FF9 Tools / Re: [PC] Save editor - Memoria (0.6.3.1)
« on: 2021-04-24 22:01:01 »
I sadly missed Stiltzkin in Burmecia, and wanted to know if there was a to inject the encounter and purchase into my save, without needing to restart. I'd love to hear any ways to do this! I'm now in Treno, about 12 hours in (with a bunch of cool cards, and the 1000 jump roping key item), so I'd hate to have to restart.

7th Heaven / Re: Correct load order.
« on: 2016-02-11 15:44:55 »
Here's a copy of the load order from the tutorial:

  • Miscellaneous - Dynamic Cloud Weapons
  • Miscellaneous - Jessie Mod
  • Miscellaneous - Sephiroth Story Mod
  • Miscellaneous - Team Avalanche Fields
  • Battle Models - Weapons
  • Field Models - Objects
  • Alphabetical thereafter, beginning with Animations

The mods need to be in alphabetical order in the last step. A lot of people mess this one up.

Actually all of the modding tools have been out for a long time now. I created an index for that as well. - http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=592358107

I'm hoping that tile seam issue gets fixed because it's horrible still. The Reshade preset I created helps a little bit, but it's definitely still there.

I'm proud to announce that the work we've done on FFVI lately got some amazing attention! Check out the article below.

I ran into the potion and the sweeper before the very first boss & save point. The random battles included the sweeper, and the potion that had the original texture was the one near Jessie before going further down to the save point.

7th Heaven / Re: Game crashes at launch

I had the same problem when I didn't run FF7_GameConverter_7H.exe as Administrator.

Run the "FF7_GameConverter_7H.exe" again, but this time as Administrator (Right click, Run as Administrator). Press "O" to overwrite. Once the FF7Config pops up, go to the Sound tab, and make sure the correct device (Sound Driver is selected). Afterwards, test the Center, Left and Right speakers to be sure that sound works. Lastly, close the config and finish the rest of the conversion.

I hope this helps.

7th Heaven / Re: Bug Feedback? Cosmetic bug

Since these are both potential 7th Heaven bugs, you probably want to post the issue here instead: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=14490.0

Awesome work on catalog 2.0! I love it so far! Thank you very much for everyone's contribution to this project.

I have ran into two issues so far:

The Team Avalanche Sweeper model and SlayersNext Potions are not used even though they are selected. I have attached my 7th Heaven (1.50) Profile here: http://pastebin.com/SPYqPZhu. Please let me know if you need anything else to help diagnose the issue.

Awesome. I'm excited for both. Well, I may as well post the tutorial for future reference. It was created by one of the contributors in the Final Fantasy Modding Steam Group. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/ff-modding/discussions/1/451848855020615337/

I can't wait for this to come out! The new Higan/BSNES also has the new MSU-1 resume functionality which is great timing.

insidious611, have you thought of releasing a FF6 Steam version as well, since it is now possible to replace the audio within the game?

11
The FF Modding Steam Community has whipped up another gem today. FF6 modding can now commence!

For those testing the alpha version, be sure to grab my shader preset http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=16411.msg232697. In FF6 it looks amazing.

When trying to play with emulators that focus on accuracy rather than emulators that focus on upscaling, a shader is very important for the experience. Getting the right shader can rival even emulators with upscaling.

I've spent the passed few months, trying an assortment of libretro shaders, and have had success with many of them. From CRT shaders that would present all the pixels in their true glory while being smoothed over with minimal scanlines, to shaders with algorithms that would smooth out the pixels enough to make retro games appear HD.

However, I was never truly satisfied, because either the scanlines were distracting while not providing any enhancements, or the other shaders that would HDify everything still suffered from a lot of quality loss or distortion.

Well, a few days ago, I ran across this thread: http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2397. The first shader in that thread, seemed to be almost exactly what I was looking for. It was literally the best of both worlds.

There were just two things that needed tweaking: the shader wasn't very bright, and I wasn't a fan of the warping.

-----

So I present to you, my tweaked version of the aforementioned Shader Preset. I've tested it out on SNES and Playstation 1 games so far, and it's absolutely amazing.

Shader: http://pastebin.com/bgF4Jw0d (Mirror: http://pasted.co/2c16f01e)

Save it as "xBRMultiLevel4+CRTLottesHalation-tweaked.dll.cgp" for example, and tweak the paths to match your RetroArch version.

Here are a few screenshots (the screenshots add vertical lines for some reason, which do not exist when using the shader):

If you want me to take screenshots of other games, I'm more than happy to, or if you need helping setting this up in RetroArch, feel free to ask for help. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

Releases / Re: [FF8PC-Steam] HD PS1 Font Replacement
« on: 2015-09-20 14:51:28 »
This looks great! Will this work on top of SeeD Reborn?

15
It looks like FFV that is coming out this month, will sadly need the same treatment. FFIV, FFIV - After Years, and FFV.

IcePenguin, you are our only hope! :D

16
I'm personally a fan of the second option. A seamless audio experience is better than having to idle in an area to hear the entire song. On the world map, it would get pretty repetitive once you reach higher levels and can down most mobs with a few attacks.

However, both options would be even better, since I'm sure people don't agree with me.

Will you be potentially working on a solution later in order to not need either workaround?

17
I love this mod. You've improved the PC remake tenfold. Thanks alot for your work.

Would something like this work for FF4 and FF4: After Years as well?

18
I love the progress on this. MSU-1 hacks are amazing. Keep up the great work! :D

By the way, have you thought of making a version that would support the Re-Translation done by RPGONE (http://www.romhacking.net/translations/697/ )? I thought they did an awesome job. ChrisRPG did the programming. He passed away not too long after it got released, or shortly before. R.I.P. :(

Another cool rom hack that I've wanted to try was Brave New World. http://www.insanedifficulty.com/index.php/index.html/_/news/brave-new-world-160-released-r126.

If only those two hacks worked together.

"You really ought to" sounds the best in my opinion. Here's a good reference as well: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/ought

I love these. I can't wait to try them out!

I'm still trying to remain patient and will play once everything gets overhauled more or less, but seeing this makes me want to cheat a bit ;)

Catalogs / Re: 7th Heaven Mod Requests - To Do List
« on: 2015-02-18 19:21:20 »
Hey EQ2Alyza. So glad you are doing this. I've switched completely as well, and am waiting for R02 in 7th heaven before I try it ;)

I have one request:

I think it would be awesome to include cm175's videos (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=14852.0). I personally like the quality in his videos in comparison to the others that are currently included in 7th heaven.

Thanks again for all of your work. Can't wait for the future updates.

22
Ah it appears I'm late to the party. The R02b download link appears to be down. Well at least the linkbucks.com link anyways.

Also, has anyone managed to get this to work with 7th heaven? Was wondering in what order I should install everything, and if certain mods from the 7th heaven catalog should be disabled now that reunion r02b is out.

Thanks DLPB, Luksy, Kaldarasha, and everyone else involved in this. Am very excited to replay FF7 again thanks to you guys :D

23
Will there be an iro version of the R02 release? Now that I have fully switched from Bootleg to 7th Heaven, I don't want to go back to installers :P

If not, then is R02 compatible with a modded FF7 using 7th Heaven?

Releases / Re: [FF7PC] ChaOS -Character Overhaul Seven
« on: 2014-12-27 20:37:17 »
I can confirm the same issue with the newest IRO files. Right before starting the bike minigame for the first time (at Shinra Tower), it fades to black and stays there. When deactivating all 3 modules, it works without problems.

Edit: Removed. Would rather not fuel the fire. Just give the kid a break. English isn't obviously his native language.
