Okay, I was wondering if its plausible to try something like this.

make the player be able to change the 'outfit' they have on, and have the battle model change to suit it?

for instance, have the ability to change into cloud MP (no mask) at Junon and have that load a inserted battle model (such as sjaa or taaa) instead of his normal battle model.

the game naturally loads a different model for cloud during the final battle, so i was wondering if its possible to implement something like that in the game.

any ideas on this?

Okay, i was playing Chrono trigger DS (and Black sigil blade of the exiled) and then i was thinking how it would be better if the materia system was better made.

then i remembered that Sephiroth's materia is naturally locked, but it can however be made unlocked or edited with wallmarket.

so, the idea came to me to make everyone have fixed materia, but each person have their own elemental affinity, and for limit breaks, they could be changed to have a cetain element to them.

but, like some materia naturally needs to go to a certain level to unlock the spell, we could fix the materia to become usable at certain AP growth.

for example...

Cloud could be earth elemental and learn skills like double slash.

his materia set u could be...

all materia 'useless' at 0AP.

then at 50AP, 'bolt' becames usable.

140AP 'cure' becomes available.

etc.

it can be set up so that all the base spells are learnt, then the higher spells and skills becomes available in such a way.

what do the people think? is this probably possible and worthwhile to add additional challenge to the game? (although requires time and effort to properly plan everything out)

Archive / Does anyone know how to change enemy attacks?

Okay, i was generally messing around with a few enemies, but whenver i try to change the attack a enemy has, it either does nothing or hang.

for instance, i want to either add matra magic as a new attack or replace electro mag rod in the reno battles, but i don't really know what exactly i'm meant to do in order to change reno's attack into matra magic.

or change rapps attacks to be more suiting to this monster change i did.



(idea used from someone who 'suggested' it in a different topic)

i can change aero3 to be fire elemental, but i want it to use attacks like fire 3, flare, etc.

so, does anyone know what is needed in order to change the attacks enemies use?

note: i did look around, but i never found anything 'concrete' that seemed to work.

Okay, i was just going through the char.lgp as i was working on some models, then on the ID list I have, i noticed the fancy train model cloud model.

so, i whipped this up in about 5-10 mins, and i have to say, i think its a lot better and looks like it belong even if it makes the other people look bad when compared to him! XD

here's some screens showing him compared to the original, normal model and sword model.




(note, both models are the same size and all animations work, its just hard getting them the same size in kimera)

decided on a list of people to redo currently.

Avalanche <the main 9 people <including variant outfits> + biggs, wedge, jesse and Marlene>

Shinra <people in the shinra building in the suits/dresses, Rufus, the president, palmer, Scarlet, hedigar, hojo, the MP grunts, the red guards, Zack, etc>

Nibleheim <Zangan, Tifa's father, Cloud's mother>

Gold Saucer <Dio, people who manage the place>

Alright, using the new Kimera, I'm doing a somewhat revised version of Tifa so that she uses a sword and a bow. <also so that she's sporting a more warrior-esc design)

<right now i'm testing to see if i can increase the number of frames in the long range attack to have Tifa stab the sword into the ground, then pick up a bow from her back, then fire it>

Currently I'm just giving her a sword <the soldier 3rd class one> before trying to make her have a bow. <also as i would have to make it from scratch.>

Although I do want to change her attack animation from the 30th battle animation with the 23rd battle animation in Tifa's directory.

General Discussion / where did vincents clothes come from?

viincent was shot by hojo when he was a turk before being experimented on, and i assume hojo wouldn't give a test subject a new set of clothes, so where did vincent get that set of clothes in the 30 years when he was in the coffin? this was bugging me for a while now.

that won't appear ingame for me, and i placed it in the correct area for it to be used by cloud correctly, i'm wondering if it was just my video card or something.
if anyone would be so kind as to test this for me and tell me if it works will be greatly appreciated!

well, i don't expect anyone to respond to this, but i just wanted to point out to somebody that i got ff7pc working on vista, and after 5 months of being unable to play the game, i finally can again!  :lol:

this is a mod that replaces the main characters' outfits with the soldier 3rd class one.

the mod currently only replaces the field, world map and battle, i will post a update on this tomorrow with the motor cycle minigame and the chocobo minigame and see if anything else needs replacing. i'll also make barret black and change the other 2 clouds that are weren't changed as they are rarely seen (wheelchair and parachute cloud, well, parachute everyone)
NOTE: as uploading the lgp files is illegal, i am putting up the extracted folders and all you have to do is create a new lgp file from them.

and, if anyone is the slightest bit interested, tomorrow is my birthday.   :-(

it just came to me that we don't see much of biggs, wedge and jesse n the mods here or the proper game, so why not make a mod where biggs is cloud, wedge is barret and jesse is tifa?
i recall seeing some concept art of them on the web somewhere, so they could be the menu icons, and the mini games are changeable, and the NPC RP models of them are suitable for the battle. would anyone want me to put up a link for this as i am gonna put some screens for it later today.
(it's only lego models at the moment, but that could be easily fixed to the NPC RP models.  8-))
(i am also changing the text so that barret is still the leader of avalanche and cloud is a hired member of soldier and tifa is the bar tender, and that biggs and co talk about abandoning the others in their hour of need at the sector 7 pillar when it falls, etc.  which is one reason Biggs is so torn up inside and has mental attacks later in the game. :P)
