7th heaven bypasses old lgp's when you use a mod like weapons, etc, did you open the game from within 7th heaven or did you open the game with the .exe file directly? Did you make the lgp change before you used the 7th heaven game converter? What's your load order look like?Hi, first i started it via 7th exe, there i saw that the programm bypasses my modded lgps. So i tried the games original exe, there my modded weapons worked, but not the chars(as i didnt mod them seperate from 7th) so i tried to boot via 7th exe but leaving the weapon mods from the catalogue either on status deactive or active but with no change, both times the game still bypassed my files. Load order was as described in tutorial and suggested already in other topics in this forum.
7H can combine mods but it can be tricky to set up.Hi, im relativly new to modding. Could you please(if still active here) be more precise of what you mean in the described steps.
The other way is using an archive unpacker to extract all the model files and then replace the ones you want changed before repacking it back into an archive.
1) Extract the archive's files (like battle.lgp for battle models, or char.lgp for field models) using Luks'y ULGP tool or similar.
2) Download a mod that provides loose model files; 7H IROs can also be unpacked using 7th heaven and their model files used in the same way.
3) Dump the mod's model files into the folder where you extracted the archive files, overwriting them when prompted.
4) Repack the archive into an .lgp file using ULGP again and you're good to go.
There is a GUI version of Luksy's tool but I never got it to work, I use the file explorer shortcuts it can set up instead.
7H is an injection tool. It loads your activated mods into memory and releases them when the game closes. Files in the game folder are untouched. This would be nice if someone could tell me how to do it because i have the problem that some mods i applied f ex weapon lgp dont work if i use the 7th exe to launch the game and i dont know how to fix that issue
You can download the mods from 7H and use the IRO creation tool to unpack them. Then install the mods manually and launch from the game folder. You have to know the file structure of the game very well to do this though.
One thing you need to realize is when you uninstall/reinstall video drivers it will ALWAYS momentarily black screen. Give it a minute.
I'm about to pass out it's 5am in the US.

This is what I got with it when I loaded it up. That's the right model isn't it? I checked some other weapons and it works correctly on my system at the moment. How's it going for you, Matrix?
Maybe I'm alone with that, but I'm a very big fan of the 'direct mode' of Aali's driver.
Enable it, put all the weapons in the direct/battle folder and be happy. This is the best way to test something, before messing around with the lgp-files.
To enable it, you need to open the ff7_opengl.cfg with a text editor and at the very end you will see somehing like that 'direct_mode = on'. If you make a change, you have to save it.
You can manually enter a name for the archive.
If you do not specify a path before, it will be created where ulgp's inside.
But you're right, with 0.5 it works properly!
With 0.7 it does not work, the old files are preserved in the archive (interesting).
The original RTAD is 9kb in size, millenias is 12289kb in size.
If I do not copy with, cloud attacks with empty hands
Sorry for your frustration
This is how you learn to work with a PC in depth, by breaking it and fixing it again repeatedly. We've all been through it.
In the end, if the experience of learning how your computer works is not enjoyable... then ya, don't do it. If it isn't broken don't try to change it if you are going to get so angry when it doesn't work.
I'm suspicious of your windows install being up to date now. Anyway, good luck.
The driver works fine, I use it myself along with a HD6870.
It's supposed to be, but we have some really smart Germans around here. See if troubleshooting in German is easier. Those fking drivers gave me just black screen unable to do anything anymore, i had to restore an ancient windowssystem backuppoint to get this mess undone, so thx for this shit!
Those drivers are almost brand new. Then AMD came out with a newer official release that doesn't like ff7.
I still think you should use the catalyst drivers located here. I don't know if it will solve all the problems, but it might help. I don't know much about the game converter but if you are playing a non-english version of the game, it may be necessary. I'm handing this off to the other guys.
What version of windows is this anyway? Must be 7 but I'm just shocked it's acting this way.
If you have reinstalled FF7 you should try my FF7_GameConverter.
The Converter works also with the English version, but sets some registry keys more than bootleg.
Check beforehand that you have a data medium (eg USB stick) inserted with the name "FF7DISC1".
After that you copy your savegames in your game folder.
After you start the game, it should automatically show up FF7Config.
Check all tabs and make all tests.
As soon as you click OK, the game starts, test if fighting is possible.
Close the game and rename "app.log" in "_app.log" (then you have a app.log where everything works).
Now try to copy your manipulated battle.lgp (the old please backup before) and test the game again.
Disable PBO.
