New member here, hi guys just subscribed to the forum.
Here's my attempt with Final Fantasy VIII :
Vimeo version (http://www.vimeo.com/16583567) (hope they don't remove it)
Youtube version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zrsk0_DiL78&hd=1)
Using the following Avs script (http://pastebin.com/wcjBPZu1). It's definitely not perfect of course, the result is still a bit too blurry but I at least tried to avoid heavy deblocking strategies (typically BlindPP()) in favour of lightest ones (Deblock_qed).

Pretty good, but I'm not sure I see the point. The PC version already has 640x480 videos, which are higher resolution than the source you're working with.

The output I could get from them with the new method would be brilliant. But I cant be assed with ff8.

Well I've read his thread and he said he uses some magic expensive software to reveal details, I've never used them but I'm pretty sure there's no software in the world that can make a video look good only by pressing a magic button :)
(I didn't know there was a PC version with higher rez videos, good to know)

Pressing a few buttons can.... and a lot of time and patience. It isn't THAT difficult, it is just a lot of time... as in shit loads.
