7th Heaven / Getting 7th Heaven to work on a RaspberryPi?
« on: 2023-05-25 01:16:25 »
I travel for work a lot.

I currently am sitting in a hotel room. I was streaming 7th Heaven to my phone when my internet cut out. Just a pain in the ass all around to get consistent streaming to work unfortunately.

I was trying to think of ways to get 7th Heaven on the go. If it takes transferring save files back and forth between my PC and Pi on trips then it’s worth it for me.

Just want to know if anyone has tried this or if it’s even possible?

Playing through New Threat 2.0. What a mod man. Fantastic work Sega-Chief, can't say enough how awesome and refreshing this mod is. Very cool overall and am excited to see where else it goes as we head towards the finish.

One thought I've had, the love triangle fell off after saving Aerith. I understand that the core game is probably difficult to edit, but to me... it just seems to end with no resolution or "choice" if you will. I just got to Mideel for whatever thats worth, but Aerith seems to be in the background now and its really more about Tifa and Cloud.

I have to say its just doesn't feel right.

Other than that, still loving it. Wonder if I'll be able to get back into sector 7 or see what biggs, wedge, and jesse are doing...

I would like to put my own music into the game. Maybe a David Bowie track here or there for shits and giggles. I’d like to make an IRO file to drop into 7th Heaven. Does anyone have any tutorials on this?

Hey Sega, what are the chances of transporting this mod over to PlayStation versions?

I don’t feel like buying a new computer to experience this along with everything else, but I wouldn’t mind playing vanilla FF7 with this mod added only on my retropie.

Let me know if it’s possible.

A game done right should never have a time frame. It should always be done when it's done. Let's wait to pass judgement after November.

Let's be honest though... 10 years?

No game has taken 10 years to make to my knowledge. And then when you have an event that's main draw is the release date... Then you change it, it's a pretty terrible look.

9
I saw Kotaku's quote, "it's been 10 years, what's another two months?"

Lol no game should take this long. I have a bad feeling that the game is going to suck ass, despite having decent sales.

Oh well. continue to push this game at us Square when in reality we would rather have a proper FF7 remake...

10
So why even post about it?

Not surprisingly Square is gonna be turds about this kinda stuff. Honestly though... There could always be some sort of "leak" same shit happened with Chrono trigger Crimson echoes

General Discussion / FF7 "episodes" are full-sized games
« on: 2016-04-06 21:28:49 »
http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/04/06/final-fantasy-7-remakes-episodes-are-the-size-of-full-games

This worries the fuck out of me.

It sounds like there wont be any carry-over from game to game level-wise or materia wise.

If this is the case, then they are fucking ruining it.

I just want a level/materia-cap in each game and each one to build off one another. You have to play the first before you play the next.

I want ONE disc with a season pass and then everything downloaded after that.

I'll hold out hope because translations are always shitty and Square is notoriously bad at communicating what they are doing, saying its structured like FF13 trilogy makes me think that each game is going to be stand-alone and thats bad.

I want to know if I'm in a minority here.

I have been frequenting the Final Fantasy subreddit as of late.

I could be very mistaken with this, but I don't think I am.

I understand that it's a community of FF enthusiasts, but these people made very serious arguments about how great Lightning was as a character.

I think I should have seen red flags when this community seems like they in general like final fantasy xiv...

Anyway, I don't think Lightning is that great. I think she is an average if not below average hero. What do you guys think?

General Discussion / Garbage Article about FF7's sexism...
« on: 2016-01-28 15:33:29 »
http://www.themarysue.com/remake-final-fantasy-vii-without-the-sexism/

Came across this, this morning. Its gotta be a fake article, this can't be real... The author is "Sandy Beaches" i.e. a pseudonym out the ass.

I'm sorry, but we've reached a critical point where people are too soft.

1. Tifa argument

- She's a fucking polygonal character, that's literally all I am saying.

2. Shera should stand up to her abuser

- Its more realistic that she doesn't because most women don't. It sheds light on real life and doesn't ignore it.

3. Yuffie's sidequest

- Argument boils down to trying to show how the minority character truly feels... um, the entire culture has been beaten down and is unwilling to stand up to their oppressors. Yuffie represents that. This author is an idiot.

4. Cloud should die instead of Aerith

- Idiotic argument. Attempts to say Cloud is constantly whining, which barely happens anyway.

I noticed that this article has been getting a good amount of hits to.

I guess all it takes is to look for some sort of negative buzzword that's highly controversial about something people love, the person who wrote this deserves to be slapped.

14
I'm sorry, but apparently FF15 is a smaller game and that is going to end up being a 10 year development cycle.

I'm sure as fuck not buying a PS5 just for final fantasy 7, so I much prefer this multipart series that is released in reasonable timelines.

After hearing that this won't be episodic like Telltale games, I'm more optimistic.

I've also heard that there's a possibility for level caps before the next release so we could carry at least some semblance of progress forward.

I would accept this and probably enjoy it. Getting to play earlier would be great if it all lines up and adds on.

My other hope is the free-roaming of the world map added on and not some garbage map with location choice like in final fantasy 10.

This kind of confirms their incessant bitching for all those years saying "it would be too big of a project to remake the game"

So they are going to expand Midgar and stuff which makes the game bigger

The pros of this are we are going to be able to play the game sooner rather than later

The cons are this is going to be a huge cash grab, and we will probably beat the episodes long before the next ones get released.

I am not too happy about this. I was looking forward to buying some limited edition version.

If they price any of these episodes at $60 then that's a middle finger to us.

This is shit news.

I guess it is.  My level of hate to it is very great and I believe for good reasons.  And I'm sure before the end I'll have to endure another load of cutscenes and trailers and posts that piss me off no end. And then I'll probably be back.  I'd much rather be here saying how well they've done and how much they've proven me wrong - but it's just the opposite.  I'm sure a lot of people here, even  those critical of the remake so far, will enjoy it for what it is.  But I can't ever be one of those people, because I see this game and many like it as an affront to game making and a slap in the face of intelligence.

See you have a condescending and incendiary tone. As covarr said, just deal with it and move on. You want to continue to express this obsessive hatred, then go blog about it because it's really annoying to see the same tired "argument."

Oh my lord, get the wahmbulance.

If you don't like this then just play the original.

Like seriously these problems people have are so damn nitpicky.

Everyone and their mother has wanted a remake, you got it after more than a decade, just deal with it.

You know what you get with Nomura. We all know he is a narcissistic turd that hasn't produced anything good in a long time.

Regardless, I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy it.

19
It seems that they will use the UT4 engine.

I've seen this... now I know Luminous is being used on FF XV... But seriously, why did they even waste time with Agni's Philosophy if you aren't going to do anything with the engine you were showing off..........

Square is so damn frustrating.

Textures have to be applied on top of the model, but the colors you see are polygon colors. I'm not the best either, but as far as I know you can't do it easily. I can't help much more than the theory.

Is there anywhere I should look?

21
Eyes and mouth are textures and not part of the polygons. You can't "remove these white polygons", as that's what the model is. Textures are applied on top of the mesh to add the eyes and mouth properly.

Well, when the image is rendered it obviously works right.

Is there any way I can change those textures so the model I save doesn't have the white polygons then?

Apologies, I'm a mega noob when it comes to this.

22
Use in Edit mode remove doubles from the tools tab. If they still there then hovering the mouse over them and press L* and then press X and delete them.
If you kill to much select three vertices (off course you could select more ad once, but this wouldn't generate a tris) and press F to fill the hole.
You can also use the material tab to select all with the material and delete them with X, too.

*With L you can select a connected mesh, which is pretty useful if one object exist out of more than one meshes.

Hmm thats not working.

The polygons are still there and the eyes are still hidden within them.

Probably a noob question, but I'm trying to learn the ins and outs of this.

Anyway, how the heck do I get rid of these ugly white polygons so it's just the eyes and mouth?

Three Things:

1. Devil's Gate... that was just challenging. I ended up winning by using Cloud's Yoshiyuki with both allies down, then once I took out the first half (how lucky idk) I revived everyone.

2. Aeris' Death Scene... Lol I was expecting some big explanation or something exciting... nope just a phoenix down LOL.

3. The 2nd Jenova.... Ummm I lost this fight, but I still won? Idk. What the hell is with that? Also if I had actually killed that thing would I have gotten any bonuses

BONUS THING: I forgot to let the clock knock me down to the bottom at the temple of the ancients... what did I miss?

I'm at Cosmo and I JUST got Blade Beam for Cloud.
