version, you have to do these 3 steps:
1. Copy files battle.fl, battle.fi & battle.fs from FINAL FANTASY VIII\Data\lang-en\ to the folder above: FINAL FANTASY VIII\Data\
2. Install hardcore patch.
3. Copy files again to FINAL FANTASY VIII\Data\lang-en\ (overwrite).

I Decided to restart once installing the Difficulty Mod to FF8 PC Steam version.
After getting the Garden, I head out GF Hunting, Got Odin immediately (Not doing the no lv game this time round)
I've defeated 47 Tonberry's so far No Tonberry King.

I read on a forum somewhere after about Tonberry #45 That degenerator and Odin do not work on Tonberry's......
Odin has killed 6 so far and i degenerated approximately 16
The rest were killed by Renzokuken. I believe this is a glitch, Maybe because of the Difficulty mod?
Any idea's on a fix? -- I'd like to keep the difficulty mod

Got it to work, My mistake i read the installation folder wrong...

For others trying to install this mod

Extract the folder Hardcore into the FF8 directory
then apply the patch...

My problem was i put it in a folder in my documents with the rest of my mods, Then tried to install it
(ID10T error)

Thanks a bunch, Hope it's as hard as everyone says.

Just did a quick test on edea at the end of disc 2, And although she was harder, it was still pie

I tried it with the pc patch didn't work....
Game loads up just like normal, did all you said.

My Installation is on a different HDD if that makes a difference

Get rid of "char_textures_obj" because that is actually an older version of Rebirth Flame before it was moved to it's own thread and took on the new name.

That fixed it, Thanks heaps

13
Great. And if you run into any issues regarding character and NPC textures, please let me know on that thread so I can promptly try and fix them.

Didn't work, Any other idea's?

I've got installed ;
GeDoSaTo
Horizon Pack 2.1
Project Eden 1.0
Rebirth Flame 1.1
SeeD Reborn 3.2
Texture Replacement
Tonberry Enhanced 2.04
Tripod 1.1
RaW_W04
my hash maps are
Char_Textures_hm.csv
HorizonPack_hm.csv
LunarCry_hm.csv
ProjectEden_hm.csv
RebirthFlame_hm.csv
SeeDReborn_hm.csv
Tripod_hm.csv

my obj maps are
Char_textures_obj(recommended).csv
LunarCry_obj.csv

14
That would be Rebirth Flame. I've posted a download for v1.1. Download it if you haven't and use the updated hashmap. You also need to delete the objmap or disable it. This will solve all those problems.

Thanks i'll try that now!

15
Hey Guys, I'm having a problem with the textures and i'm not sure what to do.
I'm upto the Lunar Base part, And everyone in a space suit is all messed up, there eyes are on there crutch and body parts are all jumbled.
But that's only a small problem, My problem is when i try to save Rinoa from space, Her texture doesn't show up, So i can't see where i'm supposed to move as she's not in the screen
Does anyone have any idea on how i can fix this? it's not possible to move forward from this spot when she's stuck in space lol

--- Rinoa was lost in space forever

Gameplay / [FF8PC-STEAM] Difficulty mod ?
« on: 2015-05-11 23:47:39 »
Is there any difficulty mods for FF8 Steam version?

I love the games and all the mods you guys have brought out, but this game is Too easy.
I want to struggle, find the game so hard that i get frustrated with it, and fight the same boss for several hours,
and still fail and rage quit.

If anyone could hook me up with a difficulty mod (Not the add-on damage, hp etc)
I would be in my element
