Oh my God!! http://lmgtfy.com/?q=MSCOMCT2.OCX  What are the chances!?  The first first link on the first page!  Simply unbelievable.

And let's try using some proper grammar, ok?  It just shows respect for everyone else here.

I find it doubtful that you searched for 3 days as it took me 10 seconds to find a working link on the 3 page in the search.

edit: Apparently global mods have upgraded ninja skills as well  :-P

Well, lets see. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and when I right click the "text" next to the "instructions" I don't have the option to "save to desktop".

well...

So then I went and click the link above that. Ran the little program that popped up called "libraryfiles.exe" and it still managed to fail in burning red fire colored capital F's.

Whet into my Windows\system32 folder to see if it was even there... (not surprising to me at all) "ZOMG" it wasn't there.

But since everyone wants to be a douche-bag and PMS all over me posting in "bad grammar" over the internet on a public forum, and assume that every living soul that makes an account on this site should all have the same level of technical knowledge by default instead of just simply helping someone in need... I'll just leave.

I don't want the link or the file anymore.

Screw it, you people are entirely to bi-polar for me.

Have a great day now.

And if  you feel the need, go ahead and spell/grammar check my post, because I'm about 79% sure that I'm about to delete my account and just drop this modding thing all together if this is what I have to go through every time I can't get my hands on something the rest of the community already has and maybe has had for the past couple years.

It's not just the grammar thing. You said you searched on Google for a file for three days and couldn't find it. Yet all three of us searched for it and took us about 10 seconds.

Now there's only two reasons why you couldn't find it.
1. You are retarded.
2. You didn't search.

Since I'm not trying to criticize you in any way, I'm going to have to go with number two. Search next time and you won't get yelled at for NOT searching.

Right, well everything you need to get it working is either in this thread or in the links contained herein.   Answers are also contained on other threads throughout this very forum.

If you still can't get it working, I honestly don't know what to tell you.

I am truly sorry you are the first that has to bare witness to not having your hand held, but it has to start somewhere.

oh my freakin god lol ok im gonna type that into my google AGAIN and count how many purple links i see from the websites i went into looking for it cuz that FIRST link like i said didnt give it to me when i followed the instructions it gave me

trial 1: click the first link, save the program, run it and its supposed to update ur system32 with the missing files from the company

i did it

result

the file i came wasnt there AFTER i ran it

trial 2: right click the text to the left and click the option "save to desktop"

when i right click that text the only thing with the word "save" that comes up is "save file as" and every time i save it, it saves as a shortcut to a link instead of as the file itself and a bunch of scrambled text pop up in a new browser when i utilize the shortcut.

its literally been more than one day since i searched that first site

the others are fullashet cuz they are just trying to get u to download a scan/scanner program that u have to pay for

again like i said

the link inside the post from which i quoted is faulty in some way unless the actual file is inside the "index.php3" file but i dont have the software to open it so as of now its totally useless to me

we could have avoided this whole thing if SO MANY people are having this problem why didnt somone just upload it (the potentially missing files) to a zip for everyone to get when in need

and when asked u can just repost the link

see how the biggest problems have the simplest solutions?

its called economic efficiency

jump on it, its how groups and teams evolve

I stopped reading right after trial 2.

Right-click on the text and click "Save Link As...". After that, select All Files from the drop down bar. Save it and move it to the system32 folder.

Cool, I'm sure you're the only one who has ever had this problem.  I definitely haven't, nope.  No way.   No way do I also use Windows 7 x64.  And no way have I tried it using both Firefox and Iron (who uses IE anymore... yikes).

So, one more time, just in case you didn't read it in the first post.  Try helping yourself.  I will give you a small little hint, because you make me feel sad for humanity.   Right click, save link as.

Type without grammar again and this gets removed.

Holy crap... click on the 3rd link down in google.
Click the file.
Save it.
Copy it to windows/system32.
Open a command prompt (type cmd in the search in your start menu, right click and run as administrator)
type regsvr32 mscomct2.ocx

Don't you just run "cmd" as admin if it's windows 7 or Vista, and type in the name of the .dll?
After the .dll file is in windows/system32 that is.

I don't know what regsvr32 is, so I think we are even. ;).
I have always just typed the name of the .dll in the "cmd" prompt after I put the file in my windows/system32 folder. But, now I am merely repeating myself.
I am sorry. ^.^.
