APZ made his cloud... I like that cloud, and as far as i know he is not doing the rest of the characters... therefor what i'm doin is filling the gap. Stylistically its anime-ish, yet somewhat realistic.

Nice nice nice, I thought you're gonna create really anime like models, making Apz like models are the best.
Helping or Continuing Apz Work is the best decision you have made.

Viashino's good to, maybe Apz will be the middle man of the designs, since your style is different to Viashino's  but Viashino gets his work checked by Apz first.

Ummm, :-D you gonna help making the Chibi's?

Coz Viashino prefers Tall ones and Apz is kinda busy to make all the CHIBI's.

Since you like anime style, do you like Chibi models?

Will yours be cel-shaded? So you are gonna make all of the main characters just like them?

Hmmmm anime like would be a good choice too. I can imagine them cel-shaded just like Barret's picture, It will kinda blend with the lowres background.

Does this mean you'll be part of the AVHD or you're gonna have different releases?
I just think that helping each other would make the project much faster instead of having all these different Barrets to choose from.

It's very good, very very good. Except that it doesn't look like the buster sword in Advent Children and Crisis Core.

But on the artistic side, it's very good. It would be great if you model the other weapons.

I bet you'll be able to create a very beautiful Hard Edge.

lol unless your like me heheheh  :evil: i can have any size i want lol but again its apz so what i do with his release is for my personal use so dont bother asking me as well because its still belongs to apz and he already knows i di-sected the whole thing from textures to the re assembling of the obj but i wont give it to anyone because it is apz property and if he says he wont release it i have no right to do the same.

BTW apz still waiting to talk to you about our project, cant move forward till i got an answer my friend also waiting for the OTHER things i requested you know what i mean lol.

Look at this, look at size of the chairs.
Notice not only the size of the characters compared to the chairs but imagine if a tall slim guy sits on the chair. The table won't fit for the tall guy.

 I think the world itself is designed for CHIBI

That's one reason I don't like TALL ones.

I think they don't look proportional to the world itself.

and the wide open arms reallyyyyyyyyy look bad on these tall ones.


but look really cool on Chibi and keeps the game's Original Look and Feel :mrgreen:
Just look at his stance man. He's proud to be a chibi  :-D :-D :-D                                                                    Just look at lil' Sephy holding dear mama's head.


I suggest we leave the tall ones to the Official Remake of FFVII
and keep the FFVII look like the original FFVII we all loved but HIGH-DEF :-o :-o

I see you are using 1024x768.

From my experiences

1024x768 didn't work on a new laptop that can run it on 1280x800, the game won't start even appear.
1024x768 doesn't work on my PC that can run it at 1280x960, the game runs but the battle swirl won't start or is very very slow.
1024x768 doesn't work on my Pentium 3 laptop that can run it at 640x480, the game won't start even appear.

1024x768 I think it doesn't work for old PC's with video card that can't run OpenGL 2.0

So you guys are capable of making high res background just by resizing them?

Does that means you don't have to recreate every image on the game?

So are we going to have high res backgrounds pretty soon?

The background you showed are already good. Not only that, they are also Original except they're HIGH-RES.
I'd like those rather than waiting for people recreating every single background for a long time.
The Official FFVII could have already appeared then.

EDIT: Oh man, my mistake. I thought it looks good because Mozilla resized them and made them smaller.
EDIT: I think these backgrounds just need painting after resizing instead of recreating them. That will enable you to make them faster.

may I ask if the preserve_aspect = true works on your intel based laptop?
Coz my PC ain't intel based but preserve_aspect = true still doesn't work.

and also if the battle continues at 1024x768 resolution. Coz that also doesn't work for me.
The swirl will take about 5hrs before it finishes I guess at 1024x768.

I made my own installer for personal use.

I just don't know if it's ok to post it here. Coz the installer contains the whole battle.lgp

And if you have other battle models they will be overwritten.

Had anyone tried to run at 1024x768? The battle won't start if I the resolution 1024x768 both with shaders and without. It hangs right before the battle swirl not actually hang but lag so much that it won't finish the swirl. But works at 1280x960.

did 1280x960 work for you full screen? I am using 1280x1024 as 1280x960 forces windows mode for me.

I am using nvidia scaling option that uses nvidia to scale and preserve aspect ratio in my drivers (so monitor still in native resolution).

Yes, 1280x960 works very well full screen for me. 1024x768 won't continue the battle swirl. 960x720 forces me to window mode.
Another problem is that preserve_aspect = true doesn't work for me. No matter what resolution.

Currently the custom driver is still picky.

I noticed that the resolution that forces me to window mode is a resolution that isn't supported by my video card or monitor.
Like 960x720 I went to the display properties of my desktop and check if it is an available resolution on the slider and found out that it isn't there.

Your config is version 1.00 download the 1.02 patch and replace it.

After replacing it, you can then try 0.6.7b. again.

Try patching it with YAMP, I did it on the laptop where
battleswirl_framelimiter = true didn't work
and you can't almost see the swirl because it's too fast.

Finally got it working on the laptop 1280x800

1. I upgraded the driver to the latest from Intel.com
2. intalled ff7_opengl-0.6.7b

use_shaders = true

window_size_x = 1280
window_size_y = 800
preserve_aspect = true/false
fullscreen = true

prevent_rounding_errors = false ; when I set this to true the image at the top gets messed up when I start to move and the screen scrolls or I open the menu.
Setting it to false made the game work very good.

enable_vsync = true

Thanks a lot Aali for the new driver. This driver just keeps getting better and better.

The laptop is fine now

The only problem left is on the PC with GeForce FX5500 where
preserve_aspect = true doesn't work.
I already checked that I have the latest drivers.
Overall it works fine.

If only number 3 goes full screen then I'll have no problem.
